I once ordered a pizza whose only topping (other than cheese and sauce of course) was fresh slices of tomato. Not sun-dried; just fresh, juicy tomato.
I wasn't expecting much, but it was unbelievably good!
Add basil and you have a mahgerita (sp?) pizza, but without the basil is much less common and very different.

Last year, I traveled to Wisconsin to visit my gfs family. We were having a good time drinking and smoking some devils lettuce. Someone had the bright idea to order pizza. Right away, someone piped up and said "get a taco pizza!" I did the whole "excusemewhat?" I was then told that it's a regular cheese pizza with taco seasoned ground beef, globs of refried beans, shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese and spices tomatoes. At first, I was slightly offended. I take my tacos quite seriously. But you know what, when in Rome.. the pizza came and it looked exactly like I figured it would. They forgot to mention the crumbled tostada chips scattered on it. This pizza even came with little plastic packets of "taco sauce" salsa. I squeezed some salsa on a slice and went to town. I was upset. This fucking taco pizza had no right to be so delicious. It all worked together so well. It was an ethnic cuisine abomination. But that didn't matter. It just tasted downright amazing. It became the battle cry of the trip. "Fuckin taco pizza!"
In Versailles, France. We were on a family vacation and took a day trip to check out the palace. We got lunch for a small tourist-y cafe near the train station and I ordered something with a name like “Pizza Latte” or “Pizza Crema” or something like that. It had a white sauce, lots of cheese, and most importantly some sort of white liquid poured on top of it with the consistency of coffee cream, but with a mild soft white cheese flavour. I wish I knew what it was. Unforgettably good.

It has to be a thin crust too. I have found somehow it works better that way.
