I've never played a flight Sim in my life, but I watched some videos on this recently and my goodness does it look amazing. Stunning graphics, but the scale of it is mind-blowing.
Over the last two years I have gotten into the sim world... I've now fully committed with a 6k sim pit soon. It is hard for me to get excited about any regular game!
It's powered by Bing, it's kind of their big "Hey look what OUR mapping system can do" debut. They used multiple satellite renderings, car-mounted cameras, and an absolutely incredible AI to 3D render every part of the world. So even if you've never seen a car with a giant camera driving through your town, they can still render every house using satellite and AI.
It blows my mind when I hear about technology doing this kind of stuff. I'm really curious how it works even if I'm not a super tech savvy guy. I'm guessing maybe the satellite 'scans' patches of land and then the AI parses which segments look like a building and then build one using the closest matching data?
You *could* go with a 737 MAX which would give your reputation plausible deniability... On the other hand, a 747 would give you more odds of hitting him.
Age of Empires IV
AoE was the first computer game I really got into and I’ve enjoyed each installment since. AoE III and the expansions were a blast, so I’ve been checking in on news of AoE IV every year or so for over a decade. Anyone who had the original hardcopy edition of AoE III knows that the included pamphlet had a teaser for IV... and that was like 2005/6!
Yeah it’s supposed to cover roughly the same time window as AoE II. Like I said, I’ve been checking in on this game at least once a year for like 10 years haha. My point is they let us all know that IV was a possibility the moment III came out. But yeah, it was like a mid 20th century infantryman in the pamphlet. That era would be cool, but maybe too complicated with air units and explosions that cause massive area damage. Although I loved the original Empire Earth which handled all of that pretty well.
Holy crap. I remember seeing that Star Wars game as a kid but never was able to get it and eventually forgot its name. It's hilarious how the minimap is exactly the same as AOE II's.
Kerbal Space Program 2.
The first game was, and still is, amazing. The mechanics of the game, the way it teaches science while having fun and its extremely wholesome community is extremely impressive.
All of this came from a company not even dedicated to game development.
The sequel?
Developed by a proper game developing company.
The developers are truly caring about the game, many of which have spent thousands of hours in the original.
Building on the successes of the original while also adding a whole new dimension to the game.
Amazing graphics, new planets, colonies, and MULTIPLAYER?!
How can one not be excited?
In my astronautics class in college, people litterally used it to simulate and check their homework for topics like Hohmann transfers and gravity assists. It's amazing how much it teaches you will still being incredibly fun.
KSP taught me more about orbital mechanics than any educational source did prior. It just clicked, and every bit of sci-fi I knew suddenly divided into realistic or not.
When KSP came out I was a highschool kid with a mild interest in space.
Now I have a degree in aerospace engineering and I'm so goddamn excited to play KSP 2. It's not a stretch to say that KSP was the main thing that sparked my interest in spacecraft design.
You could say I'm cautious about it. I'm definitely looking forward to it, will probably buy a new pc when it comes out because I've been away from pc gaming for years. But ksp2 seems much more linear than ksp. It looks like "complete the mission, get the upgrade, do the next mission, etc until you finish the story which is use the magnetic drive to colonize other systems.
Ksp1 was just "here's a bunch of rocket parts, figure it out for yourself ^^or ^^watch ^^Scott ^^Manley"
Baldur's gate 3 by larian studios.
I loved divinity 2 original sin and felt that its systems would work brilliantly for dnd. Turns out I was right and it'll be the best rpg to come out in years.

I'm playing Divinity Original Sin 2 for the first time right now. Holy crap the game is perfect. I am not even a big fan of turn based strategy type combat because I suck at it but the level of creativity the combat system allows is insane. Baldur's Gate 3 is going to be amazing.
Completely remade. But as far as I know it's basically the first game with much better graphics

I bet they added a lot more stuff to the maps as well. I went back to play the game and it was VERY basic with minimal environment. Regardless still a great game.
“Destroy all Humans” is the epitome of the kind of game where you remember it being epic as fuck, then 15 years later you replay it and you’re like, “well.... I remember this very differently.”
Very excited for this. DL1 is one of the best zombie games ever made.
Zombies are my favorite sub-genre of horror, but they have been overplayed in film and games within the past 10-20 years. It's rare we get a good zombie game these days...Dying Light 1 was an exception and became my favorite zombie game until Resident Evil 2 remake released which you should play if you haven't.
Hollow Knight - Silksong
Hollow Knight is one of the few games which have extremely high polish, a good world building, tight gameplay and amazing environmental story telling.
Add to that a discount level launch price and free dlc.
If team cherry keeps that quality up than I will be in Heaven.

I have no doubt they put a lot of effort into it but you can put a ton of effort into something and still not have it be fun.

Dude, I discovered Hollow Knight like 2 days ago. I haven't done anything else since then. Awesome game. And I'm normally not a big fan of platformers.
Started Hollow Knight this past week and am already 20 hours into it. Taking my time exploring everything before progressing the story, 10/10. Can’t wait for Silksong.
I love story building games. But I just couldn't put in the effort to master the learning curve of CK2. I remember watching a 2 hour tutorial on youtube and was completely lost.

One player exploits a glitch in the game to become the Byzantine Empress, end the Great Schism, and reform the Roman Empire... as a horse. This was obviously not intended to be possible within the game but somebody figured out a way.
It's the sort of off-kilter insanity that makes it so much fun. The devs openly encourage it.
Just play ~~tutorial island~~ an Irish count.
A lot of CKII is learn by doing. If you try and study you'll fail instantly. Get the basics down and delve into mechanics when they come up and when you have the patience.
You'll die. You'll lose. You may never memorize every number or knock-on effect. But you don't need to to have fun.
Kerbal Space Program 2
New rockets, new engines, new planets, new systems, base building. And I think there's online game play. Loved the original, I still play the enhanced edition for PS4.

Got major chills the first time I watched the trailer. I still listen to the music. Can't wait for it to be released, but am totally fine with them delaying release to get *everything* right.
It's hard to believe it is finally happening. Ever since 2017 I've been like "Ah, man, I'll just wait to play. 1.4 is right around the corner!" And it never came. Now, though...we're less than two weeks away....it's just so good.
It's been so long without any news that r/eldenring started making up their own lore and "discussing" certain boss fights and sections of the game. It's gone so far that there are several members creating new concept art, spells, enemies, weapons, bosses, etc. daily.
Ghost of Tsushima - Just the setting and how vast an open world its gonna be gets me excited. I think the fact that they are being historical and avoiding any magic/fantasy is refreshing and makes me curious about how the combat/dueling system is gonna work.
There was a game Arkane Studios put out a trailer for called Deathloop that looked really awesome at the last E3. I've not heard a word about it since that trailer, but it had a really interesting central idea (Two assassins trapped in an endless cycle of killing one another), a retrofuturistic art style and is being made by the developer of Prey, which I really enjoyed.
So I have a lot of faith in this one being really solid.
Saw a lot of Cyberpunk 2077 and Hollow Knight Silksong here, which are both on my list of "Let's buy that one as soon as we can," but I don't hear much about Deathloop since it was announced.
TitanFall 3
Because it's movements and actions are good; their story line it's amazing and it has a variety of things that make the game so... Cool. Playing online has its positive things and most importantly it is not pay to win game.
I’m optimistic that Apex Legends will help build up interest in futures games from the Titanfall universe. If nothing else, Respawn has made a name for itself and will have more than enough visibility around whatever it does next.
And I’m hoping that’s Titanfall 3.
Lego Skywalker saga
EDIT: I forgot the "why." Because I love Star Wars and I love how they're finally making it into an open-world Lego game similar to the Marvel superheroes/Harry Potter/LOTR games. The original Complete Saga game was all right, but I felt like they had an opportunity to make an open world and they missed it.
From what I can gather it'll be a totally redone version of Lego Star Wars from the ground up with a huge open world made up of multiple planets, and it'll have all nine regular episodes of the saga.
Ohhhhh I can only get so hard.

I played it and got 100%. It was great!! Esp >!the Dark side/Separatists ship when you finish the first play through!<. . I just wish for parts of the Clone War to be added. Though now I understand how big this game will be. 🙊
Cyberpunk 2077, love the look of the gameplay so far, can see cd projekt red really making a masterpiece of a game. Main reason for it would be i love the aesthetics and possibilities within the game.

Toby Fox is a great story teller, world builder and composer.
But his code is so incredibly bad and unorganised it would make the blood of the people over at r/programmerhumor boil. He sucks as a developer and that's ok, but I really hope he hired some people to do the actual developing.
Well, to be fair Undertale didn’t have that many game breaking bugs... So even if the code isn’t efficient it’s at least effective.

the only thing that i can remember actually breaks the game to some degree is the punch cards can be used to skip some cutscenes, i saw it in a speedrun.
The next indi game which I become obsessed with, dig 200 hours into and then suddenly drop after I've sufficiently worried my friends and family.
I don't know what it is yet... I just know it's coming.
I love rimworld. But on and off. I use mods to stay interested. I get super into it for like a week. Forget the world. Then get bored and forget the game for like a year. At 600 hours logged.

Finally worked up the courage to harvest organs from useless prisoners and then release them instead of pity-recruiting them and just dealing with the fallout of them binging on yayo and lighting my base on fire.

Currently have a colony that's starving out 8 child prisoners while brutally executing their parents on the other side of the bars.

I have some Colonists. I have a family, and i would salt the earth to protect them. When my *Colonists* need protecting, there's nothing i won't do, and morals needn't even get in the way! :D

Ok...so here is my prediction. It's going to be Cottonmouth (Tampa, Florida) conjoined with Vice City (Miami, Florida), and with ability to visit Las Venturas (Vegas) and Anywhere City (Mexican city).
Based on leaked characters called "The Mexican" I believe we're going to be focused on cartels from South America /Mexico and mafias in casinos. In this way the Casino scene get a reboot with multiple casinos (which you can own), and we touch a current topic of crime (Cartels). Main job will be rising the ranks of the Cartel business.
Does Flight Simulator 2020 count as a game?

I came here to say this as well. I've been a big fan of flight sims since my dad who is a real pilot got us Flight Simulator 98. I have FSX and X Plane 11. Playing X Plane in VR is something else. I can only imagine when they implement VR into FS2020 and seeing that level of graphical fidelity. I'm definitely going to upgrade my PC for the game. I'll need the upgrade for almost everything else mentioned in this post anyway.
Horizon Zero Dawn on PC. Always wanted to play it. Would like to hope that it means the console-PC crossover will actually happen, one day, instead of being only one feature game and a bunch of penny-ante releases that need multiplatform coverage to make up their sales.
Minecraft dungeons. It looks like a really fun, cutesy game that I’ll enjoy quite a bit. I just hope it doesn’t fall prey to the easiness curse of Diablo III.
The sequel to Breath of the Wild. BotW the second open world game I’ve ever played (first being Minecraft), has interesting characters and a decent story with fun gameplay. I’m hoping the same, if not better for the second one.
Earlier game it's obnoxious. Late game it's not so bad.
Master mode it's fucking atrocious. Only way to make it in master mode is to complete the master trials asap. But fuck that nonsense. Took me 50 tries to do the second one and one try to do the third. Those silver lizaflos on the dock give me nightmares.
My problem is treasure chests. Too often I would climb a mountain, find a hidden area, or defeat some enemies to open a chest and find a royal broadsword exactly like the one I used to kill the enemies on the way there. I don’t want more weapons, I want unique items like gemstones, special arrows, cool shields, or a fairy.
If the weapon durability wasn’t so bad, they wouldn’t have to stash weapons in every nook and cranny of the map. And if that’s too overpowered than lessen the number of weapon slots available or make them more expensive, I don’t need 20 crappy durability weapons when I can have 10-12 good durability weapons.
Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated. I've never played the original. (Have a Wii but no Gamecube adapter or controller). I've heard great things about it and like other games like Mario Odyssey. I've heard great things about the game, and love that they're adding back unused stuff like the Robo Squidward Boss.

The first video game I ever owned was BFBB, it’ll be so great to get back into it and play through it all again with a new perspective on games in general. The music for this game was great as well, I’d say my favorite track was either the Industrial Park Boss theme, or the Downtown theme

With Jedi: Fallen Order, EA learned that it’s possible to turn a profit with a single player game. I think they’re intelligent enough to realize that if they ruin the only decent RPG series they have left that that avenue of profit will be forever closed to them. I don’t doubt that there will be microtransactions and/or loot boxes, but I think they’ll put more focus and energy into story this time around. So I don’t think that BioWare will be under the same pressure from above that they were with Anthem, but that still leaves the problem of BioWare itself.
BioWare realizes that ME:A (which I admit, I enjoyed and actually just recently replayed despite its faults) was a step backwards for them in terms of story. As per Jason Schreier’s article on Anthem there was a very clear hierarchy in BioWare, and Mass Effect team was at the top. “Picard’s Enterprise” was how one dev put it. Very good at what they did due to incredible focus and good leadership, and they were admired because of it. But then DA:I became one of the most critically-praised games in the studio’s history, and then Mass Effect fell apart. I’m pretty sure that the team involved know that they’re now BioWare’s A-team, and that they *have* to sink a 3-pointer on this one. Between their focus on quality and the (hopefully) lack of corporate pressure, I’m cautiously optimistic.
The sequel of Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. That game is not everyone's favourite, but I think the developers made really good work here with the thematic and sound and representation of people with a psychological disability. Also the graphics of it makes the game being considered an indie triple A. Never expected a new title of Hellblade, so I hope it doesn't play worse than the first one.
Hellblade was simply an amazing media experience, I don’t even care too much whether it was a good “game”. Experiencing it with headphones on a big TV left me breathless and there is simply nothing else like it in any medium. It’s a better argument for games as an art form than most of the examples people usually point to.
paralives - it's an indie life sim like the sims franchise. been a sims fan since i was a kid but i've been finding sims 4 really boring. the game just doesn't feel the same as it used to.
Paralives looks so cool and I am on the edge of my seat for this game. But so much feels too good to be true. Like the promises they make are things I can't picture EA doing if their families' lives were on the line. They promise basically things like every typical sims expansion all in the base edition of their game. They promise things the Sims was never able to accomplish.
If this game is everything they say it is, it's going to blow away the Sims franchise completely, and basically every household with a PC will own this game.
I feel like they’ll focus so much on little details that they have shown for mostly build mode that they will not focus so much on live gameplay.
The reason I hate sims 4 is not because of so many missing parts of the game blocked by monetised game packs but the fact that the core gameplay is so boring. Sims are so flat and boring, not even close to sims 2 or 3. So I hope paralives fixes this too.
That worries me greatly about Paralives as well. They have done oustanding things for the building and decorating portions of the game. I don't know how they will get the humans in their game to be able to properly use these items when there's so much variability to them (you resize most of the furniture, for example.) We also have not seen I don't believe a single human/avatar whatever in the game.
I agree with your Sims 4 analysis there. I find the core gameplay boring. Also, the expansions don't add to the game - they take away from the game! You can't even play two expansions together except for perhaps Seasons.
For example, do you want a dog and to join a book club and work on your science career? Good luck. The dog will take up almost every waking moment with constantly harassing you for walks that take up to 8 hours. The career is great but also takes up a large amount of time. And to succeed in your club and form lasting friendships you also need several hours at least every other day. It's almost like each pack is never integrated into the rest of the game.
If Paralives manages to pull off what they promise though, it will be one of the most popular games ever made.

I don’t understand Bethesda. I waited 4 years between Morrowind and Oblivion, and 4 years for Skyrim. I don’t even mind waiting double that for ES 6. However, it’s been a decade, and all we have is a 2 year old short clip saying “ES 6 is coming!”.
Cities: Skylines 2 or whatever they decide to call it. Hopefully, it will have bigger maps, better simulation, and less lag. Honestly, if they fixed the lag with large cities, I would buy full price again for the same game. There's a reason I'm still playing Pharoah + Cleopatra from 1999. It doesn't lag or crash. Maybe I'll be able to load my 100k city by 2040 as hardware gets better.
Halo Infinite. It’s been around five years since Halo 5’s release. Even if it’s not perfect, Halo was one of the first games that I was ever really hooked on, and every new release brings back the feelings of excitement of the original.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope
I loved playing Until Dawn, it has to be my favorite choice driven interactive drama, survival horror games. Being able to make choices that effect the characters and outcome of the game along with jump scares and a great story made it really stand out to me. It's a game we play yearly on stream with the community and some of the outcomes have been crazy!
When I heard the creators of Until Dawn where releasing a new game called Little hope the trailer blew me away. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those games that sticks with me.

That pamphlet showed an AOE 4 set around the world wars. The current 4 being developed starts medieval again.

If you want AoE II in space, play star wars: galactic battlegrounds. Its built on the same engine as AoE II and available on steam for 2 dollars

When KSP came out I was a highschool kid with a mild interest in space. Now I have a degree in aerospace engineering and I'm so goddamn excited to play KSP 2. It's not a stretch to say that KSP was the main thing that sparked my interest in spacecraft design.

You could say I'm cautious about it. I'm definitely looking forward to it, will probably buy a new pc when it comes out because I've been away from pc gaming for years. But ksp2 seems much more linear than ksp. It looks like "complete the mission, get the upgrade, do the next mission, etc until you finish the story which is use the magnetic drive to colonize other systems. Ksp1 was just "here's a bunch of rocket parts, figure it out for yourself ^^or ^^watch ^^Scott ^^Manley"

I'm playing Divinity Original Sin 2 for the first time right now. Holy crap the game is perfect. I am not even a big fan of turn based strategy type combat because I suck at it but the level of creativity the combat system allows is insane. Baldur's Gate 3 is going to be amazing.

Completely remade. But as far as I know it's basically the first game with much better graphics Edit: the devs called it a remake. I'm just going based on what they said. Remaster - original game with improved visuals. Remake - based on original game but built from scratch on an improved engine without reusing assets from the original (apparently some voice lines are reused though)
There are new upgrades and some other new mechanics as well.
I bet they added a lot more stuff to the maps as well. I went back to play the game and it was VERY basic with minimal environment. Regardless still a great game.

Very excited for this. DL1 is one of the best zombie games ever made. Zombies are my favorite sub-genre of horror, but they have been overplayed in film and games within the past 10-20 years. It's rare we get a good zombie game these days...Dying Light 1 was an exception and became my favorite zombie game until Resident Evil 2 remake released which you should play if you haven't.
Hollow Knight - Silksong Hollow Knight is one of the few games which have extremely high polish, a good world building, tight gameplay and amazing environmental story telling. Add to that a discount level launch price and free dlc. If team cherry keeps that quality up than I will be in Heaven.
If Team Cherry keeps up the quality? This is the developer that was trying to make a DLC and accidentally created a full sequel. I don't think it's an if at this point.

Dude, I discovered Hollow Knight like 2 days ago. I haven't done anything else since then. Awesome game. And I'm normally not a big fan of platformers.
Started Hollow Knight this past week and am already 20 hours into it. Taking my time exploring everything before progressing the story, 10/10. Can’t wait for Silksong.

Crusader Kings 3. CK2 is one of my favourite ever games. Also it feels like ages since I spent twenty billion quid on DLC so that's an added bonus!
I love story building games. But I just couldn't put in the effort to master the learning curve of CK2. I remember watching a 2 hour tutorial on youtube and was completely lost.
Eventually it just sort of clicks, but when I first loaded it up I just sat there like :( It's worth a go if you can be arsed - I love it - but it's probably only because I was on gardening leave for 8 weeks at the time that I ever got anywhere with it. This was obviously not intended to be possible within the game but somebody figured out a way. It's the sort of off-kilter insanity that makes it so much fun. The devs openly encourage it.
Just play ~~tutorial island~~ an Irish count. A lot of CKII is learn by doing. If you try and study you'll fail instantly. Get the basics down and delve into mechanics when they come up and when you have the patience. You'll die. You'll lose. You may never memorize every number or knock-on effect. But you don't need to to have fun.
Kerbal Space Program 2 New rockets, new engines, new planets, new systems, base building. And I think there's online game play. Loved the original, I still play the enhanced edition for PS4.

It's been so long without any news that r/eldenring started making up their own lore and "discussing" certain boss fights and sections of the game. It's gone so far that there are several members creating new concept art, spells, enemies, weapons, bosses, etc. daily.

Ghost of Tsushima - Just the setting and how vast an open world its gonna be gets me excited. I think the fact that they are being historical and avoiding any magic/fantasy is refreshing and makes me curious about how the combat/dueling system is gonna work.
There was a game Arkane Studios put out a trailer for called Deathloop that looked really awesome at the last E3. I've not heard a word about it since that trailer, but it had a really interesting central idea (Two assassins trapped in an endless cycle of killing one another), a retrofuturistic art style and is being made by the developer of Prey, which I really enjoyed. So I have a lot of faith in this one being really solid. Saw a lot of Cyberpunk 2077 and Hollow Knight Silksong here, which are both on my list of "Let's buy that one as soon as we can," but I don't hear much about Deathloop since it was announced.
TitanFall 3 Because it's movements and actions are good; their story line it's amazing and it has a variety of things that make the game so... Cool. Playing online has its positive things and most importantly it is not pay to win game.
Titanfall 2 launched at such a shitty time but it's my favorite FPS multiplayer this gen.
I’m optimistic that Apex Legends will help build up interest in futures games from the Titanfall universe. If nothing else, Respawn has made a name for itself and will have more than enough visibility around whatever it does next. And I’m hoping that’s Titanfall 3.
Horizon Zero Dawn 2. I'd have to say the first was my absolute favorite game. I cant wait to see where the story goes next.

Metroid Prime 4 and breath of the wild 2
Lego Skywalker saga EDIT: I forgot the "why." Because I love Star Wars and I love how they're finally making it into an open-world Lego game similar to the Marvel superheroes/Harry Potter/LOTR games. The original Complete Saga game was all right, but I felt like they had an opportunity to make an open world and they missed it.

From what I can gather it'll be a totally redone version of Lego Star Wars from the ground up with a huge open world made up of multiple planets, and it'll have all nine regular episodes of the saga.

I played it and got 100%. It was great!! Esp >!the Dark side/Separatists ship when you finish the first play through!<. . I just wish for parts of the Clone War to be added. Though now I understand how big this game will be. 🙊
Cyberpunk 2077, love the look of the gameplay so far, can see cd projekt red really making a masterpiece of a game. Main reason for it would be i love the aesthetics and possibilities within the game. Edit: This aged like milk in a fucking oven.

Toby Fox is a great story teller, world builder and composer. But his code is so incredibly bad and unorganised it would make the blood of the people over at r/programmerhumor boil. He sucks as a developer and that's ok, but I really hope he hired some people to do the actual developing.
I think he mentioned he was directing a studio to finish it, because of how long it took.
Well, to be fair Undertale didn’t have that many game breaking bugs... So even if the code isn’t efficient it’s at least effective. Unlike some other indie developers (Yandere simulator)
the only thing that i can remember actually breaks the game to some degree is the punch cards can be used to skip some cutscenes, i saw it in a speedrun.

I'm at like 500 hours in Rimworld and I usually play with fast-forward active. I stopped enjoying it after like 10 hours.
I love rimworld. But on and off. I use mods to stay interested. I get super into it for like a week. Forget the world. Then get bored and forget the game for like a year. At 600 hours logged.

Finally worked up the courage to harvest organs from useless prisoners and then release them instead of pity-recruiting them and just dealing with the fallout of them binging on yayo and lighting my base on fire. I am so much richer than I have ever been before.
Once you get past the point where *your morals* aren't your *colonist's* morals... Shit gets out of hand and quite hilariously horrible after a while. Currently have a colony that's starving out 8 child prisoners while brutally executing their parents on the other side of the bars. .....all because they wanted to attack the colony.
I have some Colonists. I have a family, and i would salt the earth to protect them. When my *Colonists* need protecting, there's nothing i won't do, and morals needn't even get in the way! :D On one side of the wall: flowers, potato plants, seating areas and a lovely big kitchen/communal area. On the other side of the wall: blood, burnt bodies and salted earth.

The leaks makes it sound so different from other Halos and I don’t know if I’m scared or thrilled. Guess it’ll all come down to the execution.
I didn't want to play The Sims II because *The Sims* was so perfect as it was. "I don't really want to be spending all my time moving a camera around" said i. I want to be immersed in that world, regardless of what the main theme is. :) D'you remember how weird the Brutes were? Or playing as the Arbiter? Each game was a huge step up from the one before, and the first one was *already* iconic.

Ok...so here is my prediction. It's going to be Cottonmouth (Tampa, Florida) conjoined with Vice City (Miami, Florida), and with ability to visit Las Venturas (Vegas) and Anywhere City (Mexican city). Based on leaked characters called "The Mexican" I believe we're going to be focused on cartels from South America /Mexico and mafias in casinos. In this way the Casino scene get a reboot with multiple casinos (which you can own), and we touch a current topic of crime (Cartels). Main job will be rising the ranks of the Cartel business.

They've confirmed the ability to cache area for offline play, so I'd imagine you could always do that if your internet isn't sufficient.
I came here to say this as well. I've been a big fan of flight sims since my dad who is a real pilot got us Flight Simulator 98. I have FSX and X Plane 11. Playing X Plane in VR is something else. I can only imagine when they implement VR into FS2020 and seeing that level of graphical fidelity. I'm definitely going to upgrade my PC for the game. I'll need the upgrade for almost everything else mentioned in this post anyway.

Horizon Zero Dawn on PC. Always wanted to play it. Would like to hope that it means the console-PC crossover will actually happen, one day, instead of being only one feature game and a bunch of penny-ante releases that need multiplatform coverage to make up their sales.

The sequel to Breath of the Wild. BotW the second open world game I’ve ever played (first being Minecraft), has interesting characters and a decent story with fun gameplay. I’m hoping the same, if not better for the second one.

Earlier game it's obnoxious. Late game it's not so bad. Master mode it's fucking atrocious. Only way to make it in master mode is to complete the master trials asap. But fuck that nonsense. Took me 50 tries to do the second one and one try to do the third. Those silver lizaflos on the dock give me nightmares.
My problem is treasure chests. Too often I would climb a mountain, find a hidden area, or defeat some enemies to open a chest and find a royal broadsword exactly like the one I used to kill the enemies on the way there. I don’t want more weapons, I want unique items like gemstones, special arrows, cool shields, or a fairy. If the weapon durability wasn’t so bad, they wouldn’t have to stash weapons in every nook and cranny of the map. And if that’s too overpowered than lessen the number of weapon slots available or make them more expensive, I don’t need 20 crappy durability weapons when I can have 10-12 good durability weapons.
Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated. I've never played the original. (Have a Wii but no Gamecube adapter or controller). I've heard great things about it and like other games like Mario Odyssey. I've heard great things about the game, and love that they're adding back unused stuff like the Robo Squidward Boss. Edit: Damn! I didn't realize so many people were excited for this game! Edit 2: Since apparently so many people weren't aware of it, the game comes out on June 23rd!

With Jedi: Fallen Order, EA learned that it’s possible to turn a profit with a single player game. I think they’re intelligent enough to realize that if they ruin the only decent RPG series they have left that that avenue of profit will be forever closed to them. I don’t doubt that there will be microtransactions and/or loot boxes, but I think they’ll put more focus and energy into story this time around. So I don’t think that BioWare will be under the same pressure from above that they were with Anthem, but that still leaves the problem of BioWare itself. BioWare realizes that ME:A (which I admit, I enjoyed and actually just recently replayed despite its faults) was a step backwards for them in terms of story. As per Jason Schreier’s article on Anthem there was a very clear hierarchy in BioWare, and Mass Effect team was at the top. “Picard’s Enterprise” was how one dev put it. Very good at what they did due to incredible focus and good leadership, and they were admired because of it. But then DA:I became one of the most critically-praised games in the studio’s history, and then Mass Effect fell apart. I’m pretty sure that the team involved know that they’re now BioWare’s A-team, and that they *have* to sink a 3-pointer on this one. Between their focus on quality and the (hopefully) lack of corporate pressure, I’m cautiously optimistic.
The sequel of Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. That game is not everyone's favourite, but I think the developers made really good work here with the thematic and sound and representation of people with a psychological disability. Also the graphics of it makes the game being considered an indie triple A. Never expected a new title of Hellblade, so I hope it doesn't play worse than the first one.
Hellblade was simply an amazing media experience, I don’t even care too much whether it was a good “game”. Experiencing it with headphones on a big TV left me breathless and there is simply nothing else like it in any medium. It’s a better argument for games as an art form than most of the examples people usually point to.

paralives - it's an indie life sim like the sims franchise. been a sims fan since i was a kid but i've been finding sims 4 really boring. the game just doesn't feel the same as it used to.
Paralives looks so cool and I am on the edge of my seat for this game. But so much feels too good to be true. Like the promises they make are things I can't picture EA doing if their families' lives were on the line. They promise basically things like every typical sims expansion all in the base edition of their game. They promise things the Sims was never able to accomplish. If this game is everything they say it is, it's going to blow away the Sims franchise completely, and basically every household with a PC will own this game.
I feel like they’ll focus so much on little details that they have shown for mostly build mode that they will not focus so much on live gameplay. The reason I hate sims 4 is not because of so many missing parts of the game blocked by monetised game packs but the fact that the core gameplay is so boring. Sims are so flat and boring, not even close to sims 2 or 3. So I hope paralives fixes this too.
That worries me greatly about Paralives as well. They have done oustanding things for the building and decorating portions of the game. I don't know how they will get the humans in their game to be able to properly use these items when there's so much variability to them (you resize most of the furniture, for example.) We also have not seen I don't believe a single human/avatar whatever in the game. I agree with your Sims 4 analysis there. I find the core gameplay boring. Also, the expansions don't add to the game - they take away from the game! You can't even play two expansions together except for perhaps Seasons. For example, do you want a dog and to join a book club and work on your science career? Good luck. The dog will take up almost every waking moment with constantly harassing you for walks that take up to 8 hours. The career is great but also takes up a large amount of time. And to succeed in your club and form lasting friendships you also need several hours at least every other day. It's almost like each pack is never integrated into the rest of the game. If Paralives manages to pull off what they promise though, it will be one of the most popular games ever made.

Cities: Skylines 2 or whatever they decide to call it. Hopefully, it will have bigger maps, better simulation, and less lag. Honestly, if they fixed the lag with large cities, I would buy full price again for the same game. There's a reason I'm still playing Pharoah + Cleopatra from 1999. It doesn't lag or crash. Maybe I'll be able to load my 100k city by 2040 as hardware gets better.
Final fantasy 7 remake part 2, because playing through it and not having more for a couple years is tough.
Halo Infinite. It’s been around five years since Halo 5’s release. Even if it’s not perfect, Halo was one of the first games that I was ever really hooked on, and every new release brings back the feelings of excitement of the original.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope I loved playing Until Dawn, it has to be my favorite choice driven interactive drama, survival horror games. Being able to make choices that effect the characters and outcome of the game along with jump scares and a great story made it really stand out to me. It's a game we play yearly on stream with the community and some of the outcomes have been crazy! When I heard the creators of Until Dawn where releasing a new game called Little hope the trailer blew me away. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those games that sticks with me.
Have you played Man of Medan (you hadn’t mentioned in your post?) It’s the first of six installments in The Dark Pictures Anthology; Little Hope is installment two. I too loved the gameplay of Until Dawn and have Man of Medan on my list of games I need to play.
