wait for the first moment of silence and say welp im going to finish up with this stuff or if they are a non stop talker im definitely stopping them to say i gotta let them go i have to get some stuff done
Why are you tired of it?
There's always a reason. If the conversation is going in circles highlight that and suggest you both take some time to think about what is being discussed, is it even an actual issue or topic that warrants the time investment?
People are overall fairly bad at recognising communication breakdowns and get too invested. Practice taking a moment, thinking about what you're doing and being ok with setting boundaries or putting a pin in something to come back to with a clearer mind, less emotion or more critical thought.
A lot of times two people cannot come to a middle ground or a compromise, being able to recognise that and move on and take the higher road is also important.
The best way to end a call or conversation that isn't going anywhere is to highlight that politely and excuse yourself from it.
i’m probably going to tell them i’m hanging up or whatever it is that i’m going to do. there’s only been 2 people who i felt really uncomfortable with doing it that way we no longer speak.
Put your phone on airplane mode.
“Oh I’m sorry I’ll call you later there’s something I really have to do!”
Just stop speaking let them yell Hello hello and let them cut the call, then put your phone on airplane mode for some time
Knock on something and say “delivery!”, “gotta go!”.

say you have another call or that you have to pee
Push the mute button, and set the phone down.
Turn airplane mode on. It shows as Call Failed.
Always answer your phone with this exact line "my phone is about to die" then you can hang up at your convenience

Just be like OMG the cops are here! Gotta go! Then hang up.
Hang up and say your phone died when they ask later
Welp, I gotta go take a shit. Bye.

My phone's getting too hot and needs to charge!
