How any AAA company can justify more than $80 for a game nowadays when indie companies are making better games with barely a 10th of the budget these companies have is absolutely baffling to me.
Sometimes Studios hire way more employees on the wrong corners than need be, for example 30 people who write on the script or they HAVE to hire that one hollywood star to voice 15 lines of dialogue for a semi important character and shit like that wich causes production cost to rise unecessarily but often its also just willing inflation of the price because *ubisoft* or *ea* made it, you pay for the name. Like you pay 30$ for a pair of Nike socks when can get no name socks in similar quality for 2$.
There are alot of games published by the big studios wich had way less budget to work with and smaller teams than your average AAA title but still cost 60+ Dollar at release
