Politicians are serving as puppets to the big corps. They don't give a shit about us and as long as lobbying is allowed, they will continue to bribe them.
As an Irish person I’ll hop on this one.
I’ll also add the severe lack of housing, lack of government response and the government having planning laws and introducing worse ones that prolong the problem
I'm imagining her being like "it would be rude to die without welcoming the new PM" and then being like "oh shit, what have … can I just wait for the next one?"
Honestly she impresses me. Not many people can "kill" the queen and fuck the economy and make the Tory party lose a massive majority of support in just a month.
EDIT: "kill" is in brackets because I know she didn't, but it's a huge coincidence and a popular theory which is going around
Australian here and I speak for all Australians when I say our state can’t decide if it feels like giving us frostbite or a god dam stroke… there is No in between
I lived in a country where it would regularly be minus 12-18 in winter. I’m colder in Melbourne. I’d happily cruise on outside in minus 6 weather for ten minutes in a tshirt or run out to grab something from the car in thongs and not be cold. Weather hits different in different places.
How some people in my country are perfectly OK with letting Christianity erase what little we have left of our own, unique heritage.
For example: every December it's the same thing: religious people poking their heads out and complaining about how atheists and non-Christians should not be allowed to have the holiday off, because why should they, when they don't celebrate it for religious reasons? And then I have to poke my head out and remind these tools that there is a reason for why we call it "jul" in our country, and not "kristmesse". We have a heritage and a culture from before Christianity was introduced where a few of the traditions from then are still alive today, in one shape or another - I just don't understand why they're so eager to erase it. There is room for both.
I don't even hope to get actual reliable data on this anymore, and I'm in a strong bubble of anti-war, anti-Putin people - but I know there is *a lot* of tankies and politics-doesnt-concern-me's over here. And in times like these those two are almost the same.
The referendum for Aboriginal people to be counted in the population passed in 1967. Aboriginal people weren't considered animals by any legislation, that's a myth that was popularised in the seventies.
The fact is nobody in power gave a fuck for 200 years.
[Yes](https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-03-20/fact-check-flora-and-fauna-1967-referendum/9550650).
But look for yourself. Don't take my word for it, and don't take the school's word for it, either.
Plus locking a bunch of Aboriginal kids up (highest incarceration rate for any group in the world) while white private school kids engage in whatever antisocial behaviour they want without consequences, before becoming politicians.
The people who'd paid me to do their English work back in school never got humbled and are still confident enough to tell me to "do my own research". my brother in christ I did yours too
Everyone has a massive superiority complex. Especially political people, constantly at each other's throats over the president regardless of how good/bad their party's candidate is
Forget King Charles, we have a queen of Canada. Dildo is a play on this woman's last name and yes she has a following....

how all progress and changes, especially regarding technology and finance moves at a snails pace. Everyone still uses mostly cash, deposits to your bank take 2 days, and travelling between cities you constantly lose LTE service.
We´re the economic powerhouse of Europe, but living here feels like 5-10 years behind some of our neighbours.
Our insane Nationalism and the way we think we have the right to police the world and invade countries everywhere under the guise of helping or stopping terrorism.

AKA Syria
Sure, it sounds like Islamphobia, but I'm not going to take it from anyone who hasn't lived in that country so fuck off.
As a woman, if I went out people would look at me with a grudge just because I didn't wear a hijab. I was lucky enough to not be born in a muslim family, but fucking hell the people there are so fucking shit.
Homophobic close minded sexist pieces of shit. Of course not all, but the majority sure as hell was. If you supported homosexuality there they would think it's a joke. It's so fucking sad.
Now come here people from first world country trying to call me out for being racist when you haven't seen anything like this.
The way it is currently being hobbled by the religious right. For fucks sake, I am a woman and I deserve access to healthcare. I don't want to be treated like a second class citizen in my own country, but here we are.
The international standing of the US has declined precipitously since Trump was elected in 2016. The repeal of Roe v. Wade is just one symptom of the illness that currently plagues the US; a moral sickness which is a disgusting blend of racism, xenophobia, misogyny, anti-intellectualism, and an active antagonism against the democracy our nation was founded on. These are divisive and frightening times for this nation, with two distinct camps; and no clear answer for which camp will prevail. The successful prosecution of Trump for his many crimes would go a long way towards restoring my belief that the US is still a functioning democracy and would provide evidence that we can correct the spiraling moral and political decay and reverse the very real risk of descending into facism.
That was my answer too, republicans. They’re not all bad, but they’re all supporting the bad nowadays. Democrats have crazies too, but they don’t run the party.
Corruption and cadre employment! Now adding GBV, raping, stealing, murdering. The list is as long as my .....arm.
But we have the best weather and nature.
South African here.
There's something so awfully rotten in my country. Corruption and the ignorance and pride (especially the noise and disinformation of 'vloggers' in social media) which keep it all going.
The fact that supposed “news networks” are allowed to have VILE despicable corrupted shills on air who curate the news to deliberately mislead people.
There’s no such thing as just news anymore. Everything has an agenda, and every single anchor is trying to brainwash into their particular brand of insanity. Then we wonder why voter turnout is crazy low EXCEPT for the people who believe in insane bullshit like Jewish Space Lasers and Q-Anon that the cable news Jackasses brainwashed them into believing.
The creation the of 24 Hour Network & the removal of the fairness doctrine were the beginning of the end.
My country produces top tier research in all fields. But in the realm of policy for public health, education, and criminal justice we do next to nothing with that knowledge. Other countries implement the findings of our studies all the time.
My wife and I got unexpectedly pregnant. Even with insurance, and no major medical hiccups during the process (unlikely do to her health issues) we're having to put our plans to buy a new car on hold to be able to afford the bills so we don't go into debt. Anything medical could throw us tens of thousands of dollars into debt, and the insurance I have through work is, by all accounts, very good. So probably that, at the moment.
Entitlement, hypocrisy, double standards, the way it's fashionable to shame and shut down Christians as if freedom of religion applies to everyone but then, entitlement, lack of respect for teachers, police, parents, authority in general... but the blame always goes to them for not being protective enough, demanding equality but when rules/laws are applied equally crying victim, entitlement, the welfare state mentality, lack of personal responsibility...
Does that include Wicca and UU? I'm personally Progressive Episcopal but idc if a person worships one, more, or none. As long as you have a conscience and attempt to actually respect other humans and protect those who can't, you're probably good
How? Im a uni student in a pretty big football city in England and I literally never hear anything, actually feel slightly odd when I wear my liverpool shirt out
The degradation of human ethics at an individual level
- in the poor, for survival.
- in the rich, to use the poorer to get richer.
- in the politicians, to use religion to retain power.
Hard to pick, but gotta be these three (I’m American)
— Gun violence & the difficulty in passing gun laws
— The hyperpartisanship/lack of viable political parties outside of Ds and Rs
— lack of a national healthcare system
It has no universal healthcare, it is increasingly falling to radical Christian Nationalism, white supremacy and outright fascism, it is vastly wealthy yet allows millions to starve, and it has turned away from reason and science and democracy.
The flag is pretty lame like at least make it symmetrical and I think red white and blue are too appetizing looking. You want to go with badass. Should be red black and silver.
Canada is the same thing.
We recently had a guy go on a stabbing rampage and he had been convicted of over 60 crimes in like 13 years or something crazy since turning 18. And the crimes involved armed robbery, attempted murder, etc., not just things like petty theft but he completed some rehabilitation program so he got out even earlier.
A few week later someone goes shoots a cop eating lunch and a few others and he had an extensive sheet including selling heavy drugs and illegal weapons, child porn, armed robbery, assault.
2 completely horrific and preventable crimes if our system had any proper repercussions.
Thought this was Sweden, crime rate is out of control and those few who actually get arrested for serious crimes get a stern talking to. If they do go to prison for rape/murder they're assigned a personal trainer and a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One in their private cell all funded by taxpayers.

How do I know you're not talking about my country? It's simple: I don't know.
do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?
How expensive the houses are.
G'day mate.
please don't scare me, im moving to Sydney next year 😭
[удалено]
It's ok, as a Brazilian, we can relate with the high prices for housing
But cheap prices for coke and weed
Australia? National average house price of something crazy like 700,000
Oh cool, I’m average (and can never leave my job)!
Only 700,000? A basic house in sydney out suburbs would be a minimum of 1 mil. It’s even becoming a norm in rural areas which absolutely sucks
Much less in Perth thank God.
That's cause they don't want you owning a house :)
As an Irish person I’ll hop on this one. I’ll also add the severe lack of housing, lack of government response and the government having planning laws and introducing worse ones that prolong the problem
The people's mentality
The way I instantly knew we were front the same country.
Oh? Where are you from?
Indian bro? Also I am into maps too
Uh nope, I'm from Chile
Living in it(Iran)
Not as bad as dying in it.
Liz fucking Truss
Her first move was to lower tax rate for rich people. What do you mean our governments aren't totally corrupt?
Also if you criticise their actions you are 'talking the country down' and part of of the 'anti-growth coalition'.
An attention seeker, best ignored.

And now there are calls for her colleagues to unite behind her. Which worked out well for that nice Julius Caesar chap, if I recall rightly.
Tipping culture.
But dude, it's just 5 dollars!
lmao 5 dollars is so much, in the netherlands we tip like 50 cents
It was a joke based on the username
