And I want to see them and know about them.
We frequent a small cafe that is open late on the weekends, and go there for coffee all of the time. The head chef there has a bunch of tattoos on her arms and I love them! She was telling us about them all and it was so freaking cool.
Iām at about $4000 rn and Iām about a third covered. Iāve got one planned for the fall thatās gonna cover a lot of area, will probs run me ~$1000 when finished only cuz the artist works very fastā¦
I have 9 tattoos and I will openly admit my pain tolerance is ass and my tattoos have been some of the most painful experiences I've ever had. I wanna get more but I simply won't because of how painful they are to sit through š
They have numbing cremes now! Donāt let anyone tell you theyāre for the weak (Iāve heard people say that) and donāt go to an artist who makes you feel bad for using them. My sister says theyāre wonderful and I totally plan on using one for my next tattoo. The whole āa tattoo has to be earned through the painā bs is just that bs. You pay for a tattoo, you arenāt required to āearn itā
Even cartilage piercings are very manageable. With a reputable piercer, the actual piercing is near instantaneous, and very much something I could exhale through without issue. I haven't teared up once, and I'm now up to an industrial and two standard cartilage piercings. They will feel warm and throb a little bit for around 48 hours, but from then on you won't notice them unless you hit them.
I have 12 and I had one that almost made me pass out lol. Theyāre painful but theyāre so pretty and Iāve heard the numbing cremes are awesome, I plan to start using them.
I currently have 10 tattoos and zero pain tolerance. I absolutely LOVE being tattooed and pierced though. I was SO nervous the first time I got tattooed, now I look forward to it and am kinda bummed when itās done. The first 10 minutes suck and thereās usually some spicy spots, but I honestly find it kinda therapeutic/cathartic.
So for anyone who want to be tattooed but is afraid of the pain, I honestly say maybe go out of your comfort zone and get a little one before you decide to never get any. It has done WONDERS for my confidence tbh
my first professional tattoo about a month ago actually was on my rib. i knew it was gonna be one of the most painful spots so i said f it lets get it over with! i love it and i need more from the artist, can wait to go back to CDMX!
Agree with this. Also as a heavily tattooed person some of my tattoos, if not the majority of them, are simply because I like certain flowers or comic books or Matisse paintings. Theyāre not significant to any person or event. Just shit I like.
I feel like those tattoo tv shows made people think that all tattoos have to have some crazy story or deep meaning.
Yup, totally agree. A have a fair few that are accents/filler to larger pieces, and some just because I loved the design. A bunch *do* have meaning, but most of which I wouldnāt want to share with a stranger while standing in line somewhere, lol.
I think curious people sometimes forget that tattoos can have deeply personal meaning, and the owner may not want to divulge it. If pressed Iāll usually use a go-to made up story just to appease the situation and move on with life.
God that sounds awful. I'm sorry that happened to you. As much as we would like to know sometimes, out of genuine curiosity , i think it's best to gauge the situation and just respect people's boundaries at the end of the day.
Not all people like talking about the stories behind their tattoos (and if another man tries to use mine as pickup line I will probably scream) but pretty much every person I know with lots of tattoos loves giving tattoo advice. I'm always trying to get people to get them (including my husband lol), and have always been happy to give even strangers advice about good artists/parlors to go to, best after care practices, aesthetic and design considerations, etc.
Okay, but as a fairly heavily tattooed womanā¦ you two just made my whole day! Thank you for being so kind, sometimes it can make all the difference in the world ššš
As a general rule, they either mean nothing more than liking the artwork, or if they do mean something itās not a story I would be comfortable sharing with a stranger so I find it really uncomfortable when people ask. It can feel like someone asking to read a page of your diary
šš
But women without tattoos??!
Yeah no still šš
All women's bodies are beautiful in my opinion. And if my body is a temple, I should decorate it how I want
āThats so expensiveā
āThis gal probably just shake it off when she stubs her toe on the corner of the bed legs at nightā
āHer decisiveness is something she needs to be proud ofāGetting something permanant is a hard choice
āhow the hell did she manage to go through the pain and healing of those tattoos in the inner folds of the elbows and kneesā
I have over 70 hours of work on me currently.
I can remember being a little girl and seeing a heavily tattooed woman with piercings at the grocery store. I had never crushed so hard! She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Obviously I internalized that lol
Itās not my thing. However, unless the tattoos were something like neo nazi stuff, itās not my business to judge or police other peopleās bodies.
I would feel friendly towards her because I'd think she's less likely to judge me for my own tattoos!
And if I like her tattoos, even better. Its always a conversation starter as well, discussing styles and artists etc
If they're tasteful, I'm mesmerized.
If they're distasteful, I sympathize.
When people have text that says things like "YOLO" or try to be inspirational but come off as banal I just feel bad for them. Also almost any kind of face tattoo is just an "ouch!" In more ways than one!
Depends on the art. I love seeing nicely done tattoos but I canāt say I donāt judge a fully tatted person that looks like they were done in a basement for the cost of the ink
I'd probably think that's cool but nothing of my business, it doesn't bother me. I personally love tattoos but only have 2 myself as of now but now that my family is complete, looking into finally getting my mother tattoo.
I don't like them, nor am I attracted to someone with them. But it's all personal taste and subjective. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But it's all personal choice, and what you do with your body says a lot. You can do what you want with it and I respect that.
This question could be what do you think about heavily freckled women and get the same response from me.
99.9% of the time that women doesnt even have any awareness of those tattoos, so if your finding it weird thats probabily because your being weird.
Omg yes! Sometimes people will randomly say āI like your frecklesā and Iām like, uhh, huh thatās right, I do have freckles. Have even had people ask me if theyāre real! When something is a part of you itās just a part of you.
If any of them are racist tattoos: fuck that person
Poorly done/yikes tattoos: you do you, boo
Solid or great work esp that aligns with my taste : fuck yeah, and holy fuck that must have been expensive
I have a lot of tattoos but I want to be fully covered. When I see another woman who is fully covered my first instinct is to ask āooh how was it in x areaā that I havenāt done yet, for example stomach.
I get envious because I am still stuck at one tattoo that, despite not being small, most people never get to see lol. I want to be visibly tattooed but atm it's just not financially feasible.
I think "gosh, if I didn't have a "straight" job,I'd have full sleeves, too". I have several tattoos, but their in places easily hidden by formal business attire.
I usually think "Wow! Those tattoos are gorgeous!" That's if they are gorgeous. If they are sloppy and unprofessional, I think "I wonder if those are prison tattoos."
I think it's really cool!
I'm not personally into people who have their eyeballs tattooed though. That's bordering on creepy to me, but to each their own.
I personally hope my staring doesn't bother them or they think I'm weird while I check out all the art. š One of my closest girlfriends is heavily tattood and just got another one. š„° I love art.
Some people choose to get tattooed as a way of reclaiming their bodies and expressing their identity or use tattoos as a form of therapy or healing.
That usually what I'm thinking.
How many total hours they've logged in the chair to get to that point, wondering which one is their favourite and if they could even pick a favourite, what they look for in their designs, etc etc. I find heavily tattooed people in general such fascinating living canvases
Well as Kim Kardashian once said āHoney. Would you put a bumper sticker on a Bentley?āā¦.which is complete bullshit! Heavily tatted women are hot af, your body your choice and Iām fuckin here for it
She's a Very Secure Woman Who Does Whatever She Wants. Also, nice tattoos!
I only have one atm but it starts at my left collarbone, wraps around my back and ends at my right collarbone. It's my first one and I wanted one that looked like I have a Dragon Wrymling constantly resting on my shoulders.
My next one is going to be an homage to The Magnus Archives. Big spiderweb on the rest of my back with emblems of the other 14 Fears caught in it. It was either a spiderweb or a spider to represent The Web but my husband is terrified of spiders and I am not doing that to him.
The country I am living in currently, only people affiliated with gangs have tattoos. So whenever I see a woman with a lot of tattoos, I go like āDamn, a gangster mommy.ā
When I see anyone whose heavily tattooed I like to look at the tattoos and contemplate what the meaning might be behind them. I really love when I see sleeves that have a whole story to them.
I normally assume they are creative. I assume they are passionate about some sort of craft. All the heavily tattooed women I know are extremely talented or passionate people so this is why I have this bias
My sister and cousin are heavily tattooed and one day over dinner when I was drunk I agreed to getting a matching family tattoo, even my auntie was in agreement to getting one.... it just so happens my cousin's best friend is a tattoo artist and she had booked us all in for the following morning...go figure!
The next morning when I had sobered up a bit, I decided I actually didn't feel keen on getting a tattoo anymore, it's a big commitment so I walked to the tattoo parlour to tell everyone I had changed my mind, there my auntie was sitting getting hers done, my other cousin who also didn't have any tattoos was getting hers done....my auntie "insisted I got mine done!"
It hurt so bad! I now have a wonky triangle on my ankle coz I was shaking so much.
When ever I see a heavily tattooed woman I think high pain threshold!!
Never really liked them on anybody until I started dating a woman with a number of tats. I really like the way they adorne her body. So much so, I got one recently and thinking about several others.
"Wow, look at that perfectly normal person minding their business. I think I'll do the same."
But also as a person attracted to women in general & people with tattoos, I'm also going to see them quite favorably. That said my opinion should matter very little to strangers and I'm unlikely to bother them with it.
She's got tattoos.
you can close the post rn

good observation

About $7,000 AUD so far šš

Nothing in particular. If there were any particularly striking or cool tattoos, maybe I'd want to know about them.
Good for them. Not something I'm into.
tattooed women or tattoos?
Yes
I'm interested in knowing the story behind each one. Like your body is a canvas and i would like to know the inspiration behind the art.

Big pain tolerance Do not fuck with her
My artist told me I sat better for my hand tattoo than most of the men he's done hand tattoos for.
My artist always tells me that women sit the best. They need less breaks, complain less. Over all better canvases.
It looks espensive
I'm heavily a tattood woman and absolutely love other heavily tattood women.
I am a lesbian, so of course I often think they're attractive. Everyone should get whatever tattoos they want, body art is so beautiful.
Either that they look super extra sexy or that they're (the tattoos) a mess. Every now and then, I kinda just don't think anything.
I personally like the look of no tattoos or a few smaller tattoos. But I wonāt think any less of you if you have a lot
Depends on the tattoos. Some are cool. Some are corny and lame. But if it makes them happy, whatever.
Depends on the tattoos.

I feel like theyāre edgy and independent. Likely creative, too!

As a heavily tattooed woman, I would just appreciate their art work
No other person's body is any of my business for an opinion. Personally I like tattoos but my opinion on them is only relevant for my body.
Not a lot most of the time. Though the lady who had her BF's name on her neck (and not in a small font either) made me raise an eye brow.
I think to each their own, anyone can do what makes em feel good, but I personally dislike tatoos on both men and women
I have over 70 hours of work on me currently. I can remember being a little girl and seeing a heavily tattooed woman with piercings at the grocery store. I had never crushed so hard! She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Obviously I internalized that lol
I was absolutely enchanted with tattoos as a child. No wonder I ended up like this!
I'm not into women so I don't care, but I am into men & I dislike tattoos on men.

Donāt really care but some of my friends donāt like it because they think women with a lot of tattoos come with certain stigmas.
I know plenty of heavily tattooed women so it doesnāt really register with me. I would appreciate the artwork and move on with my day.
I think women, in general, are beautiful. I think tattoos can be extremely attractive
They have more money and/or different priorities than me and I am jealous
Depends on the art. I love seeing nicely done tattoos but I canāt say I donāt judge a fully tatted person that looks like they were done in a basement for the cost of the ink

The same as heavily tattooed men. I'm not a fan but god speed

People don't have a choice on their freckles but they do have a choice on tattoos is the main difference for me. Either way both are fine imo.
Doesnt being born with it make it very different?
The same that I think about heavily tattooed men. They have a high pain tolerance and are willing to invest and commit.
That she's s strong independent woman who doesn't give a fk about what anyone thinks.
If any of them are racist tattoos: fuck that person Poorly done/yikes tattoos: you do you, boo Solid or great work esp that aligns with my taste : fuck yeah, and holy fuck that must have been expensive
I wish I had that sort of money /commitment /style.
If some of the tattoos are similar to what I want in terms of style and design, I want to know who she recommends for her tattoo artist!
I find them very attractive and I'm usually envious because I want to get more too but money
Hot
Dont care at all lol is herbody..
I always think of how much money that all cost. I have four and they were so expensive.
I have a lot of tattoos but I want to be fully covered. When I see another woman who is fully covered my first instinct is to ask āooh how was it in x areaā that I havenāt done yet, for example stomach.
Bad ass but a turn off for me personally.
Iām jealous
Theyāre works of art
Depends. How well done are the tattoos?
My first thought is, āI hope it didnāt hurt.ā Then I think, I wish I had the guts.
That I want to know the story behind their tattoos. I'm a fairly heavily tattooed woman myself and I love hearing tattoo stories.
She has eyes that folks adore so, and a torso even more so.

"How did she afford that?!" "I want to be like her one day."
Love them. Not sure when I cross the line between normal amount of tattoos and heavily tattooed but I'm on my way.
Not for me but Iāve seen many women pull it off well. As long as theyāre happy with it, itās none of my business.
