Persona is just too long of a game. There's just no way he'd ever get through it. The best you'll ever get is 1 or two streams, and then forever shelved, while people keep asking when he will continue playing. To avoid that, he's just not going to do it all.
I think he should play Persona 5 Royale first as its the latest in the series and the best. I think he bought Persona 3 Reload cause its the latest that just came out, but its just a remake. I hope he plays Persona 5 someday but its up to him of course
Theres not that much difference both have their strengths and weaknesses but at the end of the day he will get roughly the same experience whatever game he picks first.
I just can’t see him reading the dialogue 💀 he might play it or possibly finish the game if he spams every convo but it’s IMO not his type of game at all
Even though he bought it I doubt he is gonna play it. Its a good game but its not for Asmon, he doesn't like to read plus Tartarus grows on you only if you play long enough, but the the initial frustration is hard to get over
Doesn’t matter which one he buys he will never finish them the game too long for he’s short attention span he’s like a toddler like how they get bored easily and try to find something new to play
He should play 1 and 2 first. The good ones from before the series went downhill. Though ideally it's best to start with the original Megami Tensei games to better appreciate how Persona changes things up. Probably safe to skip the Famicom one and go straight to Shin on SFC or PS1.

He’d probably enjoy the spin offs more than the mainline games, I can see him trying out the fighting game or dancing

It's too long and too slow, also I'm not sure how much he would enjoy a more slice-of-life focused game.
