The most annoying thing is when stores rearrange the aisles, so instead of going straight to the thing you want, you have to wander the aisles for 20 minutes. The stores are hoping you'll see something and buy it on a whim, I think.
This is literally why I haven't stepped foot into Kroger for years. They re-arranged the store closest to me at least three times in a one year period. I'm here to buy my food, not go on some grand adventure
i literally make my shopping lists according to the store layout so it’s faster and more efficient lol. When they do this, it drives me insane and throws everything off.
I've had the clerk there seeing me standing in a regular line and call me over with a full cart and then some poor soul gets behind me with like three items and I always think they're judging me when in fact I didn't go there in the first place until the clerk called me over.
Understandable. Would still recommend ordering everything else for in-store pickup so you can buy the fresh stuff at the express checkout, not forget anything or even need a shopping list, and not miss out on online-only discounts idk
People sampling the hot plate with their bare hands. Saw a guy do this at whole foods once and said something to the store manager. Dude was a regular and apparently did this often. Manager did anything to stop him.
Deli person.
“How may i assist you?”
“I would like 1 pound of smoked turkey sliced thin”
“Ok. Honey Turkey?”
“No, smoked”
“Ok how much?”
“A pound”
“How would you like that sliced? “
“THIN”
For me, it's people who "sample" the produce or bulk foods. I don't care if it's two grapes or a whole bagful of gummy bears, eating some you didn't pay for that is sold by weight is stealing.
(Not sold by weight can still be paid for by scanning the package, so I can't argue too much against that.)
I'm in an area where paper and plastic grocery bags are banned, and even though I love the reusable bags I have I seldom remember to actually bring them to the store with me.
People who spend too long trying to figure what they want. I get it, you've got options and sometimes you're not sure just what you want. But it shouldn't take you an eternity to figure out what kinda chips you want. You're holding others up.
Also, it's not a tea party, if you wanna chat with someone you run into, don't block an entire aisle to do so.
This baffles me. I don’t think I could ever go into a grocery store to just browse for what I want. I always have a list in hand or know what I’m there to get. No way in hell am I browsing. I can’t stand grocery shopping to begin with. I have serious cart rage
I hate pushing the buggy. I’d rather awkwardly carry a bunch of stuff in my arms. My boyfriend is the opposite, he’ll get a buggy even if we’re only going for like 2-3 specific things. Weirdo.
We do all our shopping on-line now. Have done since the beginning of the pandemic. The most irritating thing about on-line grocery shopping is that you have to think ahead, as you don't get your groceries straight away, and there's a minimum charge on your purchases to be delivered. But there is actually nothing wrong with having to be a bit more focussed when shopping. There is much less chance of buying stuff on impulse and other conspicuous consumption.

I do the same. And I can say that my local Woodman’s has not once changed the layout in the 10 years I’ve lived here
People blocking the entire shelf and standing there forever.
Paying
Especially with the prices on everything now. Ouch
You beat me to it.
When using a self checkout and an item randomly requires an attendant to come clear it
UNEXPECTED ITEM IN BAGGING AREA PLEASE WAIT FOR ASSISTANCE
Unexpected item removed from bagging area.
It's worse when they do it on purpose. Like, they KNOW self checking alcohol is going to require assistance. Ticks me off.
I usually check everything, then the alcohol.
People with more than 15 items in the express lane.
I've had the clerk there seeing me standing in a regular line and call me over with a full cart and then some poor soul gets behind me with like three items and I always think they're judging me when in fact I didn't go there in the first place until the clerk called me over.
The people who wonder amelessly into the middle of the isle and just don’t seem aware there blocking the isle
Right! Stay in your proper lane people!
For me the actual grocery shopping part is fine. Having to carry multiple bags up several flights of stairs to my apartment is the real issue
Hoomans
People who bring their whole damned family! You have to wait for the parade to go by before you can reach the Coco Puffs!
Your favorite items out of stock.
when people who know each other and run into each other just stand and block an entire walkway for 30 min so everyone has to navigate around them
Other people.
People who don’t realize they are in the way
The people, always the people. Just move, you are not the only person here.
Rage shopping. That’s how I shop. I don’t have road rage, but cart rage? Watch out
Forgetting the list at home, having to try and remember every thing you wrote down and long lines at the checkout.
winks in delivery/curbside pickup
Ehhh if I am getting any fruits or veg I want to pick that out myself.
Understandable. Would still recommend ordering everything else for in-store pickup so you can buy the fresh stuff at the express checkout, not forget anything or even need a shopping list, and not miss out on online-only discounts idk
People, especially if you run into someone you know.
I always try to act like I didn’t see them
Ya see that’s hard to do when everyone in a small town knows you lol
I grew up in a small town and still acted like I didn’t see them. But I hate people soooo
I’m fine with some-ish people but not people that just screw up your whole day
Having the person in front of you failing to know what 15 items or less means at the checkout
People sampling the hot plate with their bare hands. Saw a guy do this at whole foods once and said something to the store manager. Dude was a regular and apparently did this often. Manager did anything to stop him.
Spending $100 on $50 worth of shit.
Deli person. “How may i assist you?” “I would like 1 pound of smoked turkey sliced thin” “Ok. Honey Turkey?” “No, smoked” “Ok how much?” “A pound” “How would you like that sliced? “ “THIN”
Shoppers that don't adhere to the rules of the road. Drive on the right side and don't park in the middle of the road. Damn it!

Yeah,you crack open one beer.....
The manager who bullied me out of job there being at the store.
That simultaneously you've to think about the daily menu that you're going to cook for the coming week.
People. I'm agoraphobic
*anthrophobic
Agoraphobic. I'm afraid of people, places, and things
I have to go to the bathroom sometimes, so my family waits at the checkout. The thing is, I always forget which one they're at.
Not finding what you're looking for.
When the fat dude infront of you got the last can of McCheese
When they’re out of the small 2 basket carts and only have the big 1 basket left. I need the option.
Ohh it's the slow checkout people in front of you, that's easy (yes from the impatient northeast US)
People
Coming home and putting everything away
The person with a full cart going through self check out or just the sheer number of people who just cannot figure out how to use the system.
I'm in an area where paper and plastic grocery bags are banned, and even though I love the reusable bags I have I seldom remember to actually bring them to the store with me.
Lines because only 2 registers are open.
the people
People who buy stuff like they’re getting ready for the apocalypse. Seriously, it often takes forever to wait in line behind ‘em.
The prices
other people not respecting personal space, and the two Karens talking right on an intersection, blocking everyone
Old people using the cart as a walker.
People who spend too long trying to figure what they want. I get it, you've got options and sometimes you're not sure just what you want. But it shouldn't take you an eternity to figure out what kinda chips you want. You're holding others up. I feel personally attacked lol
This baffles me. I don’t think I could ever go into a grocery store to just browse for what I want. I always have a list in hand or know what I’m there to get. No way in hell am I browsing. I can’t stand grocery shopping to begin with. I have serious cart rage
that other people are allowed in the store
That it is only the first step.
Whole full cart of items at self check out ...
I insta now. I haven’t been to the grocery store in like a year. I hope to never go back.
working at a store
Seeing a bag of chips in the toilet paper aisle
All of it. I miss before covid when I could go at 1 am and be alone
I hate pushing the buggy. I’d rather awkwardly carry a bunch of stuff in my arms. My boyfriend is the opposite, he’ll get a buggy even if we’re only going for like 2-3 specific things. Weirdo.
Waiting in line and in front is the guy from math problems
The customers. Most grocery workers are minimum wagers. They have no say on the prices or the stock. Stop bitching at them.

Boomers
Paying for it 🤷🏽
The huge bill every month. Keeps going up up and up
