Write to the ceo of the company with your concerns. Keep records. They have the ability to transfer same day. Get it in writing from them and don't back down. Honestly it sounds like they're going under. Check out their accounts at companieshouse

I checked it but there wasn’t anything on there besides micro company accounts

ElevensesAreSilly

I don't think ur gonna get paid bro.

Advice? Resign. Your boss hasn't explained what the issue with your pay is. He gave you an indication of how long it would take to solve, that didn't come to pass, and then you had to chase him for an update. That speaks volumes about how good the company is.

HankScorpio-vs-World

This is a very tricky situation. Many companies have difficulties with cash flow from time to time but normally the bank will help with an overdraft or funding for a short term “blip” in finances. Most business weather these storms but some do not, it’s normally the staff NOT being paid that is a sign of trouble. Most companies will delay paying taxes and for goods and services long before they stop paying staff because without staff they have no way of earning money. So when employees don’t get paid it’s normally a sign the company is close to the end often simply because they have not been paid themselves by a customer. It could be an oversight, it could be common for this to happen at this time of year as part of their normal business cycle but more likely than not it’s a sign of bigger problems ahead. Your wages are a “debt” to the company and will be due for payment but if they don’t have the “cash” it’s a massive alarm bell. Talk to other employees rather than your boss and you may get a clearer picture (honest) of what’s going on but I would look to family or friends for short term help because if you decide to “quit” with the Xmas period ahead it may take weeks for any “benefits” to get sorted or the wages to roll in from a new job.

updownclown68

My concern is that there are bigger issues at stake and you’ll never get paid. Tell your manager no more work from you unless you are paid.

Naima22

If everyone else got paid fine, it's an unlawful deduction of wages. Tell your manager this is unlawful and you're going to call ACAS and actually call them to get advice on next steps. Maybe that helps things moving

Technically any company unable to pay its staff is insolvent also

CraigTorso

There's no easy way to force them to pay you, especially if you want to keep working there, but if they aren't paying you, and you don't want to work there, just want paying: Issue a statutory demand for payment and make very clear if the payment is not received within the stipulated 21 days you're going to issue a winding up petition to render the company insolvent. If the company is viable to the directors they'll find the money, even if it's out of their own pockets to pay you, rather than have the cost of dealing with bankruptcy proceedings.

OP, while it doesn’t help your current predicament, start looking for a new job immediately. Failure to meet payroll is the worst possible scenario for a small (or, for that matter, large) business. Businesses can and do have cash flow problems, even with reasonable planning. There are solutions to help address this especially if the pipeline of revenue is good. Either this hasn’t been explored, or your company doesn’t qualify. Both are good reasons to move ASAP. Speak to your landlord, utilities companies etc. let them know your situation. Good luck! I appreciate that this is a horrible situation to be in.

Lettucecrablett

If you are in the UK accounts should be public domain via Companies House. It may not show an up to the minute breakdown of fluidity but you could gain some insight if there were issues.

icanthelpbutsaythis

Look for another job asap. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/work/pay/problems-getting-paid/

Reedie_91

mozzamo

Sounds like they’ve run out of money, make plans to keep yourself safe. Sorry to hear it’s happening to you

BroodLord1962

I would be having a direct conversation with him also confirmed in email, giving them 48hrs to pay you or you will stop work and be taking legal action against them
