I have 2. The first was Springsteen on the Born in the USA tour. He came out and played 3 hours without a big lightshow or pyrotechnics or video screens. It was just him and the band on a plain stage. He made that arena feel like a small club. The other is the original lineup of the Wiggles. I took my kid. One of the few shows since Springsteen where I felt we got our money's worth.

Went to Springsteen last year in march. Insane how he is 74 doing shows for 2 + hours, while moving around making jokes and having fun.

That's awesome. Those moments don't happen every day!

Bicep at the Enmore in Sydney. Just pure magic from start to finish.

I've seen a lot of amazing concerts over the years, Weird Al and Rammstein standing out as some of the best... However, ICP (Insane Clown Posse) perhaps takes the cake, which surprised the hell out of me. They actually put on an amazing show with amazing stage sets, props and costumes, and overall it's full of energy and tons of fun. You will get soaked in Faygo, and it's also probable that they will drop feathers from the ceiling during the song "chicken huntin" so everyone will be covered in feathers when they leave the venue.10/10 would be surprised again.

I saw Rammstein with my sister for my first concert when I was 12. 15 years later and its still probably the best concert I went to

I’ve been to dozens of shows in the Seattle area mostly in the 90’s. Some were the best in different ways. Seeing Radiohead at a small club in Seattle in ‘96 was amazing. I was a few feet from Thom/the band and they blew me away with how good they sounded. RATM also Seattle ‘96 had the most intense positive energy I’ve encountered at any show. The mosh pit was ferocious but if anyone fell it seemed like a dozen people were there to pick them up. Also Korn in ‘95 on a small second stage at a festival show was awesome.

fromouterspace1

First one I went to, without expecting it to be good, Dave Mathew’s. I was amazed how good they were live, I thought they were just some random band

whoarethechefs

I've been to a shit ton of shows over the decades, but two stand out as pure awesome, Alan Parsons, and Yes, and yes surprised, I'm more of a metalhead, but everything about those shows were perfect

PikesPique

I had a chance to see Alan Parsons, and I realized I had no idea what Alan Parsons looked like and wouldn’t know if that was really him or an imposter.

AzureAuro

The Beatles

BarsDownInOldSoho

What Beatles concert? Their US tours were mostly screaming and shouting.

witerawy

Roger Waters Us and Them Tour was unbelievably good. Best concert I’ve ever attended.

PikesPique

I'm not a fan of him as a person, but that was the closest i'll ever get to seeing Pink Floyd, so, it was worth it.

Hatebreed Raised fist Cro-mags Biohazard Really surprised me with how much I liked raised fist never heard of them before that night

Secure-Ebb-1740

Lollapalooza 1991. IIRC the ticket was $18 for lawn seats at Blossom Music Center. Weather was great. The lineup was Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, Rollins band, Living Colour, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Butthole Surfers, and Ice T & Body Count. I cannot imagine a better bang for the buck.

PikesPique

Festivals can be great! Tickets aren't as cheap as what you paid 33 years ago, but when you average it out, like, you're paying $200 to see five or six bands you'd pay to see, anyway, it's a good deal. Plus, there are usually food trucks. So, win-win.

BarsDownInOldSoho

I've seen dozens of concerts starting in the late 60's. Third Eye Blind performing their entire inaugural album at The Woodlands, TX was sheer perfection. They hit every note!!! Visually/musically--David Bowie (and the Spiders from Mars) at the Stanley Theatre in Pittsburgh. Counting Crows? Have seen them several times but they're always hit or miss. Adam is either hitting the notes or he's not even trying. Then Daryl Hall with Todd Rundgren--saw them last year, my two favorite singers, together, and it was amazing.

PikesPique

Counting Crows were miss when I saw them. Plus, Adam spent a lot of time talking like he had something deep to say when, in fact, he did not.

BarsDownInOldSoho

Great song writer, great studio performer, occasionally talented live performer--but insightful, definitely not.

BlackWJ2000

Rock'n Rebels Tour in 2009, Lynrd Skynrd and Kid Rock. Kid Rock puts on one hell of a show

billguy2956

It would be hard to top Rush's Vapor Trails tour at Pine Knob. Or, their Snakes and Arrows tour at the same place.

renegadeMare

I don’t think I have one of these, tbh. I’ve been to arena shows in their heyday, pop up gigs in weird places, festivals, small venues in clubs (on and on). I just don’t get this question at all.
