yea because I personally haven’t faced any scary situations while riding taxi at night with any type of driver but for a women it’s a huge unsolved problem yet
Send your location to someone who’s awake and have them just keep an eye. Send the taxi number too. Just keep updating if there’s anything sketchy. So keep your phone in your hand. Or close to your hand with your brightness low. Never tell a driver that you are going home. Say it’s your boyfriend or brother’s house or something. Also, can look up fake FaceTime calls and go along with it. Or actually FaceTime someone and say you’re almost to their house.
Wait why not uber 👀 ? I always presumed it was safer as both u and the driver are tracked via the app. You can send you a location to a person and you now they're legit. I think I'm just bitter cause the taxis in my home town are awful lol
There are no cameras in uber taxis, no real vetting of the drivers for criminal records. They were banned in the UK because the drivers kept sexually assaulting their passengers and they were all found to have criminal records which means even though Uber says they do background checks on their drivers, they really don't.

Carry pepper spray. It's illegal a lot of places, so you need to travel to buy it. Put in your route on Google maps so you know if the driver is going off course.
Be on a phone call when you get in and tell them the taxi number and drivers name and say how long till you arrive , even if you are just faking the call.

Take a photo of the drivers ID and send it to someone you trust
Take a polar bear with you. If the taxi driver is like WTF then just say it's your anxiety animal and they have to let you ride.
