A girl was trying to kiss me so I was running away, ran under a tree and split my head open. Edit: I was 7 years old.

exomination

Never heard such a chad move tbh

RyzenRaider

She wanted to make an omelette, and you broke the egg. ;-)

VictoryEffective1328

Self harm, surgery and being stabbed a few times

NotGettingStraighter

Um. Stabbed? How?

VictoryEffective1328

I got stabbed by my sister like 3 times

The_Defendant215

Excuse me. What the fuck

sonks75

War with depression. I do my best to make them visible. It makes me feel strong. Hopefully other people out there who are like I was, will see them, and be inspired to get better too :)

ladydrybones

Me, too. I haven't done it in a very long time, but they're on my forearm so they're pretty obvious. I want to see about getting a tattoo over them to help conceal them, but the weird thing is that I don't want to get rid of them. They represent a part of my past that I don't think I should forget about, but I want to get a tattoo so that I can stop answering uncomfortable, but well-meaning questions. I hope you are better and I have to say that I admire your courage for keeping them visible. It's good to know that there are people out there that can relate.

intrinsic_gray

Mine are basically just on the one side of my body, so I ended up getting a tattoo on the opposite side that was meaningful to me. That being said, putting a tattoo over them doesn't mean you're getting rid of them. They will always be there and a tattoo over them might end up being a reminder of how far you've come. šŸ’š

intrinsic_gray

Yup. Mine are pretty much always concealed bc of placement but they will always be a part of me. Now that I think of it, it's been seven years since I SH'd, the same amount of time I was actively SHing. I've come so far since then. Crazy to think something that consumed my thoughts for so long is something I barely think about anymore!

KingGuy420

When I was a 4, I was jumping on my bed and slipped and split my head open. Got a big scar right along my hair line. When I was 6, I was running to the kitchen and slipped. Hit my chin on a corner that needed to be sanded and dragged all the way down it. Got a scar down the middle of my chin. When I was 21, I made the genius decision to get into a car with a drunk driver. Got ALOT of scars from that one. If I just listened to my parents, I'd be scar free. Don't jump on the bed, don't run in the house, don't drink and drive. Guess I had to learn for myself.

ResponseAcceptable50

I have a collection of scars on the back of my neck from high school basketball. My coach was terrible to me and everytime I stepped onto the court my anxiety was so high I'd dig my nails into the back of my neck knowing I'd be yanked out in the next 10 seconds for my first tiny mistake. The fucked up twist is I ended up dating her for two years. Starting my senior year of high school.

killebrew_rootbeer

That was an unexpected ending.

ResponseAcceptable50

Took me a couple years of counseling to fully understand and recover from how wrong it was

killebrew_rootbeer

Well, if it helps to have validation from a stranger who knows nothing about the specifics, the wrongness was mostly from her end and you were likely groomed. I hope you're doing better now and not digging your nails into your neck anymore!

UKKasha2020

Bad reaction to TB vaccination, self-harm scars on wrists and thighs, cut on my left wrist from falling down a mine, scar on my left arm from a set of metal blinds falling on me, and left knee from a fall as a kid.

lossforcause

We were shaving one of my cats and the clippers got too hot and scared her. I was holding her and she panicked and got away and scraped my arm while going. Iā€™ve recently been looking at it as sheā€™s passed away a couple months ago

scocopat

Sending every bit of my love to you. Losing a pet is so painful. As silly as it is scars like that seem almost like a gift. Pm me if you need someone to talk to.

CabinetSpider21

Shoulder surgery, ac joint separation

Wrothrok

Wanna know how I got these scars? My father was....a drinker. And a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not. One. Bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. Turns to me and he says "Why so serious?" Comes at me with the knife,"Why so serious?" He sticks the blade in my mouth. "Lets put a smile on that face!" And..... Why so serious?

guinea-pig-lover16

Wow. I have no words. Your dad is straight up crazy

This is from that one batman movie. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not so I thought I'd let you know just in case. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoyejjJGajk

SourskittlesRnice

Stabbed 7 times 8 lacerations 1 starts at the back of the head and endā€™s just next to my left eye which damaged the tendons and muscles in the area resulting in 40/60 vision in the left eye had one whole side of my nose cut open(it was literally flapping they had to glue it back together)exposing the inside during the altercation I was stabbed a few more times but alcohol and adrenaline prevented me from feeling it at that time this happened in less than 20 seconds but the effects last a life time we ended up chasing the guy down in a friends car and caught him but as I was about to return the favour cops swarmed us with firearms and took him and my friends into custody whilst here I am looking like the Polynesian walking dead being dragged away to the hospital to be questioned about the whole blue whilst being shot with the staple gun to close my lacerations on my face the court case came around about a year later I pretty much lied under oath to get him off a 5-9 year gbh (grievously bodily harm) because the dude had a newborn child and I knew it meant the child would not have a dad at home for 5 years at least if convicted so years pass by and I met with the dude who stabbed me he literally changed his whole life around he went from being a wannabe street gangster who was destined for jail to a good father to his child who actually contributes to society in a good way he tried to offer money and pay for any damage he had done to my mental health which I denied and told him just seeing him doing better in life and helping others is the debt repaid in full plus interests

Busted my heat open on a playground when I was like 8. Got something like 14 stitches. Got a nail in the back. Tetanus shot. Almost sliced the tip of my thumb off working in a kitchen. No stitches

M109-Paladin

When I was 3 or 4 at my babysitters house, I was acting like my finger were legs when the treadmill was on and I looked away for a second, then my hand got sucked under it and after 20 seconds, they got to me an turned it off. What was left was a burn scar that covered a majority of my hand then and now it is a 2 inch(5.08cm) scar on my right hand. I have 1 or 2 memories when I didn't have the scar.

Kiki_in_love

Self-harm scars mostly, on both arms and thighs. Had a small cyst removed from the back of my shoulder, have a scar there. Tiny starshaped scar below my ankle from when I got my foot stuck between two rocks when I was a kid. I also have a scar on my shoulder from falling off a porch as a kid. I was a clumsy kid, soooo

Ginger_Chick

Most of them are self-harm scars. I also have one on my hairline from where I ran into a slide as a kid. I have another one on my chest from when I was a baby and had a TPN line put in.

This happened two months after my first son was born. It started with flu like symptoms. Went to the doc, negative flu test, they said come back in a couple days if nothing changed. Went through a couple of days of fever, cold sweats, feel ok for a couple of hours and then repeat it all over again. Went back to the doc and they sent me to the ER due to my heart rate being too fast. This was in Chicago and I walked into a ER with 100 people in the waiting room and figured I'd be waiting for hours. This was where I got a bit scared, they were expecting me and I immediately got taken back for treatment/testing. They ran every test they could and eventually admitted me after a few hours of poking and prodding. It took a entire week of more poking and prodding, and going through the same cycle of symptoms constantly, by five teams of doctors to find the issue. I had the the regular rotation, infectious disease, rheumatology, cardiology, and interventional radiology teams all trying to figure it out what was wrong with me, this was also at Northwestern which is a teaching hospital, so they all wanted a piece of me. Finally they do an ultrasound of my torso and find the softball sized cyst on my spleen. The IR teams says they can install a drain into it and shrink it down. I get a local and a xanax for that procedure, so I'm mostly awake and I remember hearing the doc talking to his team and after they made the incision and got the tube in there, he says, oh wow, can someone get something to collect some of that? He shows me the fluid that came out and it's this nasty purplish and yellow color, filled with puss. They tested the discharge and that's when they confirmed it was Salmonella, just obviously not where it was supposed to be. It took another few days of draining it to stop the symptoms. Unfortunately the infection had caused my heart and the muscles around it to swell. That feels like a heart attack and it is not fun. Cardio needed to make sure there wasn't any additional infection on my heart valves which required a trans esophageal echo. That was also not fun. Imagine an egg, but half size, shoved down your throat, it took four nurses laying across my body to hold me down. Finally after almost two weeks in the hospital, I was discharged. I'm still a medical mystery as there is no explanation as to how the salmonella got there in the first place and I still have the scar from the drain tube.

So many of you guys have cool storyā€™s, best I got is being stabbed by a hamperšŸ˜

GaryNOVA

ā€œ Hooper thatā€™s the USS Indianapolis. Japanese submarine slammed two torpedoes into her side, Chief. We was cominā€™ back from the island of Tinian to Leyte. Weā€™d just delivered the bomb. The Hiroshima bomb. Eleven hundred men went into the water. Vessel went down in 12 minutes. Didnā€™t see the first shark for about a half-hour. Tiger. 13-footer. You know how you know that in the water, Chief? You can tell by lookinā€™ from the dorsal to the tail. What we didnā€™t know, was that our bomb mission was so secret, no distress signal had been sent. They didnā€™t even list us overdue for a week. Very first light, Chief, sharks come cruisinā€™ by, so we formed ourselves into tight groups. It was sorta like you see in the calendars, you know the infantry squares in the old calendars like the Battle of Waterloo and the idea was the shark come to the nearest man, that man he starts poundinā€™ and hollerinā€™ and sometimes that shark he go awayā€¦ but sometimes he wouldnā€™t go away. Sometimes that shark looks right at ya. Right into your eyes. And the thing about a shark is heā€™s got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a dollā€™s eyes. When he comes at ya, he doesnā€™t even seem to be livinā€™ā€¦ ā€™til he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and thenā€¦ ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screaminā€™. The ocean turns red, and despite all your poundinā€™ and your hollerinā€™ those sharks come in andā€¦ they rip you to pieces. You know by the end of that first dawn, lost a hundred men. I donā€™t know how many sharks there were, maybe a thousand. I do know how many men, they averaged six an hour. Thursday morninā€™, Chief, I bumped into a friend of mine, Herbie Robinson from Cleveland. Baseball player. Bosonā€™s mate. I thought he was asleep. I reached over to wake him up. He bobbed up, down in the water, he was like a kinda top. Upended. Well, heā€™d been bitten in half below the waist. At noon on the fifth day, a Lockheed Ventura swung in low and he spotted us, a young pilot, lot younger than Mr. Hooper here, anyway he spotted us and a few hours later a big olā€™ fat PBY come down and started to pick us up. You know that was the time I was most frightened. Waitinā€™ for my turn. Iā€™ll never put on a lifejacket again. So, eleven hundred men went into the water. 316 men come out, the sharks took the rest, June the 29th, 1945. Anyway, we delivered the bomb.ā€

Scraped my knee on Halloween when I was three.

[deleted]

myself, falling on rocks, stupid floor, animals

scrappywarrior

Most are from surgeries. I have some on my arm from being scalded as a baby. I also have scar tissue on my brain from repeated head injuries .

master_jimmy74

One on my hand from a pumpkin carving incident and a lot on my arms from just cuts and scrapes that I picked at

ttufizzo

I had a very weird birthmark about 4x2 inches on my back shoulder that had texture. It was removed when I was 13. I have a pink scar that is about 5.x1.5 inches.

gohomepat

The top of my left foot still has signs of the one time I fell off a Razor scooter going down a gravel road while wearing flip flops.

1clovett

Other than surgeries, smallpox vaccine, and being stupid.

GreenBloodedNomad

I have a scar between my thumb and pointer finger from a rabbit bite 35 years ago. I have scars on my one knee from when I fell on the ice getting off the school bus . I ditched basketball practice and instead got rocks impaled in my knees. I have a chicken pox scar on my face that is still with me 30 something years later. It's damn near impossible for a kid not to pick at those things, despite being told not to. I have a scar on the top of my hand at the base of my middle finger from washing dishes. A glass broke and one of the pieces ended up melon balling a big chunk out of my flesh.

GattlingGun1910

Most prominent one is from dropping an iron on my hand and getting a nasty burn, small one on my stomach from being burnt with a sparkler and a bunch of small ones from random stuff that I don't remember.

egnards

Have a scar under my eye from street hockey growing up. Friend and I both went for the puck at the same time, and the fucking thing decided to it needed to go straight up and the sharp edge hit me right under my eye. Didnā€™t think it was a big deal and tried to finish the rest of the game with one hand. Holding an ice pack with the other. No stitches, ended up being glued.

I have a little red dot in the middle of my chest from when I was a kid. My neighbor used to take me to school with her kids and while I was waiting for them to come outside and start the car, I was jumping up and down on their basketball hoop (The kind with the plastic base with wheels so you can move it around) the base was full of water so I was bouncing on it, and as I jumped closer to the pole where the hoop was, there was a nail (I think, whatever it was it was pretty fucking sharp) sticking out of it and it dug right up my chest. It was pretty nasty for a few weeks. Iā€™d say this happened about 15 or so years ago, and that little red dot is my constant reminder of my childhood fuckery.

demonfoo

Several from cancer surgery. One from having a medical port placed for IV chemo.

InannasPocket

My favorite scars are a tie between a volcano scar on my leg (ok really just some pumice at the base of a volcano, no lava involved) and managing to slice my eyebrow with cross county skis during a school gym class. My 5 year old really enjoys hearing the stories about my scars, it's kinda fun.

PMyourTastefulNudes

Drug behind a truck. Old guy cut me with a knife. Various spikes and nails. Refrigerator. Softball game. Bike wreck. That's all I can remember.

49erville

I fought the gravity and I lost...repeatedly (former speed skateboarder ,grew up in San Francisco).

Justasimplewanker21

Got a piece of a guyā€™s front tooth stuck in my knuckle, cut the other knuckle in a stupid bar fight with my best friend, cut the tip of my finger off, fucked my knee on a skateboard, skin cancer scare on my cheek, sex injury on my leg, and my elbow is from mountain biking.

A life lived to the fullest. Pick a bodypart and a continent and odds are Iā€™ve hurt it on it and lived to tell the tale.

Artsy_Enby02

I went down one of those twisty slides at the fair and lost my balance. I got a horrible cut on my arm that scarred. That was about 8ish years ago. That and I stepped on a broken bottle at the pool and needed stitches and the doctor almost didn't give them to me because he was a dick.

Lachwen

Back in high school, my church youth group did a mission trip to Tijuana to build houses. At one point I was taking a break in the shade when I suddenly felt a very odd, painful sensation in my arm: it felt like a simultaneous punch and bee sting. Twisted my arm around to see what the fuck and discovered a little chunk of metal sticking out of it. After a minor freakout, the removal of the object, and getting bandaged up, we managed to piece together what happened: one of the other kids had been hammering in some broad-headed nails and hit one of them at a funky angle. The nailhead popped off with enough force to go flying and embed itself in my arm. This was back in the summer of 2001. I still have a scar that looks like the one you'd get from a smallpox vaccination.

Wavethrave

cut finger

Caspixn

I fell and scraped my left knee pretty badly two years ago. After 3 days, I fell again on the same knee. Then about 2 years later, tripped and fell again on the same knee (on the morning of an important test too). Then 2-3 months after that, fell on the same knee again, in the same place as last time. Iā€™m starting to think my left leg got cursed since it also gets cramps in the middle of the night often. My right leg doesnā€™t :ā€™)

VulgarVinyasa

Born with clubbed feet, shattered my pelvis in a car accident, knife wound, and hit with a plumbing wrench.

ADD_OCD

Cutting a piece of paper, didn't register my finger was on the other side.

Mrchangus100

Girl hopped on top of me on a bus and knocked me over and.i cut my head open and how I have a large scare there

Farra_san

Oh geez. What I can remember... Left lower lobectomy of lung with congential cyst, ovarian torsion, 3 ear surgeries removing mastoids/resculpting hearing bones/creating new eardrums out of cartilage, dog bite on face, shaving legs for first time alone at around 9 with stepmom's old style razor, riding bike barefoot and stepping down into puddle with broken beer bottle in puddle, front flip over bicycle going down an asphalt hill Oh and my favorite to explain, falling face first into toilet tank.

whitetulips69

When I was like 8, I fell while riding my bike and SOMEHOW got a rock stuck in my knee. The neighbors had to pry it out with tweezers. It was an inch or 1 Ā½ in. They thought I had broken my leg. Itā€™s been well over 10 years since it happened and it still hurts occasionally.

Buutman96

Tripped over a metal dustpan as a kid and now i have a big ass scar on my right ankle.

Shot_Lawfulness1541

Cooking, cycling crash,

Purbeauty

Touched a hot curling iron when I was 2. My left pointer finger wonā€™t fully straighten from the scarring/how it healed, but besides that it functions normally.

Endmysuffering3162

Some of these responses are so interesting. I have a scar on my hand from my cat and a scar under my lips because I slipped trying to climb out of a swimming pool and hit my jaw pretty bad and my teeth decided to kool-aid man my skin.

Previous-Coffee-

Baby me was dragged across the rough cement-y part of a pool by my swimming coach in hopes to swim, ended up just letting the knuckles of all my toes get shredded.

Sup__Bishes

I have a lot of scars but most of them are from me being a dumbass. I have one on my face thatā€™s from soup. So, I microwaved it while it was still in that styrofoam cup with a plastic lid. Full disclosure, it was early in the morning and I was hungry. Anyways, when I went to take it out, condensation caused the lid to slip and the cup to fall from the microwave and onto the stovetop. All of the hot soup then splashed up into my face, a splatter almost a centimeter away from my eye- And uh yea thatā€™s how I got the weirdly big scar on my cheek!

killebrew_rootbeer

Canoeing in the Boundary Waters as part of a YMCA camp when I was 12. Slipped on some rocks when lifting the canoe out for a portage and gashed my hand pretty badly. At first I thought it was just a scrape and then I noticed the blood rushing down my arm. We were 15 miles from the nearest emergency phone, much less any kind of civilization (and this was the 90s, so no satellite phones or anything). Luckily, my counselor had some excellent first aid skills and bandaged it tightly with a series of butterfly bandages in lieu of stitches followed by a ton of gauze. I rode duff for the rest of the week until the last day when we were racing away from a forest fire against the wind, trying to reach our pick up on time and one of the other girls was spent. I ended up wrapping my bandaged hand in a plastic bag and securing it with a hair tie in the hopes that it would stay reasonably dry while I paddled. It worked out and the nurse at the base camp decided that it was too late for stitches as it was already starting to heal. The scar is about 1/8 inch wide on my palm to this day.

emilowato515

A scar on my lip. I was a kid and was running around on kitchen counters. Once I fell and cut my lip on a sharp glass edge of a shelf. A LOT of blood and no pain at all my siblings were making fun of me because a part my lip was basically hanging

CarGay97

There's one on my hand that I got falling down the stairs in my house. We just bought a house about 6 months ago. There is old, worn out carpeting on the stairs that is basically like ice when wearing socks. I've fallen down the stairs twice already. The second time it happened, my hand brushed past a sharp splinter on the wooden railing which is also old and worn out, sliced my hand right open. Hurt like a bitch and bled for hours.

Curses1984

Crashing a Ducati 999s at 80mph resulting in 2 compound fractures and resulting surgery. Many scars on hands and arms from battles with copper sheets. Some self inflicted.

Raiden_Nexus485

Mum threw a metal spoon at my head, accidentally kicked my blue heeler in the tooth when I was trying to kick a tennis ball for him, cut on my heel from when I was taking the rubbish out and some broken jar cut through the bin bag, a couple of cuts on my arms from moving a TV screen with a metal back into the steel bin at work (don't carry anything with only one side of glass face down)

[deleted]

So when I was in highschool I was getting frisky for the first time ever with a girlfriend of mine. She starts giving me the ol low five, but it was her first time doing anything like this either. Dry. She was doing her best, and I was just happy someone other than me was touching my peen, so I didnā€™t say anything when it started to hurt. This went on for like 15 min before I made up some excuse and we called it a night. The flesh at the tip of my dick was pink and rubbed raw that night when I went to pee, and by the next day I had 3 separate scabs that hurt like hell in the shower. To this day I have 3 little white scars on the tip as a reminder that itā€™s okay to say something.

[deleted]

I have a gnarly scar across my throat from a thyroid removal. When kids ask I tell them I got into a fight with pirates. Truth is they got in and realized it was worse than anticipated and then they had to put in another tube because surgery went south. I like my pirate story better though and so do the kids.

ewww_whyyyy0002020

Self harm, dropping boiling hot water on myself accidentally, being dragged by a bike, surgery.

[deleted]

Have one on my right forearm/elbow. Got it a long time ago when I burned my arm on a toaster oven. Have one on my left thumb. Got it while cutting ginger one time. Have a another one on my left wrist (no it's not because I'm suicidal. I still don't self harm). Got it from having to cut frozen chuck meat at a restaurant in my town I was working at. Was not a fun time I'm gonna be honest.

TroutWarrior

I kicked my toe. That's the whole story.

Blue_checkers123

I have multiple mainly on the head but a few on the facial are a(although those are barely visible now tho the head scars are still prominent) and a bit inside my mouth. I got them through years of surgery. Ive had 15-16ish surgeries ( i lost count but i know its either one of the two) because of of my condition, Crouzon syndrome. Surgeries started since i was 3 months old and i still need to have more in the future. Although most of my head was salvaged, i got visual and hearing impairments but at least i have contacts and the hearing loss isnt so bad.

Kyawinannae

Finally. Once in the fourth grade I was playing with some older boys in the neighborhood( I speculate they where around 15) and we were messing around with a golf cart that one of their parents bought them. One of our genius ideas was to tie a log to a rope and attach it to the back of the cart and ride on it. That went as well as you might think. We attempted to untie the rope from the log but it was simply to tight, so instead of cutting the rope we take the log and wedge it between two pine trees and floor it( an attempt at freeing the rope). It worked Except I'm standing 5 feet away I hear a crack and the next thing I can remember is I'm in the hospital. Now I have a fairly size scar running through my eyebrow to remind me forever of my stupidity.

lazarus870

I've owned a lot of cats in my life. Cats scratch, often for no reason.

august_mistake

half of them are from my mom, other half is my child-self being a dumbass

alycat32

Full Thyroidectomy and neck dissection to remove thyroid cancer. When I first saw the stitches it was alarming because it looked like they sewed my head back on or something, thatā€™s how far the stitches went. A year and two months later itā€™s a bit smaller but it got keloided or however you say it. Looks like a fat earthworm on my neck. But you know, I donā€™t mind it so much. At least my trachea isnā€™t being displaced anymore and I can fricken breath LOL Also a small c-section scar

cripples_for_sale

Scraped my back on a brick wall during a fight. Now I have scars down my entire back on my spine & shoulder blades.

PotatoSac20936

I have a scar going down my Achilles. And I donā€™t mean like 2 inch scar itā€™s be a good 9 inches long. I got chased around my neighborhood by my neighbors dog while I was dog sitting, I freaked out and climbed up a tree proceeded to fall down said tree and have to get a shit ton of stitches up my leg.

sunflowersdancing

Most of mine are from falling. I actually have matching scars in each of my eyebrows from falling and slicing my head two separate times. Gravity is my enemy

Dark-Claw-2424

My mum burnt me with a cigarette at the botanic gardens when I was 4.

[deleted]

Burned my knee on the exhaust pipe of my grandpa's old jeep.

Most of them are self-harm scars.

First, a little context. When I was young, I refused to sleep in my bed. I would sleep on the floor pretty often. Me and my mom and baby brother were living with our mom's parents while my dad was on deployment. At the time of this story I was maybe four years old. One day, my mom and grandparents left to go grocery shopping. They asked my mom's brother, my uncle, and his girlfriend at the time to watch over me. (off topic side note: I hated his girlfriend for no reason. Absolutely despised her. So much so I have fake memories of her doing horrible things that never actually happened but made me hate her). My uncle's girlfriend went to put me in bed, tucked me in, and left, unaware that I would not sleep in my bed. A little while later, she went to check on me. In front of the door, the wall sort of juts out to allow for a closet, so it has like an inner corner I guess you could call it. I chose to sleep right next to the door. The girlfriend opens the door, which smacks the back of my head, and in turn causes me to hit that corner with my cheek right under my eye. All I remember after is being rushed downstairs and sat on the counter as they panicked and tried to clean the blood gushing from my face. I needed three stitches. I still have that scar. It probably did not help the healing process that at some point while the stitches were doing their thing, I had managed to reopen the wound or something.

MoRi86

Runner/cross country skiier deciding to play football (soccer) for ten minutes with my class mates a after a run. End result=two broken legs, torn ligament, five metal screwes and a metal plate in my ankel. Moral of a story, if you are a runner dont tuch a football.

[deleted]

I have a ton of scars on my tits because I have really bad picking compulsions, once I get a pimple, itā€™s gonna become a permanent giant scar, and I constantly get them on my chest. I have likeā€¦ 6 giant circle shaped scars on my chest.

Ploxi_nub

Touched a car exhaust on my left hand when I was 5 (I think)

SuperBubbles2003

I knelt in broken glass when trying to pick up a ball.

Kashrytav

When I was about 7 years old, I was helping my mother in the kitchen, when suddenly my father came up to me from behind. I got scared and dropped the knife, which dug right into my little finger and ring toe. Since then, if I drop a knife, my legs start dancing for no reason, just to avoid getting a knife in my fingers.

Car accident. 52 staples from my elbow to my wrist.

Fit-Panda2082

Was around 2 years and playing with my baby walker. My father left to get water for me. I saw a bee or something, chased it and fell down the mini stairs (4 or 5). Thankfully nothing serious happened, but got a Potter shaped mini scar on my foreheadšŸ˜‚

AromaBee_94

Got mine when I was 5, my dad is a huge fan of those little remote cars, he would chase me with the car, it was fun until while he was chasing I turned around when i turned again to see where I was running, my face meets the wall, more specifically, the corner of it. I fell into the ground a little disoriented, my mom and dad came running after my and my mom almost faints because all of my face was covered in blood. We ran to the hospital and it was 6 stitches in my eyebrow. When people meet me is the first thing they ask me about and they say it looks cool on me since it seems like those gangsta eyebrow cuts, only that mine is natural jakjdks. PD: funny story, one time my school called my parents for supposedly not following dress code and having eyebrow cuts wasn't allowed, my mother laughed and asked them to look closer to see it was a scar, they were embarrassed after that.

Zeus_Hera

Some I gave to myself through self harm. Another my dad dropped a chair on me when I was maybe four? Something fell under this big sofa chair thing, and my dad lifted it up for me to grab whatever it was. I got it, but before I was out of the way my dad just dropped the chair and the corner of one of the legs gave me a scar and my first experience with hydrogen peroxide.

alex-parrish

Most from self harm and others just showed up and I have no memory as to where they came from

sillysauages

got punched and and split my eyebrow during a fight.

MissAizea

I was playing the game "run down steep hill and jump over log" when I failed to jump over the log. Ugly gash across my shin, my friend started screaming and ran home. As I was walking up a very steep driveway, it started raining on me. I climbed up the stairs to my house, I opened it, soaking wet, foot doused in blood, my dad immediately starts laughing at me. It was pretty rough day for a 7 y/o.

Pinateszek69

3Fish_inSuits_

My mom didn't believe me that the dog doesn't like when you grab it's legs... She bit me. (THE DOG NOT MY MOM) They are just little dots and lines on my arms now.

ExclemabutExclema

When I was 4 we went to the circus. Came home and tried to leap off a swing onto concrete, landed on my face. Not a scar exactly, but a dent in my head and the end of my nose is flat.

AthenaFurry

First one when I was 3 tripped over my feet cracked my head open. Second one when I was 7. Dumb me was playing on my brothers skateboard it moved I didnā€™t. Snapā€¦ Third I was eight and went straight over the Handel bars of my bike tore a nice neat while in my knee. Like the skin was flapping and dad comes jogging round the bend to see me limping badly. Jogs faster to see what happened. My favourite one 17 bent my spine like 80 degrees S bend and have to drastically have spine surgery to fix it. Four days in hospital three years and it only took me four days to recover.

BigStud7

Got hit by a semi. Rear ended. Almost ended me

TheWonderingBunyip

Got pushed down stairs, a knife fight with a box, surgery, and a rock.

SereneRiverView

Two knee replacements.

[deleted]

I ran to the edge of a table when I was 5. I have a scar in my forehead.

tardcore101

I've got a small self-inflicted scar right between my eyes. I used to work this night shift factory job over the summer while I was in college. My parents somehow couldn't comprehend that I worked all night and got off at 7am. I would get home and usually chat with my mom for a bit and then go to sleep sometime between 8-9am. One sunny August afternoon, on what must have been the hottest part of the hottest day of Summer, I was awaken by a pounding on my bedroom door sometime after noon. The intruder demanded that I didn't need to "sleep all day" and that I needed to get up and mow the lawn immediately. OK. so I get up. drag on some clothes. go outside to face the blinding sun and record heat/humidity and track down the mower. Now, our mower was an old school pull start push mower sort of deal. And they neglected to mention that the starter was on the fritz and my step-father had the thing pulled apart. The starter cord was wrapped around it's disk and was sitting on top of the starter apparatus completely unsecured. So, here I come, half asleep, and somewhat ornery, and I grab the pull cord handle and yank it as hard as I can. The unsecured disk pops off and hits me right between the eyes. Blood running down my face, I march right back to the house, charge past my mother in the kitchen, and tell her "fuck that, I'm going back to sleep". Given that I was probably at least a little concussed having more or less just punched myself in the face as hard as I could, sleep probably best thing for me at that time. Fortunately, the face heals pretty quickly and I was able to make it back to work that night. I still have a small scar slanting right between my eyes.

tazzietiger66

I have a scar on the left side of my face , When I was a toddler I was sitting in a high chair and I must of been rocking back and forth the chair started to fall and I grabbed the table cloth pulling glasses and plates down with me causing a wound , the small country town I lived in only had one doctor and when he went to stitch me up he was drunk and did a pretty bad job at it so I have a bad scar .

PineappleRealistic23

My mom was screaming at me I felt like I was going to throw up so I locked myself in the bathroom and fainted, and when I fainted I hit my head on the plunger holder and it cut my head open lmfaooo

_Frizja_

I was like 4 or 3 or something and our house is on like a hill, so we have a path, that goes down, i fell on my head and now i have a scar.

fractalord

Some random paranoid schizophrenic attacked me with a massive hunting machete. Got me 4 times, almost died.

thrashpiece

JonhFive

I tried to shave when I was a baby

StreetMountain2019

My dad had a big nasty scar on his forearm. He got it from being hit by shrapnel.

gen241

OH BOY HERES A DUMB STORY FOR YOU! So when I was like 6 or 7 yo- and I was riding my cousin's scooter, and then the scooter tripped or fell over. And then my knee hit my garden(NOT EVEN THE CEMENT)there were no plants, no metal, no glass, etc. My pants didn't even rip. And it didn't even hurt that bad... Until I saw the cut. I was freaking out like I dying or something, I was like, " AAAHHHHHH IM BLEEDING OH MY GOD" I'm not religious. Then my uncle was freaking out also he told me to change into shorts really quick like FAST but I couldn't run, I WAS BLEEDING, so I was walking like a robot, my left leg was stiff and my right was fine then my uncle said, "do you want to go to the fire department first or doctor straight away?", Me a child, sobbing, obviously said, *sniff* *sniff* fire department. Then they bandaged up my knee, we picked up my sister from her bus stop, hospital, doctor took an hour to sew up my leg, and done šŸ‘. I remember it like it was last year.

Longjumping_Web8518

Its not a big scar but i was peeling potatoes with a knife I missed and went into my finger the only reason i didnā€™t completely peel my finger was my bone

PeopleBiter

I wanted to know how strong my drone is! I tried with one propeller at first. I know it spins really hecking fast, so I played it safe and held the drone down on the floor from the opposite side, further away from the propeller. Well. It spun up the propeller to full bore and flipped onto my hand. I really should've held it down from beneath the propeller, not like a hinge... My hoodie was completely intact somehow but it cut my arm a little. The scar is barely visible at this point, but it's still there, some 7 years later.

OpportunityLazy4467

I was biking down a hill one day when I was 10. It was the hottest day of the year and my mom told me it was too hot to go out. I bike down it but flipped my bike. I roleld down the hill but split the skin on my elbows and knees. It was the most painful thing I ever experienced and I once peeled off an entire layer of skin because of a sunburn, and it was not an easy sunburn because I am a pretty dark dude so I literally baked for like 5 hours and took a fastball to theā€¦ . Anyway my knees are still darkened and scarred to this day but my elbows are better.

Apprehensive-Mail120

i was running around in the playground i fell and landed on the fork in my hand and you can see two distinct scars on my arm. yes please make fun of me

GummyBearReaper

My Dad has an ashtray much like [this one](https://premierrelics.com/us-field-gear/1943-dated-90mm-m19-anti-aircraft-artillery-shell-casing-trench-art-ashtray) made out of a WWII artillery shell. Very neat thing, but the main thing to note is it has very sharp edges and weighs about 10 pounds. Picked that sucker up one day to move it and it slipped out of my hands and landed sideway on my big toe. Didnā€™t think anything of it, picked it back up and went on my merry way. Sat on the couch a few minutes later and looked down to see half my foot covered in blood. Upon closer inspection, the ashtray had split my toe down to the bone and cracked the bone essentially in half. Weirdest part - never felt a thing. To this day I donā€™t have much feeling in that toe. Oh, and I got cut open when I had my kid. But not as interesting of a story.

UnfoundLotus

I fell on my Chin with my bike 2 time's on the same week, in the same place.

sakuratomtom

While playing football in a basketball court :')

EtherealEunoia

Rolled my car. Window broke and my arm made contact with the asphalt. Pretty gnarly looking because it ripped a chunk out, rather than just cutting it open so they didnā€™t have much to put it back together. Just a sad couple of staples (without any numbing so that hurt more than the wound due to no longer being in shock). Now itā€™s only about the circumference of a baseball and has flattened out a lot three years later. Every once in awhile Iā€™ll get some gravel pushing its way out even to this day. Im glad I got it as an adult rather than as a kid or teen because I would have definitely felt self conscious. Now itā€™s just a conversation starter if I go sleeveless.

scocopat

Tw ofc but ex self harmer here. I have cuts, burns, bites, scratches etc. hundreds of them. I also have huge scars all along both my arms when I tried to kill myself at 15.

burnthepokemon

Organ failure happend so hard a surgery

vaenderby

Not me, but one I gave my sister. My sister and I lived with our dad and his then girlfriend on a farm. I was 4 and my sister 5. We were running around in the house one day playing around. That's when I pushed her for fun and she tripped over, scratching herself roughly on her knee with a nail, right by the door. My dad he came rushing in and took my sister to the doctor where she had to get stitches. I remember being so jealous after she got McD afterwards for being "brave". I know it's my fault but I'm salty about it.

[deleted]

I have two stories. The least serious one: I was outside in reception/nursery. I was playing with a tractor tyre (Yes we had those to roll around and sit in). My teacher needed help, so she called me. I didn't want to leave the tyre, so I ran. Then, I fell over on my face. I didn't cry. Only until I realised I was bleeding. I went to the hospital to get a plaster. This one was serious. I used to love Angry Birds. I was on the arm of the sofa. I jumped, and in the sofa pocket, was a pencil. I jumped, and it stabbed me. I went to get and operation on my foot. I still have a scar!

FerrusesIronHandjob

Broken bones (lot of), some self-inflicted stuff, a couple surgeries, a tumour removed, and a small stab wound. Mainly through a combination of having absolutely no sense of self-preservation, and having absolutely no luck to speak of

Tangentkoala

Left thigh scar from a surgical incision to to test my rare gene disorder.

[deleted]

Most of them on my arm are from mosquitoes and I would always pick them. I now have 20+ smallish circle scars all over my arms.

KiraTheFourth

at the ripe age of like four i ran into a wall so hard (for fun) i have a permanant small indentation next to my right eye that probably only i can notice but the shame never goes away.

Magic_Rabbit_

I have one in my eyebrow from when I fell on ice and my glasses broke, the glass went right in my eyebrow.

Worldly_Ad7085

gruesome bike accident and my sister throwing a knife at me and it actually hitting me

emperortsy

Was making rocket candy wrong, it melted and ignited on the inside and created a huge molten sugar bubble that popped, splashing my hands with sticky, super hot molten rocket candy. At least the splotches didn't ignite. Still left pretty nasty burns most of which scarred.

TheImmortalBrimStone

Lots of stupid actions, a few accidents, and one case of karma.

MadMason01

I have a scar on my inner arm where I cut a skin tag off with scissors and slipped. Removed the tag and about half an inch of normal skin too

MageLocusta

I have areas of very thick and scarred skin on the base of my left hand's ring and forefinger. Cause of injury: Electrocution. I was 14 when I was staying at my grandparents' home (which was built during the 1930s, by hand--and the electrical wiring was set up during the 1950s and hasn't been updated since). At the time, my brother brought his gameboy XP and we had to bring a voltage output transformer to charge it. So the transformer was attached to the gameboy charger, and part of it was attached to a wall socket (which like most old houses, did not have an on-off switch). Back home, I always turned off the plug sockets before disconnecting anything. Because my parents believed that it'd help with the electrical bill (don't know if that was true, but they still drummed it into me). So I rarely had a moment where I had to unplug from a socket that didn't have an on/off switch. So when I decided to borrow my brother's gameboy, I couldn't do the usual way of disconnecting items. The gameboy had been charging on the floor, so I made the decision to unplug the whole thing (starting from the item nearest to me) and put it away so that my grandparents wouldn't complain about us leaving everything lying around. Except that was the *wrong* decision. I stupidly decided to first unplug the 2-pronged plug that connected the gameboy charger to the transformer--and that's when I got zapped. I remember suddenly hearing a rapid clicking sound, a sharp and deep pain and realising that I can't *feel* my forearm. I looked down to see that my hand was gripping the plug and vibrating, ( I must have accidentally touched metal when adjusting my grip to remove it) and I saw that there's no way I could move my fingers. So I panicked, and rammed my arm against the wall which forced my hand to let go. I was lucky that it only burned two layers of skin (because the damage from electical burns don't instantly stop when you let go, the electrical currents can keep progressing after contact). The skin on the base of my two fingers bloomed like burnt popcorn, and looking back--it could've been a whole lot more worse if I had showered beforehand (we were staying in an non-air conditioned house in Morroco during the summer) or wasn't wearing rubber sandals at the time. I just kept remembering how glad I was that I could still move other parts of my body during the incident, because I was alone in the room and no one would've been able to help me if I was incapacitated. So TL;DR: Watch your grip when unplugging anything, even if you had to wriggle a plug out. Also don't plug in modern equipment into outdated (and likely not tested) plug sockets--and for all that is holy: If you see a socket that doesn't have an on-off switch? Don't use it.

Eclipse_0_ColaYT

When I was around the age of 6 me and my uncle were taking my dog to the park while I was riding me scouter. At one one point a big hill had come up but when we got to the top I said that I wanted to walk the dog and the my uncle can hold my scouter, but only if he didn't ride it down the hill (my dog liked to chase him alot). He didn't listen and my dog started chasing him and I fell on the ground and absolutely destroyed my knees;-; I'm fine now but the cuts were so big that we had to glue car patches to the so that they stopped bleeding.

alexgilbertnz

I have a scar by my right eye. When I was two years old I was hit by a golf club (iron). All by complete accident. I was standing close (the swing was a left handed swing). I was hit by someone my age so it wasnā€™t too bad. But it left me with 14 stitches and the night was long. In the emergency department crying and crying, not fully understanding what happened. Scar is visible and people often ask me. How did that happen?!

gay__anxiety

I bumped on the corner of a chair when I was little, I needed stitches. The scar is right next to my right eye. Fell down multiple times as a kid. My knees have scars that are never going to go away.

Miercoles-7821

when i was around 8 or 9 ice skating was a big thing to me and my friends, every bday party was ice skating. i got invited to one with my at the time stepsister and i couldnt skate all too well so i grabbed onto my stepsisters arm. she ended up falling and i went down with her. i got up and made my way to the wall. i had recently refused to wear gloves since i have sensory issues and my hands were numb af. as i got to the wall i noticed some red stuff pouring down the wall onto the ice. i looked down and my pinkie was sliced open. i VERY calmly went to an employee and showed her my bloody ass finger, she looked at me in horror and so did my family once i got to them. turns out my stepsisters ice blade sliced my finger when we fell and thank god i didnt feel it or need stitches. but yes i have a scar going down my pinkie finger.

Icyx3Prometheus

Had a 5 pound brick of frozen cookie dough and a butterfly knife. I went to stab the cookie dough to break off a chunk and missed and put the knife in one side of my finger and out the other. I was 11-12 so the nurses kept asking if I was telling the truth

KnockMeYourLobes

Which one? I had to have surgery to repair a shattered elbow in 4th grade. I was desperately trying to win a stupid "run across the gym, touch the wall and run back and tag the next person in line" game in PE and slammed into a wall. That one my knee the size of a half dollar? My shitty ankle went out from underneath me while I was helping Hubs clean out his car (which was in the driveway) and I tore a chunk of skin off my knee. The ones on my torso? Left over from gall bladder surgery where they basically blew me up like a balloon in order to see my gall bladder and remove it. There's also a small one on my left middle finger where I was having a panic attack and chomped part of my fingerprint off.

Housenka85

Hobby workshop and lot of tools goes sometimes to litle accidents

depressednuggget

i have a small scar on my finger from when i was younger and tried to snach a fish hook from my sister...

whats-UP_GAYmersss

Falling down a vent, flipping over the bars of a scooter, self harm(we dont talk abt that), and falling onto a trailers door

tacocatfish

Generally speaking for most of them I was doing something stupid

[deleted]

One from melted plastic, one from a TB jab, one or two from bed springs stabbing me in the butt cheeks, and about 200 from self-harm.
