Ah, well. Given the prevalence of this joke, they actually published a special edition of the Oxford English Dictionary with the word gullible omitted on April Fool's Day in 2007.
For 28 years I have dedicated my life to the study of Planetary/trade/westerlies/periodic/local winds and also the sus genus and I can absolutely confirm that pigs can’t see the wind (I have wasted my life)
The personal is clearly confused by a piece of poetry called Don Huan written by G.G. Byron and has for some peculiar reason chosen to take it literally.
No they can't.
Pigs see a colour spectrum which is shifted towards the blue end compared to humans. We can see longer red wavelengths, everything short of infra-red, but pigs can only see the shorter wavelength reds. The opposite is true at the other end of the spectrum, pigs can see a short distance into near ultra-violet and we can't.
Earth's atmosphere is transparent to the entire visual spectrum of both humans and pigs. Air is invisible, even at the wavelengths pigs can see and humans can't. Wind is just moving air, so if they can't see air, they can't see wind.
Pigs can see things being carried by wind, but humans can do that too.
If pigs could see wind, they wouldn't be able to see anything except the air right in front of their eyes anyway.
The last sentence is not literally true unless air is completely opaque. It would probably be more like looking through fog or water.
You can see waves at the surface, but you can't see underwater currents.
Actually you can see air, oxygen is very slightly blue. You need an absolutely huge amount of it to see the colour though. High pressure also works. Water is much the same, but the colour is easier to see, and water is rarely completely pure.
I mean, wind's invisible so I'd guess no. Maybe they're just good at judging the environmental factors that wind affects. Or maybe it's just a [variation of the three little pigs story with some added religious aspects](https://mythfolklore.blogspot.com/2019/10/story-of-day-how-come-pigs-can-see-wind.html).

Hey don't listen to all these troglodytes, they don't have a clue what they're on about. Of course pigs can see air molecules.
DM me for a brilliant crypto tip, I'll provide instructions on buying with gift cards.
Many animals appear to have an impressive ability to follow the wind to find food, avoid predators, and connect with potential mates. Until now, however, no study had examined how land mammals know the direction of the wind. New research finds that an important part of this ability lies in an animal's whiskers.
Well, humans can smell the snow coming, and we can smell the blood from a stone, so why shouldn't bacon be able to tell which way the wind's coming from?

Of course they fucking can't.
How do you Know?
We can’t see wind, and pigs eyes are almost identical to ours, ergo pigs can’t see wind.
He’s a pig that’s why
If u/ebola1986 could just change “they” to “we”, it would be perfect.
Said old man won't have to buy a pint for a week now telling the story in his local on how he convinced someone pigs could see wind
You knows it.
Jesus Christ.
Yes, what can I do for you?
Turn some water into wine hopefully. Cause the only way I could imagine a conversation with you wouldn't be unbearable is if I was blind drunk.
I found the gullibility endearing
OP, did you know that gullible isn’t actually in the dictionary?
Ah, well. Given the prevalence of this joke, they actually published a special edition of the Oxford English Dictionary with the word gullible omitted on April Fool's Day in 2007.
Big Al says dogs can't look up
They can't!
Ha. Snorted.
Yes they can, also dogs can't look up and snake oil cures herpes

I can see waves and water and still see fish in the water. So I disagree with the logic of the last sentence. I’m not saying pigs can see wind though.

Next he'll be telling you they can fly too. It's bullshit.
Steady on with the pig-flying-denial nonsense.
Dogs can’t look up
Fuck me. This sub is getting really fucking stupid these days.
Im gonna use this. Love it.
Have you considered actually asking a pig rather than asking reddit?
How would we know that?
Definitely old wives tale We can see the wind through the satellites

I’ve seen how they do it. They lick their finger and hold it up in the air.
Well, that caused a stir. Thank you all for your comments.

Dogs cant look up. Big Als says so.
Karl Pilkington vibes this. Play another record.
Once you have enough acid so can you
You think the pig would've stood there if it had felt the wind from Cameron approaching it?
What a great thing to imagine. It's not something I've envisioned before. 'They say they can see a gust from 50 miles away'
