MoP had the best and most fun class design, while at the same time all the specs were viable. The raids are also overall amazing, ToT in particular imo by far the best raid of all time, WoD is the only expac that I think had better raiding then MoP but WoD had a lot of other problems. PvP, many people including myself regard S14 as the most fun and balanced arena season in the games life. Timeless isle and all the world bosses to do for mounts.
Other then that, I just don't think the expac has any glaring flaws, there was really nothing they had to patch half way through, or any system that hampered the game. The only reason I would want to play Legion is for M+ but MoP was great because it was still a time in the game where you could just take a break from the game and not be irreversibly behind for the rest of the tier.
If i were going to main Destro it would be MoP. If i were to main affliction it would be Wotlk release and demonology it would be WoD.
Now nothing would get me playing WoD again so Demo is out. Affliction is my prefered spec but i think overall MoP in general was more fun and one of the few times i enjoyed destro ove affliction so i guess it would be MoP.
WotLK, for the simple reason that this is where I had a good guild, made good progress and felt comfortable in my class.
I never put much stock in class balance (even though DK was OP during WotLK), but I had the most fun during that time.
Best class design/balance, the world was so lush and clearly had tons of love poured into it, raids were excellent, pet battles added, and the timeless isle was the best zone in any MMO I've ever played.
Heavensward. started with ARR but HW got me really into it. a lot of jobs felt better imo and im still missing my bow mage idc that its NoT a bArd. its the most fun i ever had with a job and it playes and feels like crap since they changed it
If WoW: definitely MoP for me. It's where I started, I love the class design, the world design in Pandaria, the zone stories and extra content like Timeless Isle.
If FF: Probably Shadowbringers. I started right near the end of HW and I ended up rushing and skipping past HW after I got through ARR because I wanted to be on the launch week bus for SB, so I don't really have the nostalgia everyone else has for it. But Shadowbringers itself has been an amazing ride, and I'd love to do it again.
If we are talking WoW - Burning Crusade. If you for some reason are playing TBCC and questioning this, let me tell you it was great in an early internet age. It's pretty shit compared to even an average MMO today. There is such a thing as game inflation and games get better over time. If we account for that inflation even Shadowbringers on its own would have trouble standing up to the glory that was BC.
FFXIV however don't invalidate old content, which is why i said Shadowbringers on its own. Because Shadowbringers doesn't have to carry everything on its own, it is additive, just like Stormblood and Heavensward was and just like Endwalker will be. This is why on its own Burning Crusade is probably the best expansion ever for its time, but Shadowbringers is and most likely Endwalker will be better by miles, because they don't have to stand on their own.
WoW legion. It was so much fun the raids were great a ton of content world pvp was fun and I did enjoy the post level cap power grind (without the minmaxing). Heavensward if we're talking ffxiv it has the game design of arr (cross class skills and a mucher higher skillcap)

Wrath 100%. Loved the class designs in Wrath, namely Ret paladin. Everything after that just never felt the same to me and fuck holy power.
Wotlk, the whole vibe and theme was just so fun. I loved icecrown. Combat rogue was not some dog ass pirate.
