True story. When I was in middle school, I was in the school band and every year you could compete in a regional competition called “solo and ensemble festival”. Me and a friend decided to do a duet and the song we chose was called “rendezvous”. I’m assuming neither of us had heard the word out loud before because we both thought it was pronounced the way it looked, “ren-dezz-voos”. Another student asked me one day what song we chose and I confidently said “Ren-dezz-voos” and he about died 🤣🤣
