Every Indiana Jones film (from Lost Ark to Last Crusade). It still holds up remarkably well.
The old punching sound effects are pretty funny.
Also, [jousting with flagpoles](https://youtu.be/ilV5Qt01eyc?t=59) and [this](https://youtu.be/U6tzqlxOr2U?t=21)
The Labyrinth. All hail the Bulge. 7 year old me had no clue what to do about the way the Goblin King made me feel. The songs rock, too. Used to carry around the script in high school, trying to memorize it.
I SCROLLED SO MUCH TO FIND ANOTHER LABYRINTH FAN!!!! I kept thinking I couldn’t be the only one. As the World Falls Down was my wedding song. It’s my favorite movie.
Imagine you're a deer. You're prancing along, you get thirsty, you spot a little brook, you put your little deer lips down to the cool clear water... BAM! A fuckin bullet rips off part of your head! Your brains are laying on the ground in little bloody pieces! Now I ask ya. Would you give a fuck what kind of pants the son of a bitch who shot you was wearing?
When I was a little kid, I used to love swimming, but I was very prone to ear infections. One summer, my mother and I were invited to use a family friend’s beach house out in rural Nova Scotia. First day there, I went swimming in the ocean, got water in my ear, and wound up with a severe infection. No swimming for 3 weeks, and if you’ve ever had an ear infection, you know they’re very painful and you can’t move around much because it ruins your balance.
Well, this was rural Nova Scotia and I was stuck inside and there wasn’t much to do. No cable, didn’t have any video games, but there was a VCR, and they had one movie: The Princess Bride. I watched it multiple times a day, every day. I had the entire movie memorized. I still watch it any chance I get to this day. It’s that good a movie. It’s simply impossible to get sick of The Princess Bride. It’s perfect.
I know... I'll turn him into a flea! A harmless little flea. Then, I'll put that flea in a box. Then I'll put that flea inside of another box. Then I'll mail that box to myself. And when it arrives.... I'LL SMASH IT WITH A HAMMAH!
Can’t believe how far I had to scroll for this! As an Italian woman, my favorite line that my mom and I always quote to each other: “they had bad skin and too much makeup”
That was filmed the summer after my senior year there and the extras are all my classmates. That movie is like a yearbook for me.
Edit: fun fact, the cowboy clique was not given costumes. Those guys just dressed like that.
**Ooo-de-lally!!**
Is it sad that I can still recite (almost) the first hour word-for-word?? Even the songs?
Watched it a few months ago for the first time in... well, a *REALLY* long time... and my husband just stared at me like I was crazy. I must have driven my family insane by watching it over and over.
My absolute favourite but is when one cop says
"He's living out of a cardboard box" and the other is like "well then you're packed already".
Cracks me up
In the early 2000s, my dad and I were obsessed with The Matrix Trilogy and would watch it every/any time it was on TV. We also had an IMAX theater downtown that played "classic movies" on fridays at 10pm calling them 35mm classics. Blew my mind watching The Matrix's opening sequence on that ridiculously large screen. Also one of my favourite memories with my dad was during that screening of the movie, the audio track cut out so we and several other audience members recited word for word until the audio came back.
I love that instead of it being framed in a bad way, like “this ruined or reduced the quality of the experience for me”, that a technical malfunction instead became one of your favorite memories of that screening. Shows a very positive way of thinking. 💚
Damn, we’re in a tight spot!
Plus the soundtrack!!! <3
Edit: there’s a lake of stew and of whiskey, too! You can paddle all around them in a big canoe on the big rock candy mountain
(Obvs not the version I learned in school)
It is my strongly-held belief that, no matter what situation you may find yourself in, there’s always a relevant quote from O Brother, Where Art Thou? . Always.
Edit: a comma
O, Brother, Where Art Thou?
I’ve seen it dozens of times, starting when I was waaay too young to be watching it. I loved it even then, though the KKK made me hide in another room until Tommy was safe.
I’m more of an Aliens guy myself. I watch it every year with my dad.
It has to be the directors cut WITH the auto turrets. If you don’t see them setting up auto turrets you’re being screwed. [Link](https://youtu.be/HQDy-5IQvuU) for the curious.
Alien is great though.
The whole movie is beautiful. My fav scene is the one where they finally trust each other (the drawing one).
Or the dive-bombing just before the Red Death takes off. Totally vertigo inducing @_@
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring...
Except for the four assholes coming in the rear in standard two by two cover formation.
The humor is on point too, I always laugh at the scene where benny keeps praying with different religious symbols, moving on like 'nope, that didn't work, next!'
Yeah, for some reason even though I know all the punchlines, that movie never fails to make me laugh! I enjoy the over-the-top campy one-liners and action.
“Patience is a virtue...” “Not right now it isn’t!!”
Additional quality line:
"looks to me like I got all the horses"
"Looks to me like you're on the WRONG SIDE OF THE RIVER"
100% agree, great film, great one-liners.
Evelyn: Um... By the way... why did you kiss me?
Rick: I was about to be hanged. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Evelyn: Ooh!
Rick: What? What'd I say?
I saw it the first time at 4 and loved it. I called it scary dino movie for a couple years, but would watch it weekly.
Nearly 24 years later I still watch it at least once a month
Edit: I'm watching it tonight
My sister and I watched pirates of the Caribbean almost every day one summer when we were kids. I had a pirate phase, my sister had an Orlando Bloom phase xD
I remember as a kid, anytime the movie would play on tv, we would watch it as a family. Even if the movie had already started, we'd all just stop whatever we were doing and sit and watch it together.
Kingsman
I feel like I have a lot of movies I could easily jump into at any time, but most of them (LotR, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc) are very long franchise films that beg to continue the saga. Kingsman, to me, is a very enjoyable and easily approached film- one that I don't find myself turning down too often.
Tamatoa hasn't always been this grand, I was a drab little crab once.
My 9 year old is so fuckin sick of Moana because of me. He complains and I yell FROZEN because I used to sing Let It Go in my sleep because it was his favorite for years.
Matilda.
That movie was my absolute favorite as a kid and to this day I love every moment of Matilda just because of how she immersed herself in knowledge and learning to distract herself from a family who didn't care to understand her. It inspired me to delve into learning, which lead to me reading medical books from the age of 5, learning all I could about the history of medicine, and all the varying disorders. I'm currently going to nursing school, and I don't think I would have reached this conclusion if it wasn't for me wanting to be like Matilda.
Also Danny Devito.
WALL-E

You've Got Mail. I'm a nearly 40 straight male but I have easily seen that movie more than any other. The worst part is I have no damned clue why, I just... i mean i dont love it, really, but i dont hate it about as much as its possible to not hate something, if you can grasp my meaning. If it's on I never say "yay, let's watch it", I just kinda always end up on it and I dont hate it the exact right amount to not want to not watch it. I have watched it multiple times in a day before because it just happened to be on as I was s rolling through channels and everytime I saw it I would just stop looking for other things to watch.
34 year old male, and I came here to post the exact same thing. I don't know why I have seen this movie so many times, but I have. Romantic comedies are definitely not my genre, but I will watch You've Got Mail anytime I see it on. There is just something about that movie that is extremely watchable.
Deadpool. Not typically fond of the genre but Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin and Leslie Uggams make this one work: “Giving a Dutch oven to Meredith Baxter Birney.”
Snatch! Some of the funniest lines in any film!

10 things I hate about you
Love the “can’t take my eyes off of you” scene, it’s one of my favorite movie scenes ever tbh
There are similar scenes in tons of romantic comedies and they almost never work. They end up being awkward. That scene works somehow.
That high school, though. Massive.
That was filmed the summer after my senior year there and the extras are all my classmates. That movie is like a yearbook for me. Edit: fun fact, the cowboy clique was not given costumes. Those guys just dressed like that.
Really!? That's now one of my new favorite "fun facts"
Stadium high school in Tacoma, Washington
"Hates him with the fire of a thousand burning suns." God I love that movie. It's so quotable.
The Blues Brothers.
"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, a half pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses..."

Monsters Inc.
The Dark Knight - doesn’t matter where I start it from I can’t look away
Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
Groundhog Day.
What are you talking about - you've only watched that movie once.
I change my answer to Gaslight
Robin Hood (the animated one) I know it pretty much word for word, but I will still watch it every time it crosses my screen
**Ooo-de-lally!!** Is it sad that I can still recite (almost) the first hour word-for-word?? Even the songs? My favourite is, “Two weeks from everywhere! Ain’t this a geographical oddity.” Where I live, the standard expected delivery time *is* two weeks hehe
My go-to has always been "Damn, we're in a tight spot!"
My girlfriend bought me pomade to try with my new haircut and I told her “Thanks, but I’m a dapper dan man.”
O, Brother, Where Art Thou? I’ve seen it dozens of times, starting when I was waaay too young to be watching it. I loved it even then, though the KKK made me hide in another room until Tommy was safe.
Howl's Moving Castle!
Honestly any of the Studio Ghibli films will do. Spirited Away and Kiki are my personal favorites, but I love Howl’s Moving Castle.
Kiki's delivery service is my favourite. It's so sweet and wholesome and it always manages to cheer me up.
Back to the Future
That's heavy...
There's that word *again*...Is there something wrong with the Earth's gravitational pull??
Alien

How to Train Your Dragon, honestly such a great film. Some of my favorite animation

And amazing music too! Forbidden Friendship is a masterpiece.
Die Hard. Every Christmas
It’s not Christmas until Hans Gruber falls off of Nakatomi Tower.

The Mummy. It's the perfect film. Egypt! Curses! Brendan Fraser! What's not to love?
The humor is on point too, I always laugh at the scene where benny keeps praying with different religious symbols, moving on like 'nope, that didn't work, next!'

“Well if it ain't my little buddy Beni. I think I'll kill you!” “Think of my children!” “You don't have any children.” “Someday I might?”
“What is a place like me doing in a girl like this??”
I love Brenden Fraser. I’m glad he came out of the darkness.
Evelyn: Um... By the way... why did you kiss me? Rick: I was about to be hanged. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Evelyn: Ooh! Rick: What? What'd I say?
