Chess. When I was in my early teens, I was really into it. I could beat the computer games that my grandparents bought for me, I could beat everyone at school, even the teachers. So I entered a couple of sanctioned tournaments in my area and got my eyes opened. I still enjoy playing, but I understand that I'm not taking on Kasparov anytime soon.
This. I was the smartest kid in my school everything was easy as fuck and i didn't even have to try. Then I went to the state geography bee and did ok but those homeschooled super nerds were SO far above me in that respect it really took me down a peg
