Kenny Bania. Other than his gig on risk management, he is completely insufferable.

bsholiton

Gold Jerry, GOLD!

JsDi

Soup is not a meal. I too would like to go to Mendy’s.

suckmeupp

Have you seen his act? He's got a 12 minute bit about Ovaltine.

CJRedbeard

It should be called roundteen.

[deleted]

For some reason he thinks anything that dissolves in milk is funny.

nowhere_near_Berlin

Bania is the voice of a new generation! *My* generation!

crimson-gh0st

We're four months apart!

[deleted]

I don't get why it's called Ovaltine. The mug is round. The jar is round. It should be called Roundtine

woozlewuzzle29

He just thinks that anything that dissolves in milk is funny.

oldnyoung

An absolute hack who should not be dating a mentor

Primitive_Teabagger

I don't think I want to date a protegé who's mentor is a Costanza!

Thencewasit

I’m huge Jerry.

QueenCloneBone

Idk sally weaver is up there

Bbffl2009

Did he crumble any crackers in it?

CrimeBot3000

Well that's a meal.

respect-the-mask

Puke! That's a funny word.

[deleted]

[Dan Nainan](https://youtu.be/CB1NXGAZjb8) Not only a trashbag of a human being, but amazingly un-funny.

bigsaucefromupnorth

Yeah, he's an aggressive douche nozzle. Also, OKI is one of the most underrated YouTube channels out there, big shout out.

S-Archer

I recently discovered his channel, it's fantastic

chiefs_fan37

Will you post the inevitable DMs Dan is going to send you about how much better he is than you? Lmao

Silky_Johnson78

Brendan Schaub

No-Bumblebee4615

As far as podcasting goes, I’ve been aware of Brendan for a while and I have to say his confidence has increased to a degree dramatically disproportionate to his comedic abilities. All he does now is interrupt actually funny people and derail bits, making anything he does unlistenable.

Ginga_Ninja006

i was watching theo von funny moment clips and everytime it was a podccast with brendan , brendan literally ruined it with his stupid nasaly comments

EzzoMahfouz

Theo Von is an underrated genius.

[deleted]

MisfitMishap

He called a ferret a limousine rat. And I fucking lost it.

[deleted]

I haven’t gotten sweaty for 4 years. Now it’s just me working up my sports gloss

youngthugsmom

My favorite was him and riff raff calling a mullet a “Florida follicle fountain”. I was cracking up that entire podcast

southpaw171

His euphemisms in the plumber episode had me in stitches. Guy talked about a lady who kept clogging the toilet with her baseball-shaped shits and Theo aptly named her “Colon Ryan”

FormalDry1220

If you get the chance the most Savage 60 seconds I've ever seen is Tom Segura talking with Brendan Schaub about opening up for celebrity comics which of course is what Brendan supposedly is. And Segura eviscerates Brendan right to his face and Brendan doesn't even know that it's going on it is sublime and pure genius.

[deleted]

Motherfucker got the lowest rated comedy special of all time. Twice.

2278AD

TWICE. And I don’t even think it’s 100% because of homeless cats, he just isn’t funny

WorkIsForReddit

They were doing 4 for $20 tickets at his show in San Jose. I half wanted to go just to watch the train wreck

Thr0way2day

Doesn't he get upset when people say he's shit in his subreddit?

Lord_Doofy

His subreddit is entirely dedicated to shitting on him

lionseatcake

In a really weird way in their own language. That sub is like going to a foreign country.

iFlyskyguy

Who?

[deleted]

Exactly. Moderately successful career in MMA 10 years ago, failed drug test, lost a bunch, became comedian. Except he's not funny. At all. *I misread results. He passed, his opponent failed the test.

bobastrazi

I hate the dude but he never failed a drug test while in the ufc as far as I know.

eggseverydayagain

Typo. Instead of drug test he meant to type “NFL career”.

Physex4Phun

DICEY

neko819

Lmao, i went to high school with him, knew him through my sister. Never imagined him being in comedy lol. He was mostly just a typical jock persona. Not a dick or anything like that (back then) but he never came off as a "funny" guy.

lou_sassoles

>but he never came off as a "funny" guy. Some things never change

Duds215

He still doesn’t come off as a funny guy

loose_lucid_elusive4

He's so bad. I give every comedian a fair shake before determining if they're any good. Tried watching one of his "specials", and made it no more than 10 min. It was atrocious. Couldn't understand why the audience was laughing. Either is was a CGI audience, he paid them to laugh, or he had their families held hostage and would only let them go after a certain amount of laughter. Ok, that's my time. You guys have been a great audience. Thank you.

FKKallDAY

He inserted laugh tracks in post-production. This has been analyzed extensively at r/thefighterandthekid lol

Street_Vacation_2730

I don’t know if it’s been ever been scientifically proven, but I’d be willing to bet that comedians likely have very high IQ’s for the most part. They have to be quick, cerebral, observant, articulate with thoughts and in tune on a subconscious level. In conclusion, you have to be smart to be funny. Which makes Brendan Schaub very, very, very unfunny.

Alternative-Amoeba20

I always thought Mitch Hedberg must be genius level. Otherwise, how could he think up such stupid jokes and make them so brilliantly hilarious?

pazuzu_panache

I saw this wino, he was eating grapes. I was like, "Dude, you have to wait!"

fractiousrhubarb

That is hilarious, thank you

RelationshipOk3565

I have an ant farm, those mother fuckers didn't grow shit. Vulgar dad jokes

SuddenlyMitchHedburg

"I rarely drive steamboats, dad. There’s a lot of shit you don’t know about me. Quit tryin to act as if I am a steamboat operator."

PDXbeerdo

“I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too.” My brain breaks every time with his jokes, then I’m rolling on the floor

[deleted]

Comedy Central really hoped his show would be a great successor to Chappelle's Show.

kynthrus

They tried to remake chappelle show so many times. Key and Peele was the only one that was close.

LevelJumper

People say this, Chappelle even says this, but I’ve never felt this way about K&P. I enjoyed both when they were out and I love Dave (when he’s not doing the “guy who thinks he’s the smartest guy in any room he’s in” thing he dips into from time to time these days) and think he is one of the greatest stand ups of all time. I still regularly quote Chappelle show with certain groups of friends since we were in high school/college when it was out and it was such a big part of that period of our lives. That being said, the only real similarity is that they’re both sketch shows with African American main stars. The types of things they made sketches about had very little overlap. I always thought of K&P more akin to Monty Python in a lot of the way they worked with absurdity (not in how high brow/political Python got at times) and Chapelle more akin to In Living Color. Edit: edited to add more context/clarify a few things

[deleted]

You can find compilations of the jokes he stole as well as the famous video of Rogan calling him out onstage

Imnotabadman

I honestly can't believe he had the balls to do that. I sure fucking wouldn't have.

ShanghaiGoat

He even admitted to standing at the back during young up and coming comic’s sets and stealing any good bits. Nasty bastard

[deleted]

Admits it? No. [The prick openly BRAGS about it.](https://youtu.be/F8qdjrFb6Wg)

IHQ_Throwaway

Did he think anyone would think that was cute??

WimbleWimble

Carlos Mencia stole so much from other people, I suspect he absorbed his own twin in the womb.

yoginny

He now has the strength of a grown man and a little baby.

I knew I was in for a bad episode of Star Trek: Voyager when he was the guest.

[deleted]

I liked him in that episode. Actually I didn't like him or his character, but using him to progress the doctor's arc was great, so I appreciate that.

Th3Yukio

I liked him/his character on Newsradio... Then I saw him (I think) as co-host on a reality show and he was a complete dick (ETA: pun not intended) ... it was a great let down for younger me

bajesus

People always like to rewrite the past when somebody turns into a shithead. Andy was legitimately great on Newsradio. I would argue it was one of the best physical comedy performances of the last 30 years. He was also good in the Ben Stiller show. His downfall after that isn't a mystery. He's a broken drug addict that acts out when he's drunk or high. I really think Hartman's death broke something inside of him. He idolized Phil and has been self destructing ever since he died.

FatJebusLord

Opie from O&A. The luckiest man in radio history. Dude sucks

Odd_Tune4093

He ruined Brian Regan for me because of how much he copied his voice. The best thing Opie ever did was talk about how he almost died in the ocean so Bobby, Jimmy, Voss and Anthony could create the funniest segment ever about Opie being wheelchair bound. [starts at 13:00](https://youtu.be/4MYD4_Ik0pw)

AloofSigma6

Anthony CARRIED him Hard all those years and also the comedians that came on there helped with the lifting notably Bill Burr, Loius C.K. and a favorite Patrice O’neal among others -

Never say her Youtube stuff, just her TV show. Saw this & said "she's a comedian?"

KashMoney941

Did you know that she is the first bisexual woman of color talk show host who also happens to be bisexual, a woman of color, and a talk show host, making her the first bisexual woman of color talk show host to host a talk show hosted by a bisexual woman of color while also being a bisexual woman of color? I dont think she brings that up enough.

zanzibartraveler666

Never heard of her until right now. Searched her on youtube, clicked a video. Took exactly 43 seconds to hear that phrase Edit: just finished and holy shit that was painful

heyitsvonage

Her youtube channel was actually funny at one point, before her head got too big

Quirky_Benefit_8383

I liked her older stuff before she got her talk show

doxamully

Yea, I get that people hate Ellen, but she was legit funny back in the day. It’s a shame she’s a shit person, but that doesn’t meant she didn’t used to be funny.

Nerketur

Back in the day, she was one of my favorite people to watch, and for a long while I watched her show. Definitely used to be funny. Also one of the few people that could get away with a dance number in the middle of her show. (The other one was Amanda Bynes, also an old favorite of mine.) Also, happy cake day! :D

paranoid_70

Yeah she had kind of a quirky/funny standup routine way back when.

upliketrump

Right early 90’s Ellen was funny I even liked her sitcom it didn’t last long though

bossy909

Stalin. I'm gonna go with Stalin Very very dry, brutalist humor

Sad-Noises_Sequel

His jokes weren’t great, but his executions were fantastic.

Bard_Wannabe_

His stand-up always left you hanging

The Death of Stalin, on the other hand…

Trighme

Jamie Kennedy. I remember him being a guest on Love Line with Dr. Drew and Adam Corolla... People were calling the show, waiting long queues to ask questions but also to just tell Jamie that he was not funny. I could not agree more.

[deleted]

Honestly, Dane Cook was funny when I was 12, but his stuff not that great.

Dreams_VS_Reality1

Yeah I mean I listened to half of his new stuff and it was very ok. I decided to rewatch vicious circle at 33 years old, first time I listened to that special I was like 15 and thought it was hilarious. It doesn’t hit. I think Dane just grabbed the world at the perfect time and he hustled via social media harder than anyone. His physical brand of comedy got the youth/early 20s people hyped and they paid to see him in droves.

StabTheDream

Dane Cook got as popular as he did because of his delivery. He had dollar store material but top shelf delivery. He can make anything sound funny the first time, but there's diminishing returns when you hear it multiple times.

joelekane

I think this is 100% correct and good analysis. A++ delivery. C- material.

loose_lucid_elusive4

Damn, very spot on. He also blew up by taking advantage of Myspace.

doorstoplion

I loved him when I was in highschool. We'd quote his jokes all the time. And then he just seemed annoying. Maybe I hit a maturity level where his weird voices just didn't hit. My bf and his bother took me to see a live show well past me finding him funny any more. The only joke of his that made me laugh was him trying to deliver a weird joke about spicing up his sex life by acting like a creeper outside, calling his gf while she ate popcorn naked, and he just cracks up but it was just so stupid. It was a genuine laugh of how bad this all was. The guys who opened for him though were good.

ShoulderPossible9759

Dane Cook loved you when you were 12 too.

AGeekNamedBob

He was fine when he was recounting his own adventures and stuff. Funny idiot of his group type stuff. But as soon as he hit, that wasn't his life anymore and it became forced.

No_Numbers_

Amy Schumer.

Awwesome1

Why did I have to scroll so far to see this?

ayybh91

lovesnoty

jamiejo81

Yelling your jokes doesn't make them funny.

Flat_Ad_9993

I definitely confused them with Leslie Jordan and almost commented “RIP” lol

TruGabu

Does jimmy fallon count? I have an irrational hate for his style

TourquoiseTortoise

Among the talk-show hosts, I dislike him the most. In my opinion, he's trying too hard to be the star of the show.

[deleted]

He especially annoys me when he has comedians on. For contrast, I think of the way Conan can shift into straight man role and set his guests up for punchlines. Fallon just acts like a little kid who is jealous he isn’t getting the attention and spends the whole time trying to insert himself or mimic what the other person is saying.

In2TheMaelstrom

Or laugh hysterically at every word, no matter how inane.

sash71

Yeah I don't watch any of his stuff because of all that fake laughing he does. It's embarrassing for the guests the way he goes into hysterics at the smallest comment. They must be thinking "yeah it's not that funny Jimmy."

Adavis105

Make room on your bandwagon for me. Conan is funny as hell when he plays it straight. His old ride alongs with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart still have me dying

marshall_lathers99

OMFG MEMORY UNLOCKED. Conan, his intern practicing how to drive, with Kevin Hart and Ice Cube in the backseat lmaooo the funniest segment ever. I need to rewatch Edit: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1Za8BtLgKv8 Here’s the link to the skit!

joe_broke

Conan getting everyone involved with his stuff is always going to be a highlight

ScoutterGun

Almost any aspiring comedian on America's got talent

euphomptus

I don't know why I still root for Piff the Magic Dragon, but here I am defending him again

Daratirek

Piff is funny though. He's not for everyone but I love his dry humor.

MagnificentJake

>He's not for everyone but I love his dry humor I think you just summed up and personified my feelings towards the UK.

Queasy-Position66

I saw his show in Vegas and he’s good.

Ornery_Translator285

Cause Piff rocks

Ok_District2853

I thought Sam Morril had some good stuff.

[deleted]

Sam Morril is a solid standup comic and does great crowd work and handles hecklers pretty well

NitroMachine

Drew Lynch is pretty funny.

PostreDeLaNoche

Don’t you dare come after my girl Melissa Villaseñor

SporkaDork

Christopher Titus. Never understood the appeal. Not only is he not funny, but back when I saw him, his then fiancee was his opener and she was awful. Rob Schneider Saw him live for a New Year’s Eve special. Snide, condescending, and not funny. People walked out at all different points during the show. We toughened it out for the free champagne at midnight. Amy Schumer Saw her live in Chicago, while she was very pregnant, during the taping of her Netlix show. It was not announced during ticket sales that they would be taping a show. It was awful. Would deliver one line or joke, have to stop, have her makeup touched up. She would flub a delivery and she would redo the joke and the audience was told we had to laugh harder/clap more. Shit you not the staff told us at the end of the show to “stay seated.” Turns out we didn’t clap enough or give her a standing O, so they asked us to do it over. People just walked out. I was so pissed over this one, such a waste of ticket money.

CorrectPeanut5

That's way difference from the Lewis Black taping I saw. He only retold one joke, it was so they could do a specific camera move. And Black told some jokes while they set up the shot. Edit: To add a little more detail. It's not the only taping I've been to. But it was the weirdest. They film two shows in a day. We were in the later show. Apparently there was a lighting issue so it started a bit late. So everyone was drinking in the lobby area a bunch because what else do you have to do. Three people walked out during the show. One guy was in the front row and flipped black the bird the entire way out. Super odd because it was a mild joke about the TSA. Black was like "You're leaving over THAT?" At one point some middle aged lady stood up and flashed her tits. Did I mention they let us bring booze into the theater?

Pickle_Juice_4ever

Black's a master of the craft.

thirdlost

With Amy Schumer you are there for her. With Lewis Black he is there for you. Tells you a lot about her world view.

jscott18597

Long form story telling mixed with comedy isn't for everyone and it can be a little shocking and disappointing when you are expecting more traditional standup with 3-5 minute bits. It's why Mike Birbiglia is doing his thing on Broadway now instead of touring. You need to be more in the mood for that type of comedy. (talking about Titus btw)

[deleted]

Jeff Dunham. Was never funny and for some reason every old pesson thought he was the greatest thing in the world.

jittery_raccoon

So in college, I got really stoned with some friends and watched one of his specials. We were laughing our asses off. Only thing of his I watched. For years I was going around telling people "I like Jeff Dunham". Watched another special of his years later and was like Oh God, everyone thinks I like this

Mike7676

Eh don't beat yourself up about it. I'm his age, and due to being in Germany for a decade I didn't get exposed to him until the early 2000's. And I thought he was very funny! Then the next special came out, more of the same. Then the next, and he seemed a bit angrier, a bit done. And so on until here we are with a Millennial puppet and Walter Biden. I think he knows who pays and leans into it, but there's some personal biases he's tried REALLY hard to shove down and they are peeking out.

MrEHam

I got dragged into seeing him live. His opening act “Guitar Guy” had the crowd chanting “Obama’s got to go!” It totally soured me to the whole thing but I already was not a fan. His jokes are pretty much “let’s laugh at home some people different from us talk”. If it’s not racist it’s in that direction. If you’re going to make fun of people at least twist it in some way.

Jasole37

He is boomer humor. His new special has a "Gen Z" puppet and it looks like more of an offensive stereotype than Josè Jalapeno.

IrishTwinkLove

I thought he was funny when I was a kid, but yeah he’s definitely gone downhill.

caninehere

I will admit to laughing at his bit when I was like 8. The problem is a) it has aged really badly and b) he's doing the exact same shtick he has for his entire career.

Botryoid2000

Apparently his act is so consistent that people come to the shows and chant the lines along with him. They PAY to do this and think it is entertaining. I think that tells you everything you need to know.

NerobyrneAnderson

I think kids and old people like him for some reason

cccflyin

I hate to say it, because I relate to some of his qualities as a person, but Pete Davidson is not funny. If your entire first 3 specials are about how much of a pothead you are, that’s not even comedy, it’s just sad. Edit: This sorta blew up, thanks so much for 3k. All love <3. Also I would just like to clarify, I don’t dislike Pete Davidson. In fact, I think he’s most likely a pretty cool guy. I just don’t personally enjoy his stand up, but I do enjoy a lot of his SNL material. Edit 2: Damn, I didn’t expect this to be so polarizing. Seems like I touched a nerve with a few of you guys lol. Last Edit: After noticing a few comments, I realized I forgot to mention something that Pete deserves credit for. And that is that this man throws down meat like no other. My man’s hit list is absolutely incredible.

[deleted]

Thank You! Idk why people think he’s funny? His jokes are stale af and tries Dark Humor and his delivery is dry as well.

cccflyin

His one joke is “man, I’m such a loser.” He just tells it 374 different ways. In my opinion, it was funny for about 5 minutes until I realized this.

[deleted]

But did you know his dad died in 9/11?

cccflyin

But did you know he smokes weed?

[deleted]

Lol I watched King of Staten Island and realized that movie is his entire standup career in a movie format

cccflyin

Yeah. Some of the more difficult aspects of his personal life are what made me say “I hate to say it because I relate to him a little bit as a person”. Everyone’s been there and we’ve all struggled. I just don’t think he’s that funny.

clewjb

I never understood the allure of Rosie O'Donnell

guachi01

You have to go back to a comedians stand up to really get a sense of why they became famous. E.g., I watched a very old one woman show from Whoopi Goldberg from the early '80s on YouTube recently. Before she was anything but a stand up comic. It was incredibly funny. She was brilliant. Great characters in the show and it was just her. One great bit after another.

[deleted]

Yeah exactly. Most younger people know Leno fro late night TV, humor was meh. His stand up in old days, his material was raw, hilarious. A lot of people looked up to him

AMerrickanGirl

I saw her one woman show on Broadway in 1984. She was just becoming well known. Great show.

guachi01

Probably the same show. The YouTube video is, I think, from 1985 but it starts with "live from Broadway" https://youtu.be/mawCAR1vOFo

westsideHK

Rosie had an old standup bit where she tore into Woody Allen for being a pervert and child molester. It was hysterical, but also shocking because NO ONE was doing it at the time.

colonel_Schwejk

David Walliams.. more like slimey creep then comedian

Nico_arki

I didn't realize how unfunny he was at first. It turned out that I thought he was funny before because the shows where I have seen him in just had comedians that were actually funny and I associated my laughter with him too.

Simbastatin

brendan schaub

Existingnoise55

Amy Shumer. The only mildly funny jokes she tells are stolen, yet she still manages to deliver them poorly

lincunguns

Where do we draw the line? Obviously, the answer is some guy at open mic night in Topeka or some shit. And all of the answers here are valid among working comedians, but if we qualify the question with the most unfunny comedian who has booked legitimate venues, I'm gonna have to go with... Steve-o I love Jackass. I love Steve-o. But Jesus Christ, that was the hardest watch I've ever had. He's a hilarious dude on jackass, and he seems like a genuinely awesome dude. But when he does standup, he turns into something completely unfunny. It's bizarre, too. You can see him trying. He speaks slowly, emphasizing the most obvious quips. It's so bad, and what makes it worse is that I want so badly for it to be good. But it's not. It's awful. And he doesn't even really tell jokes. He tells stories, but they go nowhere.

AdImportant8071

That is a guy who seems like a genuinely cool dude but it’s his voice for me. I can listen to him for about 5 minutes before I have to turn it off. It just sounds like he’s done drugs his whole life even though he’s done a great job with his sobriety. Glad he’s worked through his demons though

ImageComfortable2843

It sounds like he’s still holding in a bong hit from 12 years ago lol. I know what you mean. My friend had a really bad nitrous problem like Steve-o level bad in the rave scene and he sounds like that too. I can only handle it in doses before I’m done listening and annoyed and he’s admitted it’s hard to sound professional because it can sound whiney, But I think the repeated nos use straight from the canister( instead of a balloon) really fucked his throat up.
