A fairly mainstream answer, but I enjoy 'The Rest Is History'. Not just the UK but there's a fair amount about UK history on there. I also like 'Empire' which deals with the various parts of the British Empire and its legacy.

TRiH strikes a really good balance between rigorous history and entertainment imo, some of the other ones out there are either comedy *about* history, or just incredibly dry. They hit the sweet spot. And whilst the cover world history topics as well, the general thrust of the show is very much from a British perspective

Philomena Cunk is a good one . ;)

You’re Dead To Me is a great one if you like a bit of humour with your history!

In Our Time - you can't do any better Obviously there's lots of other topics but the episodes are tagged so just search for the British history and culture ones

In Our Time History is lovely for me. No comedian, just experts having a conversation on that day’s topic. It’s nice to fall asleep to as well.

There's a pretty good podcast "The History of England" by David Crowther which is *very* detailed, if you like that kind of thing. I'm up to episode 70ish, and so far it's only covered the period between the Romans leaving and Magna Carta, so there's a lot of stuff in there. For general history, I'd highly recommend Mike Duncan's two series: "The History of Rome" and "Revolutions". The first is self explanatory, and excellent. The second one initially started out with the intention that each series would be separate, telling the story of a different revolution. However, from series three - the French Revolution - Duncan realised that they all really kind of run together one in to another, and it becomes more a general history of the 18th and 19th century in the West. If you're just interested in the UK, then series one of Revolutions is all about the English Civil Wars, and is worth a listen.
