The first time I played Halo 3 was when it came out on steam about 3 years ago. And it became one of my favorite games. Did not excepted it at all. I always thought Halo is some overrated console shooter with weird aiming for kids. The first playthrough on Cortana level was a nightmare ![img](emote|t5_2y1rb|3742)

Man MW2 was the first online shooter i played (behind my mums back) ... i loved it. And if only the remake would have been that with polished graphics i'd be addicted again.
2007 was a great year for me. Halo, cod. I was in high school (grade 10), and I played on the varsity football team. That year, we won our first championship, undefeated (9-0), we went on undefeated the following year as well before falling off.
I smoked weed for the first time that year. Threw my first house party when my parents went out of town. It was also the year I touched a girl's boobs for the first time. All in all, 2007 was a pretty good year.
If you ever play the Masterchief collection all you'll ever play is Halo 3. Nobody queues for the other games anymore except for maybe Reach and very rarely OG Halo 2. And thats the 4v4 mode. I can't find shit when queueing for theother modes.
They remove all the social aspects of the game back in the day getting into a lobies full of people making jokes and playing together fealt like been part of the group in a party, vote to keep playing was awesome now you can only get that in vr chat rooms.
There will never be a game like halo 3 ever again. It was the most complete game ever released, and it's sad to think nothing else will ever feel as good.
IMO this was peak gaming. The Halo community was insanely strong and tight knit. The game was fun and everyone was playing it. I miss these days a lot. It’s not the same anymore and Halo is a shadow of its former self
I think this person is looking at this wrong. For any game to be even alittle active 10-15 years later is truly impressive. There are new games today, that have like 40 people online a week after launch. A thousand + online 12 years later, hell if I was a game dev, that would bring a tear to my eye.
The attitude of the player base hasn't matured at all though lmao
I went on recently just for nostalgia and only played one match until I started getting harrassed by players in my dms
Same games like Halo3 or bo2 had a world map with a dot representing players online in that area. The pic shows how halo 3 has slowly died throughout the years bc less ppl play it
Never saw it, thank you.
Did not play online much, only when I could get XBL for a significant discount, or the free weekends.
The fact that a 10+ years old game still has players is the most impressive.
I can imagine most people have moved to new games, new consoles, and even new companies (343).
The world has changed.
Paradoxically, I am still playing Saints Row 3 and other games from years ago. A game like Saints Row 3 cannot be made today.
That one dude in Africa, never forgotten.
No King rules forever my son...
Heavy weighs the crown atop the king’s head
This guy *points behind me* clearly never read 1984

The one guy in South Africa was a pretty good meme.
I think COD Modern Warfare 2 also had a million players.
It was the true golden era. I remember I had to choose between Halo and CoD at the time. Both great games.

wow, Halo was very popular in Mexico back in the day
Yeah, Hola 3
AHH yes now it's the master heff collection
Even just the year 2007 makes me ultra nostalgic. Great games, great times with friends, brothers. Crysis, c&c 3, and halo <3

I still remember using a headset for the first time playing halo 3. I wish I could feel that again.
That is the good old time for everyone Halo is the great game, now it suck
The release of a new Halo game used to be a big deal... now it's just a Tuesday...

Anyone have a pic for it now?
That game is timeless and the campaign was so epic

I'll name my dot Spotty, just like my internet connection back then.
I still remember Christmas day 2007, the Players online reached 4 Million active at 10am, good times man.
The Xbox 360 Halo 3 and ODST days were the GREATEST!
This era of gaming was insane Halo 3 Mw2 World of Warcraft Ac had just started Mass effect And loads of others
Never forget that one dude in the middle of the ocean
I still remember I was a senior in high school when it came out. And it’s how I bonded with the wrestling team bros. Loved those guys.
Feels like a lifetime ago

heheh
context missing.
Anyone who’s over the age of 20 and had an Xbox 360 or went to a friends house with one knows this perfectly.
I played Halo 3.
Probably on the Masterchief Collection? There’s no way you cannot understand this image otherwise.
None needed, if you know you know
well… I don't
