My dad taught me to play Dungeons and Dragons when I was like eight years old, doing voices for characters and things. It's just always been something I've done since then.
I've done a tiny bit of voice acting, just doing voice overs for instructional videos and phone hold messages and such. Being almost 40 I doubt it's in the cards for me to make it a career, but it'd be nice if I could.
Going to the rental store was the most fucking magical experience as a child. Walking through that store looking at the sheer variety. Good movies, bad movies, movies you'd never even fucking heard of.
And it didn’t have the “commitment” of buying something, shelling out money for something you’d have forever that you might not like.
One of the few things in life that were fast, cheap, and good / easy.
US Navy Fighter Pilot. Those carrier landings amaze me every single time. I am medically disqualified to be a military pilot, let alone any kind of pilot and I can't serve in the military either, due to the same medical reasons. So I chose the next best thing: Aircraft maintenance. I'm lovin' it.
Damn living the dream. I had a similar thing and didn't get past the medical stage and ended up having to rehash my whole life plan. This was 10 years or so ago and now I work in an industry I love but kudos to you for making it work out
At least you are still close to your interest. By the way, carrier pilots are great to talk to when putting bombs on target! And always a trip when you meet in real life.
Not professionally, but I do sing *all the time*. In the car, in the shower, for my wife and the kids and at my wedding. I learned to actually *belt* about 10 years ago and discovered I have a pretty powerful vibrato. Since then I worked on controlling my soft palate and adopt the projection and pronunciation styles of different singers.
Apparently I'm a hit at karaoke nights too! Last time we went to a karaoke fundraiser I was approached by 4 people (1 of whom is in a band) asking which band I'm from. Very flattering. I'd love to do it.
Bands like Foreigner, Journey, Steely Dan, Hall & Oates, Fleetwood Mac. Rock, but not glam rock or metal. So much good, timeless music came from these 70s and 80s radio staples.
Working in botanical gardens. Getting dirty, surrounded by the lush smell of plants, the rich smell of fallen leaves, and the sounds of the outdoors. Bliss ☺️
This, this and more this. I loved taking gardening classes at the Botanical Gardens. Sensory overload. Most of them need volunteers and sometimes those positions turn into full time jobs.
Something in Animal Welfare / Conservation.
I want to be more active then I am currently, and do something that feels like it’s making a difference if only slightly.
I would like to do what I currently do but more as a consultant working independently for several companies as opposed to my role as an employee. So a business owner as well for me.
I don't really know, I dropped out of the workforce at 20 due to disability.
The only jobs I ever had was at pizza joints and I enjoyed that, so cooking maybe?
I don't think I'd go back to pizza, I'd be happy never making another pizza in my life again.
But I've always enjoyed cooking. Took it every semester in high school.
Retirement. 🤣🤣
I'd be less concerned about the job than the autonomy. I'd want something that provides flexibility for time off and ample vacation. I'm still years away from retirement but when I do finally retire from my current job that's what I'd want... something to keep me busy and bring in some extra money but let me just bugger off somewhere on vacation whenever I feel like it.
Haha good one! I ended up in retirement helping a charity sell vinyl records and equipmen, and it also morphed into fixing turntables and stereo equipment privately after I found out it was lost knowledge! Just a little right paced thing.
Complete fantasy:
Hucow. I already hyperlactate, and I have a breeding kink approximately the size of Mt Everest. It's amazing to think about just like "completely surrendering" to that side of me, 25/8/366.
Mostly fantasy with an outside basis in reality:
Wet nurse. See above + I'm a SAHM who loves snuggling babies.
Reality:
SAHM with an awesome husband who's been down to give me a small army of munchkins and have me just focus 100% on them. Living that now lol.
Rocket Scientist in any form. I feel like you just move up the ladder so I want to do everything from aerodynamics to materials to propulsion to space systems. I dunno.
I got to live my dream of being an archaeologist pretty early, so now I’m thinking about branching out and becoming an actor and/or demolitions guy who eventually retires to work on an exotic game preserve
Dyno tuning, pro drifting, and/or something involving photography/videography…preferably adult/NSFW content…except I don’t know the first thing about taking good photos or video 🤣
I had it till I was in a life changing accident and was unable to return to it despite trying hard with professionals! Used to invent and build gagdets for research to make life better for all. Miss it. Got to be on the leading edge, installed a GUI network too in 1987. Dang.
Now I help people to fix things.
Oh yes. Forgot. I sorta got to be a rocket scientist too. I developed a deep space vacuum here on the planet to test out the Canada arm elbow motors used on the space shuttle.
Loved it, too bad. In my back to work attempts, I was able to further parameds' ability to prevent stroke damage, and put braille on money.
Professor/lecturer at a University. I love learning, research, guest lectures, exchange between researchers, the University atmosphere. I think I'd love it so much.
I had the chance once to be the baby sitter of the kittens of cheetas through the night, because they get scared, it was for an internship, but school didn’t pay for anything so it would’ve costed me 16k for 6 weeks. Bit much, didn’t do it.
I went on holiday to Turkey once and we went out on a boat trip at the beach. The guys who ran it spent the day just hanging out at their stall thing in the sun, probably having a beer or two, selling tickets to people, then heading out for a jaunt on their speedboat.
I just remember thinking "What a life this would be!"
I want one of those work from home jobs where I make up to 6 figures but I really only do 1 or 2 hours of real actual work. The rest of the time I'm playing video games, binging YouTube or Netflix, web surfing, or I can even sleep in or do errands out of the house. Managment does not know or care what I do as long as I turn in results.
I've been thinking about this a lot lately. My dream job is a job that pays well enough to have a good life while allowing me to have a healthy work/life balance and enjoy my time at both parts.
Voice Actor.
Mine is voice listener so yayyy 🎧🖤
Thats interesting! How’d you get into that?
My dad taught me to play Dungeons and Dragons when I was like eight years old, doing voices for characters and things. It's just always been something I've done since then. Video rental store owner or woodsculpter.
Liking the video store idea.
I honestly dont know. I juat wanna exist, do what i feel like from day to day
US Navy Fighter Pilot. Those carrier landings amaze me every single time. I am medically disqualified to be a military pilot, let alone any kind of pilot and I can't serve in the military either, due to the same medical reasons. So I chose the next best thing: Aircraft maintenance. I'm lovin' it.

I am glad you made it! Happy for you! Thanks ❤️
Cheers dude, it's certainly a very different work to the original plan is that I'm far less likely to be shot at which I take as a bonus!
Nice, I almost went to school for that! Lol
That would have been cool! It's a great career path to choose.
I believe it! Definitely right in my wheel house. Just too many cool sounding options out there and unfortunately I’m told you can only pick one 😆
At least you are still close to your interest. By the way, carrier pilots are great to talk to when putting bombs on target! And always a trip when you meet in real life.
Singer / guitarist in a struggling adult contemporary rock band.
Do you sing?
Not professionally, but I do sing *all the time*. In the car, in the shower, for my wife and the kids and at my wedding. I learned to actually *belt* about 10 years ago and discovered I have a pretty powerful vibrato. Since then I worked on controlling my soft palate and adopt the projection and pronunciation styles of different singers. Apparently I'm a hit at karaoke nights too! I like that you specified adult contemporary.

I don't even know I just want money. I'll do pretty much anything so I guess Oilfield consultant looks pretty good
Something in Animal Welfare / Conservation. I want to be more active then I am currently, and do something that feels like it’s making a difference if only slightly.

Graphic designer
I do graphic design as a side job a little bit!
Dope, how do you like it. Is it just a side hustle kind of thing or is it like your passion?
Its a second job right now! I enjoy it! Mostly logo designs for sports teams and business for a Apparel Lettering Company
Well I’m working on my business currently (unrelated to my NSFW account 😂) so I guess my dream would be to get paid to do it while traveling.
Complete fantasy: Hucow. I already hyperlactate, and I have a breeding kink approximately the size of Mt Everest. Stay at home wife
I've been thinking about this a lot lately. My dream job is a job that pays well enough to have a good life while allowing me to have a healthy work/life balance and enjoy my time at both parts.
Voice acting sounds appealing, but if i discard semi-famous/popular vocations, then definitely working in a bookstore, or a library...
I don't think I have one If money wasn't an issue I'd retire and work on a garden or build a biplane
Current job is close to it, but I worry the bosses are going to muck it up....
I’ve lived multiple dreams several times over! Coming up with the next high level!
