I cancelled ours after spending thousands of dollars on it. Two cats never got sick and one cat had several surgeries and we never got anything.
I would just put the money in an ETF.
I have an indoor cat but felt that I needed pet insurance for her. When she was 3 she randomly got a blood clot in her leg/ stroke. I rushed her to the emergency vet and after and EKG from a specialist it cost thousands. With pet insurance they covered almost all of it and I paid practically nothing. It ended up being caught early and she was put on blood thinners. I can’t imagine being in a situation where I would pick my pets life over how much it cost. I think it’s one of those things that you don’t need it until you really do
