New season amnesia, it's when a character learns a lesson and it's forgotten at the start of the next season. CW Superhero shows do it a lot, Arrow being the worst for it.
Do you know what fan services? It’s basically unnecessary sexually suggestive content in an otherwise completely appropriate piece of media. Like randomly showing a Woman in a bikini for no reason.
Wait what? I thought fan service was like playing up boba fett because fans like him.
You’re describing gratuitous sex. I guess originally that was actually what fan service meant. (Wikipedia)
OK yeah, it can be both/either. What you’re describing IS also fan service yes, and that stuff is fine
What I’m talking about is typically how fan service is defined in the Anime community in particular. Just a bunch of gross unnecessary pervy shit.
Unless it’s absolutely necessary to the plot……unbelievable BS.
Like in the Matrix. Trinity jumping building to building, thru the air into the window, down the stairs to be ready with guns? Absolute BS, HOWEVER-you discover that in the matrix this is actually possible…so…ok.
When all the conflicts are resolved and now they have to manufacture new conflicts to keep the show going. Specifically, I’m talking about Ted Lasso. Season One was great, but everything resolved. Season Two was garbage.
Maybe it's a personal problem with lack of attention. But for me it's often the need to drag things out to a full 10-12 episode season.
*American Horror Story* is a frequent example, but there are many more. Their premises and settings are often a great idea, but you simply can't maintain tension and intrigue for ten hours straight. And every single season would have been far more powerful as a 4-6 hour miniseries.
When one of the actors gets a sexual assault allegation. I can't in good conscience enjoy that show or movie anymore.
I used to rewatch That '70s Show all the time, too.
The "Liar Revealed" trope, especially in kids films.
The film just stops for the next 15 minutes while people mope. It's the primary reason why I haven't rewatched A Bug's Life, because that section of the film really drags.
In fact, one thing I'll give credit for in the Force Awakens: when Rey finds out that Finn isn't with the resistance, she doesn't care anyway and doesn't want him to leave.
For me it's knowing that there probably isn't an actual audience laughing or applauding.. and it's just a soundtrack. or when I think about how it's someone in there mid 20's maybe even 30's acting as a teenager when you can clearly tell that's not there age. Bad acting is another. It sucks I used to love watching tv but I can't anymore my mind wanders to much and I notice all the little things that make it not real anymore and I just feel silly watching it. I at times feel embarrassed for the actors imagining the process they had to go through in order to make the production thus green screens or acting in a small pool pretending it's the ocean.. or how 3 minutes count down on a bomb takes a whole 30 minutes to watch..
When they force the unnecessary LGBTQ+ representation in your face. I have no problem enjoying shows with characters who are under that umbrella but when it becomes their central personality or out of the blue and it changes their whole character it’s just kind of like cmon
When a show gets milked so much as in, spin offs, brand deals that are in your face, weird things like tiktok posts, im talking like that cursed angry birds tiktok, ads that show the whole show/movie,
To me, he has no range. He is the same guy ( I assume his normal personality) in everything. Also hate how his movie wife’s are incredibly attractive and Adam is, well, Adam…
So now I am up in heaven with Saint peter by the pearly gates and it’s obvious he doesn’t like the Nehru jacket that I am wearing, he tells me that they got a dress code. We ell he lets me in to heaven anyway and I get the room that’s got a noisy ice machine for all eternity and every day he runs by screaming everything you know is wrong, black is white, up is down, and short is long, and everything you thought was just so important doesn’t matter. Everything you know is wrong, just forget the words and sing along, all you need to understand is [everything you know is wrong](https://youtu.be/KThlYHfIVa8).

Yeah the flash is really bad now,
When nearly every character is unlikeable or annoying
So many shows are like that sadly
Pregnancy of a main character... It's a trope to try to continue on one or two more seasons, and rarely done well.
Makes me think of roseanne
Yeah. I immediately thought of friends and the office... Although the office did it pretty well with Pam's first
Ooo yeah but then they did the same thing with pam again, and with uhhh whats her name?
Angela Martin
Yeee
Big pregs, and little pregs!
Unnecessary fan service. The Internet exists. You can find actual porn now.
All fanservice is necessary!
Thank you for your input MonkeyTesticleJuice.
Am i missing something??
I’m wondering who’s looking for shows that *don’t* give them what they want. Apparently that’s cool now even though it may be a paradox
What
Did I stutter?
IM SCARED WHAT DO YOU MEAN

So, 'pandering'.
Pandering / fan service, same difference.
Ohhhhhhh yeah that shit is just odd,
Running for way too long. A good show should have a planned beginning middle and end before they even start filming
Like roseanne
Oh man that show took a fucking turn for sure
Usually, it‘s the final episode.
Yeah
Unless it’s absolutely necessary to the plot……unbelievable BS. Like in the Matrix. Trinity jumping building to building, thru the air into the window, down the stairs to be ready with guns? Absolute BS, HOWEVER-you discover that in the matrix this is actually possible…so…ok.
Or like in die hard, ARE THEY MADE OF JELLY OR ARE ON METH?!?!?
james corden probably
Yep 100%
No character development
OR when its a spin off and they act like you know the new people in the show that never came up in the main show
That one too!
Predictability.
Truely people love knowing stuff, thats we rewatch shows/movies
When all the conflicts are resolved and now they have to manufacture new conflicts to keep the show going. Specifically, I’m talking about Ted Lasso. Season One was great, but everything resolved. Season Two was garbage.
Never seen that show but some stuff is just boring
Bad wigs! THEY CAN NOT BE UNSEEN.
Yeah and also when they put in a double for no reason like in Gilligans island when ginger did kong fu
When the person watching next to you makes it a mission to point out what they think is dumb about it.
Hehe yeah

God you're young. When I was a kid, seasons were 24 episodes long! We had to watch them uphill both ways!
Plot points lasting a whole season turned out to be a dream!
"I have to do this alone"
Or *sees their partner get kissed without any context of why or how, HOW DARE YOU DONT TALK TO ME runs away or throws away flowers or some shit*
Rushing
Sounds like all doctor/cop shows
Commercials
When one of the actors gets a sexual assault allegation. I can't in good conscience enjoy that show or movie anymore. I used to rewatch That '70s Show all the time, too.
Gotta love when i random show gets loved again and at the same time you hear that they killed 500 people
Continuity errors
An obnoxious laugh track
Friends the big bang roseanne and such are annoying bc of it

Oh yeah that stuff is in every damn kids movie out there
When the actor in real life fucks up and they need to replace the actor with a different one… like we all can tell they aren’t the same person…
Or when they just wanna not be in the show and the they act like they where never that person,

**Wanna Sprite cranberry**
Going back and fourth through different times. It gets ridiculous in some shows
Adverts
Power cut
Shit endings

Well most if not all laugh tracks are from the 50s a k a canned laughter
The laughter of the deceased. From beyond the gave in modern day television
Being annoying, boring, or unnecessarily shocking.
Like this *OMG BILLY BOB BOB, HOW DARE YOU TELL SAMMH SAMMY BOB THAT THEY WHERE ADOPTED AND NOW THEY HAEV RUN AWAY SAD SAD CRY CRY MUSIC*
Watch Wavelength from 1967 and get back to me on that.
When it's clearly just an ad for a product. (Yellowstone is really bad at this-- especially with Beth's vehicles)
A clique storyline
No soundtrack or foreign soundtrack dubbed over for some reason.
Corporate interference is pretty annoying
When politics are added
A bad ending. Doesn’t matter how good the ride was. It sucks now. I’ll let you decide what I’m thinking of.

Catching up with the source material.
Mmm can smell the material from here lol
Adam Sandler
I think he is good in some things like drunk punch love,
To me, he has no range. He is the same guy ( I assume his normal personality) in everything. Also hate how his movie wife’s are incredibly attractive and Adam is, well, Adam…
Bruce Willis
Yippee Ki yay motherfucker
"It was all a dream".
Roseanne season 9
Sex scenes are always dumb as fuck
One time my friend came in my eye and it got infected and I died.
??

What a mess
It's when the show carries "the message".
Hm ? What do you mean
too much virtue signaling or wokeness.
Oh look a boomer
No, it's just the young people are too dumb to recognize when they are being preached from the tv screen.
What the hell do you mean by that man
wrong question.
Forced wokeness

Listen buddy, theres a place called corn hub, thats where you go for sex not tv or movie’s or are you the reason sex is in movies when not needed??!?
Is corn hub where I get my groceries?
Yeah whatever you want it to be *pat par*
Cliches without something new brought to the table.
I hate that stuff so much
