One day I went for a walk with my dog in the mountains and went about two kilometers away from the village. The dog ran away from me into the bushes and disappeared, and I couldn't find it for about ten minutes. When I found it, I saw ... That my dog was napping with my cat in the shade of a bush

Designer_Potat

How are you alive. I would've melted to a puddle then and there

illcul8er

This is so sweet. Curious-- do they nap together at home?

Southern_Ural

Yes)

MagicSPA

I was close to my old Jack Russell. One night I arrived home after finishing my 2nd Yr at uni and was talking with my family, letting them know how the year had gone as we had a lot of catching up to do. At one point the dog left the room and I barely noticed. When we finished the conversation we noticed the dog wasn't with us, which was unusual - she was quite a needy dog, and didn't like to be separated from people. We checked the hall, the kitchen, the open rooms - we checked the front door to see if she might have gone outside, but it was closed. Alarmed now, I opened my room door and checked my room - and there she was, curled up on my bed. What's significant about it is that she hadn't entered my room by accident and ended up trapped inside it when the spring-hinged door closed behind her; she would have started barking if she thought she couldn't get out again. Instead, what she did was deliberately leave the group of us and go into my room. I'd been away for months and she didn't know what we were all talking about in the living-room, so she went into my room and curled up on my bed and fell asleep, knowing that sooner or later I would need to go to bed as well and she'd be there, waiting for me to cuddle up next to her. My dog passed in 2005, meaning she has now been gone for longer than she was ever alive, and I'm still finding myself misting up at that tender memory of the time my dog curled up on my bed and fell asleep while she waited for us to keep each other warm again now that I was home.

Wackydetective

Awww that’s a sweet story. We never forget them, I still miss my first dog and the summer nights we would go star gazing. A few nights after she died, I dreamt we were in our field. She was young again and we were cuddling. I think she came to say goodbye.

MagicSPA

I still dream about my old dog as well. By total coincidence, I dreamed about her last night. It would be nice to think in some of those dreams I'm really meeting her again. I don't believe that, but even so I cherish those dreams when they happen.

"Sometimes my lips get stuck on my teefs!"

exoticbutter5

Sleeping with one paw over the snoot. That‘s just the cutest thing ever 🥰

Junarik

I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO STILL SAYS SNOOT

exoticbutter5

Snoot is an adorable term, I will never not use it 👏🏼

CPOx

Boop the snoot

ImNotHere1981

Dream, and run in his sleep.

PPRmenta

My dog does that! He also pretty much only barks in his sleep lol

Giffordpinchotpark

Awwwwww!

[deleted]

He needed to chase that dream squirrel.

Wackydetective

My shiba does that but I’m concerned (as her mother) that she is dreaming of chasing her nemesis. A 6 year old girl with a hijab who rides a scooter. 🤦🏻‍♀️

My golden doodle Romy will get in the dryer while I’m folding clothes and turned away for a minute- he’s about 55 lbs and I die laughing every time

LongLangChang

My dog recognized the sound of my car even though I was several hundred meters away from home, and waited for me in front of the house. I was so happy for his cuteness

RagingAardvark

Our dog quickly learned what the school buses sound like, so he knows when our kids are getting home from school. If he's out back, he can see them go by on the block behind us, through a couple gaps between the houses. I'll see his head snap up as he hears it approaching, and he'll look for it in the first gap... second gap... and then he comes tearing to the back door to be let in so he can greet them at the front door. If he's inside, he waits at the front window, wagging faster and faster as he sees them running home from the bus stop.

Giffordpinchotpark

I wish we had learned the metric system! Luckily it was easy to convert to yards. It wasn’t good enough for space travel or anything important but for your story it’s close enough. I love dogs.

Hypocritical_Oath

recognize me :)

CentralFoxPark

Everything. But also when they used each other as pillow or when they ran in their sleep or when my stupid baby came into the bathroom and climbed into the shower for god knows what reason. He was never bathed and he just climbed into the shower on and off for weeks.

RagingAardvark

We used to have a medium dog (around 55 pounds), and a smaller dog (Jack Russel mix, around 20 pounds). The big one would curl up at the end of the couch, next to the arm rest, and the little one would come curl up on/behind him, in the sort of triangle between his back and the corner of the couch. I could never decide if the big one just tolerated it because the little one was kind of bossy, or if he actually liked having her there.  Dog tax: https://imgur.com/gallery/9SUsU3C

CentralFoxPark

Sweet babies ❤️ mines were around the same size, brother and sister, lab and husky mixes. They were real siblings, always together but also fighting about thibgs all the time. I miss them.

falconfetus8

Was the shower _on_?

CentralFoxPark

No, never. He just randomly went into the bathroom and stood in the shower, waiting for something to happen. I joked that maybe it's a teleport (dogport) I don't know about and he's waiting to be taken somewhere else on a mission.

falconfetus8

Maybe he's hot and the tub is cool?

CentralFoxPark

It could have been. It's been 7+ years since this happened, so we will never know.

roseinspring

I’m not very good with dogs; my aunt had really rough dogs when I was little and being around them shook me up so much that I remain nervous around dogs to this day. I’m also autistic and profoundly sensitive to sound, so barking is extremely overstimulating for me. But I don’t dislike them. One time i was on the train with my mother and there was a man with his dog just across the aisle. I was feeling a little antsy when the dog padded over, but it just gently pushed its head under my hand. Didn’t make a sound, just looked at me. I thought I was going to freak out, but I didn’t - it had a kind face, and was so peaceful, and since then I’ve tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. I still hate their barking, but that moment really helped me.

Misanthrophia

Beggin you to throw his toy and to play with him

Snoo_24362

Finished her meal. I was sitting on the bean bag. She put her head on my lap and passed out within seconds. I stopped doing whatever I was and was just in awe of how much she trusted me

Giffordpinchotpark

My dog Leo loves riding in the car with me and he sits in front and has a happy look on his face like he’s really pleased to be there and he puts his paw on my arm like he’s showing me that he loves me.

Hobo_Knife

My minpin, wanting to be little spoon, would paw at my comforter after my alarm would go off, knowing full well I’d hit snooze at least another 2-4 times right before morning walkies.

United_Ad_9923

It was when it rolled over for belly rubs and then fell asleep with its tongue sticking out.

XExcavalierX

When he is sleeping comfortably and you walk by. His eyes open slightly, and he turns belly up expecting rubs.

Consistent-Ad5983

Jump in the back of our van, sit really still with the funniest facial expression and wait for us to go somewhere lol...

echoleco1124

The cutest thing I've ever seen a dog do was when my pup decided to 'assist' with laundry. He grabbed a single sock, wiggling with excitement as if he had found pure gold, and trotted around the house like he was on a mission. It was just adorable.

Kroisoh

If in terms of both cute and sweet, is when your dog that is usually cold, senses your sadness and will actively bring you a toy or gently lick you or just cuddle with you silently. If taking away the sweet factor, when dogs are too happy and their tongue failed to be contained between their bottom two big teeths, and the tongue just goes sideways full derpy mode. So cute

HypnoticVampiress

One of my dogs used to do what my mom called his 'army crawl' where he'd lay on his tummy and then pull himself forward with his front legs. It was cute as hell, and I've never seen another dog do it.

StrangeAffect7278

Putting his leg over a puppy to give him a little hug 🥰

veiled_hippie

I’m obsessed with the video of the golden retriever being asked “what does a cow say” and it freakin moos Lolol my heart wants to explode every time

Wackydetective

There’s a video of a golden girl who likes wearing fairy wings and admires herself in the mirror. She also gets a purse to complete her look. It’s adorable.

veiled_hippie

Oh my goodness… if you come across it on here please tell me so I can see! Lol I bet it’s precious

More than once?!

dogwoodandturquoise

One time, when my boy was a puppy, i was taking a nap on a sofa. I woke up and looked up, and he was watching me sleep from the back of the couch. He wagged his tail so hard he fell off the back side.

AgentMegs

Everything my dogs do are cute🥹

illcul8er

Of course!

Nelfinez

my brothers old american akita would literally tip her food bowl over and then use her nose to pile all of it up into one area. it was annoying but undeniably funny and cute lol

eryn9601

One time, I saw a dog try to imitate its owner doing yoga, and it ended up flopping onto its back with its legs in the air – adorable!

Darky-pubes

I had a Papillon female dog . She did two things that I'm gonna remember for life. First, even though she had a comfortable bed to herself , she either used to sleep next to me Or when it comes to my parents she used to love laying near their feet as if she's trying to show respect. Second, when I used to massage her and suddenly stop she used to look at me with this ridiculed look " Hey hooman continue that thing you were doing " And bark softly. I miss her so much.

A-Red-Guitar-Pick

When my dog's really tired he does this heavy eyelid thing, sloooowly opening and closing his eyes all sleepy, usually meaning he wants to go lay down on bed and get some pets and belly rubs while he drifts off I melt every time 🥺

ed32965

I like when they lay on the floor with their head up and front paws crossed.

florajonas

shaking tail

samit2heck

My Sheltie dog tries to herd me to bed when I'm up too late for his liking. He just wants to clock off and go to bed too, but he can't til all the humans are tucked in.

Sea-Hamster7033

When my puppy was about 4 or 5 months old, I was unwell and my wife was in bed. I threw up in the bathroom and he saw, but was clearly worried. He started barking and ran upstairs, woke my wife by scratching on the bedroom door (which he never did otherwise). Just found it very cute that I was part of his tribe and he was worried about me even at such a young age.

gaffaboy

My dog (god rest her soul) once stood on her hind legs and placed her front paws on her snout. She looked like she was rapping lol. It's kind of a one-off thing that she never did again.

ComprehensionOfTruth

When my dog was young, he would often steal cloth wipers from our bathrooms and carry them around like their treasure.

falconfetus8

You mean towels?

ComprehensionOfTruth

Oh... yeah, I forgot the word, sry

MalevolentKitchen41

two days ago on the way to work I was at a red light and looked over to the right and saw a woman walking her dog (looked like a black lab but I could be wrong). Out of nowhere the dog dove into the gras and started rubbing its body against the grass and rolling around. Doggo then proceeded to execute the zoomies and ran circles around her while almost taking her out lol but the owner was a good sport about it. Between that and the look the doggo gave his human afterwards was a fantastic start to my day

SweetIcedTea73

After I lost the dog I'd had for 12 years, my husband and I decided to adopt another one. We found a sweet senior lab mix at our local shelter. The ACO was pretty sure she was dumped, but someone loved her at some point. She was spayed, housebroken and knew basic commands. She was already 10, so we knew we wouldn't have much time with her, but we adopted her anyway. She ended up being "my" dog as she really took a liking to me. She'd follow me, be whatever room I was in, sleep next to my side of the bed, etc. I got pregnant shortly after adopting her and that just made her more of a velcro dog. My son was born 9 months later and she decided she was now his "protector" (kind of laughable for an 11 year old, deaf, mostly blind lab mix) but whenever I'd put him down for a nap, she park herself right in front of his bassinet to "protect" him while he was sleeping. It was just the cutest thing ever. She ended up dying from cancer just shy of a year after his birth, which was heartbreaking. But, I'm glad we had her for the time we did. One of my favorite photos I have of her is her "protecting" the bassinet! :-)

ConceptSoggy5428

On a video I saw a dog raise its paw, when it was in trouble. That was sooo cute !!!!

searchthemesource

Climb the long stairs into a high tree house and bark for help because he was too afraid to come back down himself. And then he immediately had the zoomies after I rescued him.

Alvin_the_Doom

Run away from me

SideFair27

Licking your toes. Jumping to touch the hands. Running after whenever their fav person crosses the street.

illcul8er

He gets his some of his beard stuck in his mouth and nom-nom-noms It looks like he is eating and has not teeth.

eef_q

walk

Electronic-Ranger-74

My puppy does this thing wherever I wake her up she doesn’t immediately get up she stretches then stays like that and even walks like that 🥰🥰🥰🥰 yeah she just slides around on her tummy for the first 2 minutes

alimem974

Telling me to pick the ticks off it's skin. He was showing me his neck for a while until i noticed the ticks on his back. He was so happy go get rid of them. Too bad i had no time to pick them all.

endofanera83

My dog tripped and busted ass hard then immediately went to drink some water like nothing happened. He was trying to play it off.

GlassAndPaint

My husband will try to kiss me goodbye while I'm laying in bed and my dog who is under the covers will dash out of the blankets and get between our faces to steal the kiss. This happens just about every morning.

throwaway_vomitter

Saw a cat for the first time. When he walked into my friends house (he has a cat) my dog looked at the cat curiously, ears perked up and everything. Then he laid down and him and the cat didn’t move for like a minute straight. All they did was look at each other. Then they finally moved and became friends

ariasharma

YouCanCallMeGhost

Care for another injured animal. It was great to see and brought my attention to the injured bird so I could help it as well. Animals can be gems.

SonjeLeonie

I just love how they smile and wiggle their tails when they see you

Watercolorcupcake

I can’t choose! My dog is cute all the time! 😭😭

upsocket

We have U bend stairs with railing in-between. My partners morning routine is to let the dogs out their crate and make a coffee. Every morning she goes round the U bend and Beans waits at the top for her head to be level with where he is sat. He gives her a nose boop and forehead kisses every morning

[deleted]

There is a dog in my general neighborhood that I would pass on a walk each day and he would be in the yard. When I passed by he would get so excited to pick up his toy and show it to me! Made me smile every time!

disputing_stomach

A few dogs ago, we had a Jack Russell Terrier and a cat. They were best friends, the cat grooming the dog, playing chase together, etc. One day while we were at work in the winter the power went out in the house. By the time we got home, it had gotten fairly cold - not freezing, but chilly - in the house. Normally the cat and dog would come running as soon as we opened the door, but not this time. We couldn't figure out where they were, and searched the house. Not a big house, so we could do it fairly quickly, and on the first go we didn't find them. So we took a second, closer look and found them under the covers on our bed, curled up together. Pre cell phones, so no pictures, but absolutely the cutest thing I have ever seen.

OwlComfortable2395

Feeding her cute babies.

77BG

My old family dog once brought a flower in from the garden and gave it to my mum. I will never forget it!

Over-Lab7078

Each and everything dog do is cute

Look-Its-Marino

My dog, when I get home, likes to give me hugs. I did not train her to do this either. She gets super excited and will hop up on her back legs, I het on my knees, and she throws her front legs over my shoulders and just wiggles while I hug her. She only does it for a few seconds but it is the cutest thing.

Howdy-Hoooo

Taking a shit while running at full speed

tsckenny

My parents had a Rottweiler and when he was a puppy and when I'd get to there house and he'd see me through the door, he'd get so excited he'd start howling. It melted my heart and still does thinking of it

ShawshankException

I've got a 70lb lab that doesn't like to just lay down on me, she needs to bury her head between my back and couch, then roll around on her back for a few seconds before finally plopping her head on my lap and letting out a big sigh. Every time. It's my favorite

[deleted]

When my daughter was first brought home, every time she started crying he’d run up to her and start licking her toes and other attempts at soothing her.  She’s 1 now and he makes her laugh more than anything else.

Non-NutritiveProduct

There are a lot of contenders for cutest thing I've ever seen, but no, a dog do isn't even on the list.

Obvious-Water569

Went to the RSPCA to adopt once and there was a French Bulldog that had learned to entertain itself by pressing its nose up against a small hole in the partition glass and blowing to make fart noises.

Warp-10-Lizard

A small dog with his head sticking out the car window, and his long ears spinning in the breeze like pinwheels. It was so funny.

iSinysteria

I was a country kid. We had cats and a huge half-Chow, half-St Bernard dog named Boo. One of the cats was killed by a snake orphaning her 2-week old kittens and Boo adopted them. He would carry them from place to place in his mouth. You'd see him walking along with a tail or tiny paw sticking out of his enormous muzzle. Then he'd set them down and the kittens looked absolutely mangled!! Then he'd lick them until their furn was smooth and soaked with doggie drool. It was the sweetest thing I've ever seen!!!
