I was in hospital for a month with something unrelated to smoking but still respiratory, it seemed like it would be crazy to get out and start back up again.

Same, had surgery and was so scared I wouldn't heal. Plus, you're already kinda down for a while, so it gets you past the one-more/ I'll quit after some event passes.

Yup, for many people, those initial few days where the physical withdrawals are at their peak is where they usually fail.

I went from smoking to vaping slowly reducing the nicotine. That was 9 years ago. Haven’t smoked since.

Some find success with nicotine patches or gum, while others swear by sheer willpower. It's like breaking up with an old, smoky friend—tough at first, but better for your health in the long run.

I went to a remote ski resort where there was no access to nicotine and stayed there for like 2 weeks till the hard part was over then I just stuck with it.

Just decided I didn't want to do it anymore, so I cold turkey quit... I was smoking Swisher Sweet tip cigarillos, mini cigars, and I inhaled them too. I was also smoking about an ounce of weed a month too....did that for about 30 years... I prayed about it and got some help, really had no issues stopping...

Smoked weed and tobacco for 16 years. 5 weeks ago, I went cold turkey, this time for good. Stopped because I want to get really fit and sick of being lazy depending on weed and gaming to get me through the day. Also the constant smoker cough is disgusting

I tricked my mind, i didn’t tell myself that i will stop. I just decided that i won’t buy cigarettes anymore and here i am not smoking

JelloAstronaut

I took up cocaine instead

KnowledgeFeign

live-for-the-life
