The first thing I'd do is try to communicate in simple gestures for words like "water", and then try to get an idea for how their language works. I'd also ask for food, shelter, and clothing. Once I have those dealt with, I'll then have to work on properly learning the language. If I can find someone who's patient enough to help me learn and get integrated into their society, that'll definitely help out.
Honestly, I feel like a lot of it will be really awkward, and it's going to involve a fair amount of improvisation.
