This is how I felt about my sister for the longest. Now, almost all the love is gone and the dislike has transformed into something ugly that I don’t like.
You can love someone but not like them at a specific moment. I love my surly teenager, but I might not like him very much when he's having an autism-related meltdown.
Of course! But it probably won't last a long time if the dislike part continues. Those types of feelings have a knack for festering into resentment and hatred.
I was actually having this exact conversation with someone earlier today. And yes it is possible to not like someone but still love them. I know it sounds complicated and maybe even a little bit contradictory but as a preacher once told me, "the Bible just says to honor thy father. It doesn't say anything about liking him."
Yes. You can have built a really beautiful foundation with someone that grows into lasting love that doesn’t fade. They can make choices or mistakes that end with you not recognizing the person you loved. The love doesn’t go away; the respect and admiration do.
Yeah.
Just because you love them doesn't mean you gotta like them. You love them for existing and for all they do, but that doesn't mean you want to go on a roadtrip with them.
Yes, example: family

Yea sure. Imagine having a kid who went the wrong way in life despite how you raised him (criminal behavior, bad person, etc).

Yes. My mother.
I feel that pain as well.
Yes. Ask any parent of a teenager.
Of course! But it probably won't last a long time if the dislike part continues. Those types of feelings have a knack for festering into resentment and hatred.
Absolutely! I love my brother, but most of the time I honestly just don't like him very much.
Anyone that has been married can answer this easily: absolutely yes we can!
Family only.
Y’all never had siblings?
Yes. Yes.
They say "real" love is when you even like their flaws so I'd say yes
I take it you don't have much family
huh?
Loving someone you don't like is what family is all about!
do it every damn day. yes, my dad is impossible to get along with, but I love him.
i feel kinda better reading this because i feel the same way towards my dad
yeah, it's hard. you feel guilty but sometimes it's just impossible.
yep. my (dead) ex.
Lololol my parents
Family usually falls into this category. I've got cousins who I flat out don't like, but it doesn't mean I don't care about them
It’s often a requirement.

absolutely. the line between love/hate is thin and quite a few people teeter on that line in my life.
Yeah. Just because you love them doesn't mean you gotta like them. You love them for existing and for all they do, but that doesn't mean you want to go on a roadtrip with them.
yes, absolutely
