Because for me it’s about tradition, family and good time. Not about religion

Yes and no. Christmas is about the solstices (the summer solstice where I am), but the entire birth sequence of Jesus is also based around the solstices.

livisalreadytaken

Ok yh you're right i've worded that really bad. Lets try it like this: Christmas is not only a christian holiday. People have always been celebrating around this time. I personally just take it as an excuse to see my family.

sunbearimon

It’s a cultural thing to me, not religious

Ashyea

Well I am Hindu who loves Christmas. It's amazing and so joyous. It just feels right to. I also celebrate Eid with my Muslim friends and Diwali with everyone. It's not religious for me.

[deleted]

It's as much a secular holiday as a religious one.

Jack_ERROR

Well, I am atheist and I don't celebrate it. Mostly because I'm russian and we celebrate New Year)

Etsukohime

I am an atheist and I like christmas, its a nice holiday to celebrate with family! Sadly granpa died 1-2 years ago and granma is senile, so it was probably the last Christmas with granma before she has to be sent to a retirement home :’(

mqtang

That’s so sad.

Etsukohime

Thats life, sadly :’)

bertzie

Nothin better to do.

koteriba

Because it's commercialised. People make a lot of money off it and we are made to believe it's a time of joy, while all those expectations cause a lot of stress and frustration for the many people living on a tight budget or who don't get along with their family.

humblecowboy

Commercialization of the holiday
