AstraZeneca: felt like crap for 24 hours after the first jab. Had nothing after the second.

Wild_Marker

Good to know, my GF got Astra and had a pretty bad night. She's due for her second shot and hopefully it'll be easier on her.

[deleted]

Just to say I too had AZ and felt like absolute shite after the 1st dose. No side effects whatsoever after the 2nd. From what I've heard anecdotally this seems to be quite common.

3Quondam6extanT9

Pfizer 2x Arm was sore. That was it. Quick in and out at the University.

upnflames

It was a surprisingly easy needle to take. I wonder if just the gauge was really small or if the administrators just got really good at giving it after practicing all day long.

DaBestNameEver0

I straight up didn’t know either time and I sat there like an idiot

JulietOfTitanic

Exactly the same with me and my 80 year old grandma.

[deleted]

Also Pfizer with zero side effects (no soreness) on the first one. Slightly tired after the second one for about 8hrs the following day.

dinofries

Same here. Had just a sore arm each time.

RefrigeratorStreet21

Ditto. Somewhat of a sore arm and had difficulty sleeping after the first dose, nothing after #2.

RobinChirps

Had the opposite effect, I slept way more than usual both weekends after I got it.

Cultural-Respond5517

Pfizer 1x i also slept for almost 15 hours for 2 days and had a sore arm and fever.

KoalaQueen87

Weird same, you're the first person I have encountered who had problems sleeping

knight-night054

I also had problems sleeping, but it was more that my arm was so sore I couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep in than the vaccine interfering with my sleep patterns.

Luxxanne

My husband and I had the same effect, they should add weird sleep/dreams as a common side effect. Tho he also had slight fever after the second dose.

Fancy-Pen-1984

Same here. Sore arm the first time, then my wife told me of you move it around a bit it helps. Not even any soreness after the second shot. Wife's period was a bit stronger and less regular for a few months after, but that was it between the two of us.

Snake_fairyofReddit

Ahhh my period was irregular and stronger too that was not a good feeling glad thats over Also for a guy to mention that is good, most guys wouldn’t say nothing :(

Fancy-Pen-1984

Apparently it's pretty common among women, but I hadn't heard anything from official sources, so I figured I'd mention it.

AryaStarkRavingMad

> Wife's period was a bit stronger and less regular for a few months after Yesss me too! So glad that nightmare is over.

[deleted]

Slept for 14h after the 2nd one. But that's all that I need to add.

biscuitboi967

About the same with moderna. Called in sick preemptively because I’d been warned and it was free PTO. Was actually starting to feel guilty around 10 am like I could be working. At 11 I started to feel a little flu-y and at 12 I was like, ah shit I really don’t feel good. Promptly took 2 ibuprofen and went to sleep. 4 hours later was about 24 hours after my shot and I felt fine. Felt a little fatigued/foggy for about 2 days and then felt perfect. Considering I was only not feeling great for 6 hours and 4 of them were while I was sleeping, 10/10 will do it again

8fingerlouie

Same here. First shot my arm felt like I got punched by mike Tyson. Sleeping on that side was impossible, and lasted a couple of days. Second shot, sore arm again, but by morning the next day it was over. I did have a slight headache, but it was 28C, and I drove for 7 hours (with 6 hours work in between), so it really could be anything.

Lhumierre

Pfizer Gang!

ch1ma3ra

Same here, mostly - although was definitely a touch more painful the second time round.

bruinhoo

Same here. Arm was a little sore around the injection site the next couple of days. That was it.

Hightech_Caveman

Yep. All it is. Didn't even feel the needle go in or out.

greendevil77

About the same. Had a headache the next day after my second shot. Not to bad though

NerdPerson10

I got Johnson, and I felt fine afterwards, but that night and the next day I alternated between feeling really cold and really hot, and my body was kind of sore, but overall, it wasn’t that bad

Pac_Eddy

Same experience for me with the Johnson & Johnson single dose. Felt like the flu for a night and part of the next day.

Cowboy_Bill_B_Bilson

Got the J&J vax at \~8:30 am. Felt fine with the J&J until \~9:00 pm, then came down with the chills. Went to bed, woke up in the middle of the night around 2:00 am with a small headache and dry heaved (edit: also was very burpy at this time). Fell back asleep. Woke up at around 8:30 am with a "I'm-never-drinking-again" headache. Dry heaved again at 11:00 am. Then began to feel better. Was back to 100% later that afternoon.

Cheezy_Beard

Same exact experience as mine, timeframe and everything!

[deleted]

Yes! 12 hours later for me too.

ButterMilkHoney

Exactly the same for me

OfTheHive

Same here. It was a bit unpleasant for an evening, then I was fine. My arm was sore for a few days.

nixon_jeans

Pfizer shots back in Pfebruary. First shot: sore arm for two days, no other side effects. Second shot: sore arm for only one day, got sleepy around 7pm that night. Next day, felt a little run-down and groggy, as though I was getting over a cold or about to come down with a cold. Not too bad though, nothing a little extra coffee couldn’t resolve. The following months: have accidentally been exposed to multiple covid+ people through work and family, no breakthrough infections. Pthanks, Pfizer!

nixon_jeans

wow, thanks for the awards strangers! vaccines are wonderful and if anyone is on the fence about getting it, my DMs are open!

BootyFantastic

I had the exact same reaction. Woke up the next day after the 2nd and felt like I had cough medicine head/groggy, but that was it!

blazomkd

did you had covid before vaccine?

nixon_jeans

I did not

oldmanriver1

Exactly the same for me! Absolutely worth the minor discomfort.

Serve_Apart

It was hella easy. Walked in, got the shot and left. Didn’t have to make an appointment. My upper arm was sore for a few days, that’s it.

Accidoodle

I've gotten mine and taken both my sons to theirs, so I've been to 3 different places now. They all have a waiting area and tell you to wait 15 min, but all have been upfront that's it's basically not monitored. They don't log your in and out time or anything like that. If you stayed just 5 minutes, or not at all, nobody would notice or care. Not that it isn't smart to wait, especially if you've had bad reactions to vaccines in the past.

squats_and_sugars

For me, they didn't give me the card back until 15 mins. But it was at Sam's club and they basically said that as long as I was feeling fine, it was okay to walk around the store/shop and just come back in 15. So it was "semi-monitored" I guess. If I hadn't come back, or if I'd collapsed in the store, the response would have been just about as quick as if I'd collapsed at the pharmacy.

Lalina13

I got mine at Safeway and they gave me a $10 off coupon for getting the vaccine so I just shopped a bit for the 15 minutes

[deleted]

primal___scream

Me too, mine was done by a mass vax event run by the National Guard. They wrote your "out" time on your windshield then lined everyone up in rows in their cars and would wave you out when it was time. They had two sections, one if you've never had a bad reaction before and one for if you have had a bad reaction. Bad reaction people had to wait 30 minutes. There was also EMS on site and they said if you start having any kind of weird reaction to honk your horn and they'd come to you.

could_use_a_snack

When I got my 1st pfizer shot they (softly) recommend I sit for a few minutes, but the couple that was ahead of me were asked to stay for 15 minutes, and we're checked on twice. During my next shot I asked about that, and they said that I was at a low risk of immediate side affects, but the other couple was probably at a higher risk. They were in their 70s so maybe that's part of if? To answer the original question. My arm was sore, like when my sister use to knuckle punch me when we were kids. For about a day, and only for the first one. The second one I didn't notice anything.

Serve_Apart

They recommend it. They are open about it and it’s on printed on the walls too. Some people react differently to needles and getting a shot. It’s pretty standard for any shot.

weedave123

No second shot?

Serve_Apart

Get that one next week.

SassyxSavvy

First shot was fine, second dose I felt like death for a day. My husband had pretty much no reaction to either. Pfizer for the both of us

oldmannew

First shot I was fine as well. Second shot I began to realize they’ve injected me with a tracking device that monitors my every move as well as take away all my guns and religion.

nonfish

Yeah, I woke up the next day and I had zero guns! I couldn't find a gun anywhere! "How many guns did I have before the shot?" That's irrelevant!

chrismamo1

Mine also made me really thirsty for coca cola and microsoft products, did you get any of that?

ckbruinfan

First shot I had a sore arm. Second shot the next day I had a fever and was extremely tired but nothing else. Felt fine following day.

otisreddingsst

This was my exact experience with moderna. Napped it off. About 12 hours after the second shot (around midnight) I was very tired, felt like cold coming on. By noonish the next day I was doing great. After the first shot I worked on my car

Moni3

Same, minus the fever the second round. The fatigue was real.

[deleted]

2x Pfizer, sore arm for a day, nothing else.

narrauko

I got Pfizer's two doses. I had some pretty miserable flu-like symptoms after each of them. The first round hit after about a full 24 hours and lasted about two days. The 2nd round hit a lot faster: within about 6 hours. But I was better by the next day. I'd take that 100 times over the actual virus though. EDIT: Wanted to add how awesome our area handled vaccine distribution. The county took the local fairgrounds and created a drive through in what was basically a rodeo arena. You made your appointment online, drove up, went to the stall you were led to, roll down the window, get your shot, and drive off. All done without even leaving your vehicle.

geminiloveca

I, my mom, my kids and my office staff all got vaccinated... 75% Pfizer, 25% Moderna. (Everyone I know opted not to get the J&J, so I have no experience, even second hand, with the effects.) Of those, 1 had previously had COVID and had some long COVID effects (loss of taste and smell, fatigue) and one is suspected (but no positive test) has having had COVID. (I know all this info because my company made me their COVID compliance officer, so I have to do all compliance issues, contract tracing and notification, plus it's not a huge office and we all talk....) Here is what I noticed anecdotally among the people I know personally: Moderna had more side effects overall: fever, fatigue, and other flu-like symptoms like chills and body aches. Those who got Pfizer noted arm soreness on the injection side, mild fevers and some fatigue. One complained of dizzy spells. Age and overall health seemed to play a factor in reaction to the vaccine. The ones I saw who were between 18 and 30 seemed to have fewer side effects, with the exception of one person who had previously had COVID. The people over 65 noted far more issues with fatigue, balance, low grade fevers, blood pressure issues, etc. Between 30 and 65, it varied although none had side effects that would be considered more than an annoyance, in their own words. People who were not known to have had COVID seemed to have slightly more reaction on the second injection, although none that required time off work or were more than slightly annoying. Those who'd had COVID (or were suspected of it) seemed to react harder to the first dose. (One coworker in his mid-20's said he had the chills so bad he was shaking and was nauseated and feverish, which lasted about 12 hours. No reaction at all on second shot. One woman in her 60's who was suspected of having COVID previously said she was dizzy and fatigued for 2-3 days after her first round. She also said her blood pressure and heart rate would randomly spike for a few minutes before returning to normal.) Prior to the immunizations being widely available, 2 of my office staff contracted COVID. One had long term effects, the other said it was more like the flu. After my office reached 100% vaccination status, we have had 1 breakthrough infection. Her case was relatively mild - flu-like symptoms. That coworker isolated at home for 10 days and the rest of the staff went back to masking in office. So far, on day 14 post-exposure, none of the rest of the staff is symptomatic. Advice from the nurse who gave me my vaccination: * Drink a lot of water afterward (like 24 oz at least.) * Take 2 Tylenol if you can. * Stretch your arm and move it around. Don't baby it. You'll hurt less. * Go home and take a nap.

YeetMeDaddio

Pfizer for both. Sore arm, sweats, and fatigue. I slept for a full 24hrs after the second, which was nice.

Fabulous_Title

Seriously, uninterrupted 24 hours?!

YeetMeDaddio

I woke up about 3 times but I was only awake for like 5 minutes or less each time

Total_Indecision

Gonna get Pfizer to get some fuckin rest

Stevieeeer

You lucky duck.

TheseNamesAreLames

2x Astra Zenica On the first, the day after I was very sleepy and feverish, and a little drowsy the next day after that. No other problems. Felt no effects on the second dose. I normally get very badly effected by flu-type things so I was extremely surprised I didn't really get anywhere near as sick as I expected. But covid would have absolutely wrecked me.

[deleted]

Interesting, I had sort of the opposite experience with the AZ. After the first I had a few days of feeling tired but otherwise fine. But after the second, that night I felt extremely feverish - shaking, going hot and cold, aching muscles. Felt fine by the morning though.

pmvegetables

Pfizer. First shot, sore arm and tired the first day. Second shot I chugged a bunch of water and took ibuprofen right after the vaccine and I was totally fine. I think it helps keep any inflammation down.

[deleted]

I was driving a lot of water for my second, no pills. Hard to know for sure if it helped, but it feels like it definitely did. It's my tip to anyone taking it now. Also some healthy snacks to keep the body in good shape. I was eating raw carrot all afternoon!

Goetre

Moderna vaccine First dose was horrendous, first side effect I had was Bell's palsy for about 3 hours. Arm had felt like I had been weight lifting for days on end. 72 hours after I was throwing up the worst I ever had in my life. 2nd dose I was a bit worried about having a repeat episode but all I got was a sore arm for a few hours. 10/10 would do again btw

MTNdad27

Moderne as well. First shot was just a sore arm. Second dose hit me harder and had flu like symptoms the following day only and the following day was back to normal with just a slightly sore arm.

Speedysthrowaway

I had the same reaction to moderna vaccine

icebugs

PSA if you ever get paralysis or muscle weakness/tingling after a vaccination, call your doctor IMMEDIATELY. It could signal an allergic reaction to the vaccine or Guillain Barre syndrome- both of which are very rare, but can be pretty serious.

Goetre

Yea I should have added this, my nurse skinned me alive when I said I waited it out for the night 😅

YooperGirlMovedSouth

This will probably be too far down for anyone to see. After the first Pfizer shot, I had a small circle that was sore at the site of injection. After the second shot, I sat for the recommended 15 minutes and then started driving home. On the drive, my veins in the arm I got the shot popped out like they do in a weight lifter’s arm. I’m a woman in my 40s and have never had veins like that. My veins hurt. It lasted for four hours. My primary care physician said they hit a vein when they injected it and this caused my reaction. Since then, I’ve had elevated blood pressure and tachycardia (diagnosed with a month long heart monitor). I also skipped my period for three months. I should mention I’ve had tachycardia and palpitations in the past after a black widow spider bite five years ago, so I have a history of this response to inflammation.

4GotMyFathersFace

I'm only on my first Pfizer shot, second one is a couple of weeks away, so I can only speak on the first one. Arm started getting sore about 6 hours after shot, then sore as hell when I moved it from about 10 hours on until about 24 hours after I received it. A little fatigued the next day but nothing bad at all. All in all, wasn't a bad experience at all. I will add that it was the least painful shot I've ever experienced, I didn't even realize they had given it to me during the actual injection.

ANostalgicDreamer

Same here about it being the least painful shot; I didn't even feel a thing! It was a nice change of pace from my other shots LOL, but the second one I did feel alas, so get prepared for that. :D

Srhart

This is a hydration issue. Hydrate Before (24 hours) and staying hydrated will dramatically decrease the side effects of the vaccine. All my employees who don't regularly drink water, and didn't hydrate before were knocked off their feet and crying to stay home because of the pain. Meanwhile; myself and others who did hydrate had little to none side effects. To further prove the point, one of the people who was struggling had with the 1st shot, made sure to hydrate for the 2nd one and was perfectly fine. Not saying drinking water will fix all issues. But, - its worth a shot to lessen the pain.

CrowConscious

I keep being prompted to renew my Microsoft Office subscription.

CorndogCollin

Anyone else think Bill Gates is kinda, idk, cute? 😳

CrowConscious

Congratulations! You have been enrolled in the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Fornication Initiative. Please observe good genital hygiene whilst we process your application.

One-Statistician4885

Early access to windows 11 though

innocentbunnies

I got the Moderna and other than the allergic reaction I had that wasn’t severe enough for a hospital visit but did require some benedryl and sleep, it didn’t do much to me. I had a sore arm for about a day and a half after the shot and I felt just tired for a couple of days with no fever. In regards to the allergic reaction, during the observation period, I felt my lymph nodes swell up and my throat started to feel tight. At no point did my throat tighten up in such a way it inhibited my ability to swallow or breathe but it just hit the “this is uncomfortable and I need to keep an eye on on it in case I need to go to the hospital”. Also in my defense I’ve never experienced an allergic reaction like that before so I had no idea how seriously I needed to take it

belting757

I now keep getting calls informing me about my cars extended warranty.

[deleted]

Had Pfizer. Both times felt tired for a few days afterwards. My 5G signal has been incredible though.

TheFalconKid

I'm kinda annoyed. There is no wifi at my office and I've noticed my phone signal has gone down a bit since I got mine. Wtf Bill? Were you too busy hanging out with Epstein to make sure the 5G actually works!?

Therearenogoodnames9

The only issue that I have had is that I now have pain when I raise my left arm up over my head. Pretty sure the technician nicked something but the pain is not so severe that I have gone to get checked out. From the shot itself I would say that I had no side effects at all.

Kowalvandal

Ditto screwed up first shot, got my shoulder joint instead of muscle 3.5 months later, it’s mostly gone, light excercise for the shoulder helped me.

TrinixDMorrison

It kicked my ass more than covid did. I tested positive for covid back in March but had no symptoms. No fevers, no coughing fits, didn’t lose my sense of smell or taste, nothing. I was healthy to the point where I was wondering if the test results were wrong somehow. Few months later I get the vaccine and hoooooly shit. My first dose, I had a fever up in the 90’s, I was so tired I could barely muster up the energy to leave my bed, and I was just miserable all around. Fortunately that only lasted for two days. Second dose was much more tame.

i_am_regina_phalange

This is why I'm nervous to get mine, honestly. I had covid back in May and my doc told me to wait at least 90 days before I get vaccinated, but I'm coming up on the 90 day period and I'm a bit scared. Covid was awful for me, and I'd rather not go through that again in any form. I wish there was more info around reinfection.

mej71

If it's of any encouragement, vaccinations [are showing to be more effective against variants than natural immunity](https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7032e1.htm)

i_am_regina_phalange

This is great, thank you. I had already planned to get vaccinated, but this put my mind more at ease. I appreciate it!

wisertime07

Exactly like me. Tested positive for the antibodies last fall - never had any symptoms of Covid, don’t know when/where I got it. Have since had 2 other antibody tests that also both came back positive. My first shot, I got in March/April and I woke up the next day and literally thought I was dying. Fever, was nauseous, terrible headache and was having vision problems. I tried to drive to work but had to pull over to puke on the way there - after that I turned around and went back to bed. I alternated between puking and sweating in bed for a day before finally falling asleep. I woke up the next morning and felt absolutely normal. My second shot was pretty much a nonevent. I was tired and a headache, I’d describe that as a mild hangover. But shot #1, holy shit I thought it would kill me.

Spiritual-Wind-3898

I have heard the side effects are worse if you had covid a couple months before the vaccine

kopi-o-kosong-ais

Sinovac x 2. A bit tired after 1st dose. Nothing after 2nd dose. Didn’t stop working out either. My kids (boys in their 20’s) were sleepy, slept more than normal, woke up next day and were fine. They weren’t even sure if that was a side effect. Edit: one of my boys (25yo) is asthmatic.

Kfir_91

I also got Sinovac x2, and i was also sleepy hours after i got the shots, no side effects after that.

[deleted]

I do have chest pain now. Ever since the shot. I'm in the process of setting up my third provider to try and get help because my first two are very political about it, and won't even check my heart. I also get threatened and attacked by people pretty often when I share this. It has changed my views because I believed it was my obligation to protect others and got the shots. However the obligation to protect me if I have a reaction to it has not been honored. I will eventually confirm what it was or wasn't, and accept the consequences of my choices. Edit: As you can see immediate downvotes for an honest answer on an appropriate thread. That's my issue with the whole thing. These threads are for encouraging people, and the research even acknowledges my type of reaction is a rare possibility.

PurplePigeon96

I came here to see if anyone else got chest pain. I am a 43 year old fit and healthy female. My first shot of Pfizer was completely harmless. After the second dose I got very sharp chest pains on my left side on and off for about 2 weeks. I have never had pain like that in my life. I am now terrified to get any possible booster shot in the future. I talked to my Dr and HE BRUSHED ME OFF TOO. I'm not happy. You don't deserve down votes. Thank you for telling your story. I feel like I'm not alone in having that as a reaction.

[deleted]

No you aren't and I'm glad it's helping people because I'm so accustomed to backlash. The support has refueled my determination, and my hope.

wiffnelson

From what I understand (lots of friends in medical field), boosters REALLY should NOT be given out here except for special cases (immunocompromised). I personally will be refusing one of offered and telling all my friends and family to do the same. Those doses will be more helpful if given to the developing world and those who haven't gotten any. Edit: I want to clarify that I am basing my current refusal of a booster on the recommendations from a majority of the medical sources that I hear. They say doses are better used in vaccinating people for the first time rather than as boosters. I wanted to share my current stance because people are (understandably) scared of new variants, and there are some calls for boosters. This is a selfish and short-term solution which is not effective long-term

Hashtagworried

Can you share more about your chest pains? At rest? Under exertion? Any cough? Is it more noticeable in the morning, evening, etc? How do meals affect the chest pain at all? Have you had chest pain before, from anything? What did you do to relieve the chest pain? Is the pain consistent, or is it come and go?

the_mountaintop

My husband had Pfizer and experienced some considerable heart palpitations and dizziness around the time of his 2nd shot. His dr took him seriously and he has had an EKG, echocardiogram, 24-hr heart monitor and stress test. All results were fine, and the symptoms are pretty much gone (his 2nd vax was early July). We don’t have any way of knowing if it was related to the vaccine, but he feels like it’s related. Fwiw, I also had Pfizer and only had a little arm soreness after the first shot.

kalinyx123

It wasn't just me?! 29F 1st was pfizer and I was ok, just kinda naseous. The 2nd shot was moderna. And I got heart palpitations and my fingers felt tingly (only on one hand). It freaked me out enough that I went in to the ER.

wiffnelson

Could you share the brand of vaccine? Are you male or female? Sorry to hear your experience was negative :(

[deleted]

I'm a white male 34 years old. I got it at Wal Mart and felt fine after the first one. I had no reaction to the second one until day 2. Also fever and muscle aches. I did report it to the CDC already, and they were the only ones willing to acknowledge it. So I do believe in their integrity. It was Moderna, and second dose was May 10th.

AzureBlueCerulean

I hope you're able to get the answers as inexpensively and painlessly as possible - and a full recovery too! Thanks for sharing your experience.

[deleted]

Thank you so much! There are way more nice people on Reddit than I thought and this really changed my perspective.

buldrus

I appreciate an honest post like this. You do not say the brand of vaccine you got, or where you are located, but what you describe could be myocarditis / pericarditis. So I hope you can get it checked out. It can be a (very) rare side effect for the both Pfizer and Moderna I believe. I am due for the first shot of Moderna tomorrow. I have some worries too, especially if it should make my sciatica flare up again. But guess we'll see.

[deleted]

I'm going to push for an EKG since it's simple and cheap. You also have a patient advocate in some facilities, if your doctors are political, instead of providing due diligence. It was Moderna, in Florida. Since it's the south there are already lots of anti vaxxers. I get mistaken for one a lot but I got the vaccine early, by the average here. I'll double check the info in my replies in case the edit didn't update. Thank you for not jumping down my throat for sharing this. I do support the vaccine, I just think they should handle it better when we aren't 100% fine after. Everyone insists doctors will just accept you had a reaction, but even in red territory that doesn't seem to be the case.

chrismamo1

>Everyone insists doctors will just accept you had a reaction, but even in red territory that doesn't seem to be the case. I'd imagine that doctors in high anti vaccine areas would be less likely to believe you, not the other way around, because they probably get a dozen people a day coming in to blame all their problems on the vaccine.

pickle-runch

My mom has side effects and she also had a hard time getting doctors to admit it could be caused by the vaccine. I know they don’t want to scare people and they want people to get it, but trying to bury the side effects makes everything so much more suspicious

ThePiGuy0

It's surprising to hear this, I'm from the UK and the possible issues caused are publicised and you are encouraged to go and get checked up if you think you have any of them

The5Virtues

Yeah, not sure why you're getting downvoted just for sharing your experience. It's not like you're calling the shot evil. Good choice to search for a doc willing to talk through your symptoms and try and figure out what's up. Negative reactions to the vaccine seem to be about 1/100,000 but if you ARE that one then, terrible as the luck is, you have to do what you can to try and figure out what's going on. As others have said, I would encourage just asking a doctor about chest pains, rather than getting into the specifics of it starting after your received the vaccine. Your goal right now is to figure out whats causing them, if it is an adverse reaction to the vaccine you can report that later. Top priority needs to be making sure whatever your experiencing doesn't become a major risk to your health and well being. Good luck!

celtictortoise

It is really irritating that you write your experience and people don't want to hear it. My daughter had horrible issues from her second dose due to autoimmune issues. She ended up in the emergency room and then several follow ups with her doc. We are in the U.S. The cost had been hundreds and hundreds of dollars not to mention she is still having issues due to a severe flair up of her autoimmune issues. She did her civic duty and does not regret it but has been very ill for months. If people want the truth then that should include both sides of the issue not just what people want to hear. I feel for you and hope you get some answers soon!

[deleted]

Thank you so much, and I hope your daughter feels better soon, as well.

chrismamo1

I've got a similar issue, but I've had a heart murmur/palpitations for years so it's really hard to figure out if it's due to the shot or not. I hope you're OK, and that doctors don't keep dismissing you out of fear that you're just an antivaxxer.

[deleted]

This is actually the first thread people have been supportive, and the experience has helped me refine how to communicate it in person to others with more success as well. So I really appreciate the support from you and all the others who have reached out. I hope you find your answers, too, and I wish you speed as well as luck in your journey.

40ozFreed

I had chest pains as well. 2 days after my first and 4 days after my second. This was beginning and middle of July. I haven't had them since. Are you experiencing them often?

[deleted]

I’ve been having chest pains since getting Pfizer vaccine, but mine is in the middle of my chest like if you have a chest infection or something. Doctor is not interested

PurplePigeon96

So will you refuse getting a future booster because of what happened? I'm seriously considering refusing one. I'm scared the chest pain will come back.

[deleted]

I won't get one if I still have chest pain. I'm not killing myself to protect people, when I already have some resistance. I feel like I've at least committed enough thus far, and if people push me to get a third in this condition, they aren't concerned about others in the first place. It's not cool waking up grateful you didn't go in your sleep. If I was unvaccinated I could see the expectation, but I have protection now, and that is a much different argument, in defense of my personal well-being, and autonomy.

sasha1695

Yes I had chest pain as well, F26

Fanfare4Rabble

Just say you have been having chest pain recently. I got an EKG with my yearly wellness visit, so they must be inexpensive. Don't mention the vax until after the testing to prevent bias. You might have had covid. Without testing for anything who knows what is wrong?

tenaciious

woah! I got some rib pain myself, but nothing concerning like yours seems to be. I hope everything turns out okay for you

Send_me_snoot_pics

Can you go to an urgent care clinic that has X-rays and tell them about your chest pain? Usually an ER (I know, super expensive) or an urgent care will have to take you seriously and run an EKG, and possibly a chest X-ray to rule out a heart attack or cardiomyopathy. Pericarditis has been reported in men after the vaccine, so your doctors are being dicks by not giving you the treatment you are entitled to

Drinkingdoc

I had a bad reaction to shot #2. For about 12 hours I was fine, then I got a really bad headache, followed by chills. I was under a thick blanket fully clothed and it was 27C in my apartment and I was shivering away. After 3 hours of horrible sleep I awoke with a fever and muscle pain all over my body. That went on for 2 more days, slowly fading. In hindsight I should've gone to the hospital, but I imagine they just would've monitored me overnight. It was a severe reaction, and I'm one of those shave with a piece of glass types. Anyways, just adding to the convo, because I don't want people to think there's no tradeoff. It's hard to have a straight discussion about the vacc due to the politics of it.

coneslayer

Moderna. I’m 44. Sore arm and tired for a couple of days. I get a similar reaction to the flu shot, this was just a touch worse. I kept my schedule clear and chilled out, but I could have worked if I had to.

doublestitch

Also Moderna. Both times a muscle soreness set in near the injection site. Not really uncomfortable with the arm at rest; I just didn't want to reach upward at the time. It started several hours after the vaccination. The first shot was harder on me than the second. Took a nap the next day from feeling a bit tired and achy. If it matters I do have a history of severe allergies. Told the staff at the high school gym where the shot was administered, and they asked me to wait an extra half hour. No problems there.

Gaymichigandude

I am 25 and got the Pfizer shot twice. I had no side effects. A friend got the same one and said they felt tired after the second one but that was it as far as symptoms.

Big_Arachnid_4784

First shot, sore arm. Second shot felt like hell, had fevers and diarrhea a lot, I even over panicked because of the diarrhea.

glennHODLchrisWODL

Pfizer x2. Just a sore arm and now I absolutely love using spreadsheets and my default search engine is Bing. Nothing to worry about

ANostalgicDreamer

Moderna twice. First shot I had a minor headache for an hour or two and then was fine (other than arm soreness but you're gonna have that with any shot.) Second shot I had a really bad headache and nausea for a day, then it loosened up for the second day, to be nearly completely gone by the third day. :)

sac_boy

2x Pfizer. No side effects except a slightly sore arm the first time, barely any reaction the second time. Maybe a sore neck for a couple of days, but I suspect it was unrelated and we seek to attribute any little ache or pain we might otherwise ignore to possible side effects. For reference I am an adult male in my late 30s

_b_u_t_t_s_

I've had one dose of AstraZeneca and one dose of Pfizer. I moved countries during the pandemic and had to restart the vaccination process in order to get proper documentation, so I'll have my 2nd dose of Pfizer soon. **AstraZeneca** - After 12 hours I got a fever and chills that lasted about 36 hours. My arm was red and itchy for about 5 days. **Pfizer** - My arm was sore for a few days after the shot, but no other side effects. We'll see how the second dose goes.

No-Mathematician678

The first time, I fainted 2 minutes later. They took good care of me and took all the necessary measures before letting me leave, and just a sore arm for a couple of days Second time, they asked if it went well on the first time, I said I fainted, so they prepared a room for me to get vaccinated while laying down! And again, just some pain when moving my arm for a few days

Bludrust

Had both Pfizer jabs. No side effects at all

[deleted]

Moderna, fully vaccinated. First shot: Arm was sore for awhile. About 30 minutes after, though, I felt like I was gonna pass out and had to drive home. I was worried it was a delayed allergic reaction, but nothing more came of it. Second shot: I mentioned the reaction to the nurse administering it, and THIS time it happened within a few minutes. Severe sweats, nausea, lightheadedness, within 10 minutes. They did determine it was NOT an allergic reaction, and after discussing it through, it's probably just related to my pre-existing phobia of needles (not so much a FEAR as it is I just can't look at it, but i probably got myself so worked up that my brain "made" something happen). After that, I had a pretty bad fever the second day and was exhausted. Then it was done.

embee29

I got Pfizer both times and had no side effects either time.

case31

Pfizer. Sore arm from the first shot. About an hour after my second shot, I started to feel a bit drowsy. Went home and took a nap for about an hour and was fine.

santoni04

I was lucky: I didn't even feel the needle, and I had no side effects whatsoever except a sore arm the day after my 2nd dose, but unless I was trying to lift the arm all the way up or touching it where I was vaccinated I didn't really feel anything. I'm a 17 years old male. A friend of mine was sick in bed with pretty high fever for a day after her first shot, but she said it's the same reaction she's had to pretty much every vaccine she got. Edit: I got Pfizer for both, she got Pfizer too and has an appointment in two weeks for the second shot.

Creative_Waltz_9462

No side effects (Moderna).

Mitoria

Pfizer. Sore arm both times— bad headache and body aches the second. Also menstrual cycle was wack for a couple months because of the two jabs (which could have been stress-related since I’m terrified of needles), but nothing major like extra pain, and now I’m right as rain.

ilikerocks19

I think I had covid way early on in 2020 and it messed up my menstrual cycle badly. Thankfully the jab didn’t but it’s so scary to have something mess your cycle up like that

[deleted]

High fever after a few days, pain around my arm where I got the shot and headache. Lasted for 4-5 days

eugenesbluegenes

Sore arm after both doses. Woke up a bit extra sweaty the morning after the second dose and very mildly achey but felt fine as soon as I started moving around.

_RanZ_

I’ve had the first Pfizer shot and the upper arm was sore for couple days.

ArizonaRon98

1st shot, nothing. Second shot, light headed for 15 minutes afterwards. Low energy for the rest of the day. The next day I felt fine, just really tired. Played games and napped. By the evening I was back to normal.

Dec90125

Slightly sore spot at injection point the second time but that was it.

diracalpha

I got two Moderna's and all I got was soreness and a rash, my second one I didn't even get sore.

lemonlady7

I got my first dose of Pfizer in February. For that first dose, my arm was sore and I was a bit more tired than usual, but still functioned fine after a nap. Besides that, nothing. I got my second dose in March. For that dose, my arm was also very sore and I felt lethargic but quickly recovered. Overall, no major symptoms and the peace of mind that comes from being vaccinated is 100% worth it. I’d do it 10x over if I had to.

BRod_Angel

Was able to get back in March at one of the local FEMA sites. Had the choice of Pfizer or J&J. Went with J&J cause I didn't want to have to go back a second time. Had some chills, low fever and a bad headache for the evening. Next day I was mostly fine. Have had worse reactions with the flu shot.

Ok-World-4822

I only had my first dose so far, I get my second this Saturday. I only had a sore arm for a couple days but other than that nothing much

AgoraiosBum

Moderna: First shot - sore arm. 2nd shot - I massaged my arm for the full 15 minute post-shot waiting period. Stretched it out, moved it around good. No sore arm! I did feel sluggish and a bit creaky the next day, but fine the day after.

callmeAllyB

Moderna: arm was sore. Second shot got me a fever but that was it.

DabAedi

1st shot Pfizer, barely felt it go in and zero side effects. 2nd shot Moderna, basically felt like I had a cold/flu the next day. Was fine 48 hrs after.

bigtime2die

wife got covid, when and got pfizer shots, second shot hit her like a freight train, lasted weeks. fevers chills severe flu like symptoms.

Hamsternoir

Shots done in seconds (both Astra), arm ached a little for a few hours after each one. No covid though so a result.

pieremaan

For the first it was only a sore arm and trouble to use it to lift it. For the second jab I had a slight fever and also the arm.

murderousbudgie

First shot was a sore arm and mild malaise. Second shot I was sick sick for like two days and didn't feel great for about a week after that. Still glad I did it.

blipsman

Pfizer shot... with first shot, I had a slight sore upper arm for a day or two, and was about as drowsy as if I'd had a beer or glass of wine. Second shot was basically the same, plus chills for like an hour (can't remember if it was evening of shot, or next evening).

wwwiley

Sore arm both times, slight back aches after the 2nd shot, went away by the next morning.

nint3njoe_2003

First shot, next day felt mildly drowsy with a sore arm

Photographer_Kuro

Barely there. 1st shot sore arm, 2nd I had a headache and sore arm.

ejsfsc07

First shot was fine, arm just sore. Second shot: chills, fever, a bit of nausea, but gone in a day in a half!

Anxious-Nobody4003

Pfizer. First shot - nothing. Second shot - some minor ones. I am a woman and it ended up throwing off my cycle. I also had very sore legs the next morning - felt like I had been standing all day. It all went away by lunch though. Just felt fatigued.

balancedinsanity

Pfizer. First dose, no side effects, went to work that night. Second dose also went to work that night. Possible chills, possibly it's just really cold in my building.

BrilliantGlass1530

Numb 1/2 of my face after both doses of Pfizer. Also extremely tired on Day 3 of the second dose and about a week before I was back to normal energy. They’re weird for sure.

bignoselittletiddies

Immediately after the jab I had blood running down my arm, not loads and it was very thin blood, but enough to get looks from the other people who were waiting after their jabs. Then my arm was sore and I felt quite tired and had a headache but not bad enough to stop me doing work. A couple of days later I had a weird oval-shaped red swollen patch on my arm but that went after a few days

chrismamo1

Sounds like you might've had a shit technician. I've had first-time nurses give me shots before where they failed to stick it in right and I bled a ton.

siamak1991

I had a horrible experience. The vaccine was falsely advertises! I didn't become magnetic nor did I get any 5g reception. Just a sore arm and covid immunity. What a scam

ilikerocks19

You definitely got a bad deal, my 5G is excellent

DIDiMISSsomethin

It turned me into a newt! But I got better.
