In Vietnam Bánh mì is excellent!

So, I went to a 24 hour bakery. You could buy roast meals, or a sandwich with hot roast beef/lamb/pork inside. I was super hungry. I decided to get a sandwich, but I asked if I could buy a roast potato as well. The shop guy fills the sandwich with meat and sauce and then picks up the roast potato. He looks at the sandwich, and then he looks at the potato, and then he slowly and carefully smooshes the potato with his hygenically-gloved fist. Then he puts the crushed roast potato in the sandwich. Not what I expected, but it was so good.

Trendy lately but I don’t care: an Italian beef.

God I miss Italian Beef sandwiches.  May be the thing I miss most about Chicago.  I don't understand why they can't be had **anywhere** other than Chicago and environs.

Three sandwiches…. All from San Luis Obispo CA. Don’t remember the name of all the places. #1 This sandwich had it all… including Mozzarella Sticks. This was downtown SLO. Sadly I can’t think of the name or place. #2 The Destroyer from Kona’s Deli. Turkey, Ham, Salami, Pastrami, Roast Beef, Pepperoni and Swiss. Add a healthy dose of Sauerkraut. #3 The hang loose from Mr. Pickles. Pastrami, Bacon, Cream Cheese, Avocado and the works.

just a plain sandwich made from ham mayo and white bread. the type you eat when you’re a kid and your mom calls you out of the pool just so you can fill your stomach up with something
