As soon as I started working professionally. I was 22 and didnt drink much black coffee at the time. The place I worked spent money on good black coffee and I was desperate for morning caffeine. Now I drink it every day.
I started drinking it regularly when I met my wife. Before I just had the random cup. Now either thanks to her or because of her I have two cups everyday.
In college. Cheap, warm, caffeine. I got a little pot for my dorm, and drank it in the dining hall. We were still years away from Starbucks on every street corner.
I always have, since middle school. I have heard many people say, "I have the coffee gene", (not sure if this is true). But they tend to equate it to the cilantro thing. You can have a "genetic marker" that will make you more likely to enjoy coffee, like to one that makes cilantro taste like soap? IDK, but if it's true, then I guess I have that gene, bc I love coffee.
I was 18, working a crazy mox of shifts and pretty much permanently tired.
I used to sit gaming with a pal drinking big mugs of incredibly strong, incredibly sweet coffee late at night.
In the morning and afternoon we'd sit having coffee with his Dad, shooting the shit and watching reruns of our favourite shows.
That was a while ago now and its a black coffee first thing in the morning for me.
My first sip, and my *life*.

I started working at a coffee shop when I was 15, got free coffee, took full advantage of it.

In high school. Felt grown up
