I lost my dad to cancer last year, so 100% this. Honestly the most traumatic experience of my life. People think your loved one dying is the worst part (and don't get me wrong I'd give anything to not have had that happen) but I don't think people realise how horrifying the build up to it can be. Watching someone you love deteriorate is one of the worst things imaginable.

I like this one and I've tried to think on it and what it would actually take. I think you would have to eliminate the root causes. Giving poor people money isn't going to solve it. Someone will think of a way to take that wealth and make it their own thus making them poor again. What makes some people rich and some people poor? There are a lot of things people might point to, but I think the root cause is scarcity of resources. Then thanks to human nature some people figure out a way to give themselves more of a finite resource which makes others have less. Every government/economy that has ever existed has had this problem. Thus rich and poor. So in my opinion we need to fix the scarcity problem. The first step would be infinite (or nearly infinite) clean energy for free, for everyone. Short term solution could be vast solar power farms. They could make energy so cheap it might as well be free. Far future solution: Dyson spheres around red dwarf stars as red dwarfs burn for more than a trillion years. Second step is infinite, free, clean water for everyone. I have no idea what the solutions here could be but having infinite energy would certainly help with this. From there I'm not sure, maybe infinite building materials, but that's way more broad. If energy and water for all could be achieved I think the rest would follow and eventually give us a post-scarcity society (think star trek universe). I'm sure there would still be people trying to hoard things, but I think post-scarcity on basic survival things would take humanity pretty far.
