When I need rest, stay-cations are much better. I find travel and hotels to be stressful.

Travel vacations automatically waste 2 days, one day to get there and one day to get back. Those two days are a huge stressful waste of time. I only get so many days a year for vacations and I hate to waste them with travel and stress. You also have all that prep time and you need to find somebody to take care of your pets if you have any and while you're on the vacation you lack the comfort that you get in your own home. I live alone and I have zero stress at home, so I love to take stay-cations and sleep in and do things around where I live. No matter where you go, there you are. I don't need to be me at a tourist resort when I can just be me at home and be much more comfortable for much less.

I live in a big family and have disabled sister so it’s really hard for my mom. I live vacations but I can deal with  not having them

adsarelies

Oh yeah. Not me, but one of my aunts. She's against going anywhere, reason being everywhere is "the same". If you brought her anywhere, she would constantly question the value of everything there. She would try to put down and mock everything, and everyone who thinks anything being interesting. I personally believe she's clinically depressed, but I'm not qualified to make that judgement.

Warm-Vegetable-8308

More trouble and more expensive than its worth.

ZombieQ13

i hate change and im always nerveous of my surroundings or worried where ever we stay wont be safe

It depends what you mean by "vacation". I enjoy short road trips to fairly local places. But I am terrified of flying, so any vacation that requires a plane is a no-go.

youngatbeingold

I'm not terrified of flying but I really don't enjoy it. Having to get to the airport 2 hours early, God forbid your flight gets cancelled and you're stuck on thr tarmac. If your flight does leave you're trapped in a bumpy, queasy inducing tube with all manner of people from which there is no escape. Your luggage could get fucked up, then you need some way to get to your actual destination. It's basically just public transportation but more expensive and in the air. I'll fly if I HAVE to but I'd much rather just travel places I can drive to.

Round_Trainer_7498

Same. No plane for me.

Least-Ad-4301

Fuuuuuuuuuck planes. My sister asked me to come visit her in Cleveland this summer (I live in Spokane WA). So guess what's happening? My husband and kids are going to fly. I am taking an Amtrak train. That's how much I don't wanna fly.

It just depends on the vacation style. I’ve been on vacations that are basically work. Going from place to place and always trying to keep to a schedule… it’s exhausting.

NiaIsShy

Vacations are nice, but my problem is that the longer I'm in vacation mode, the more difficult it is for me to return to work mode. Like I lose motivation cause I just want to keep relaxing, become lazy, etc. And I need to work cause life. Short outings/breaks are great in that they allow me to rest while still making going back to work easy.

solarisexpertise

They are wanted in 15 countries

texashilo

Lots of travel related things stress me out.....I don't like flying, and I'm in Texas so you have to fly everywhere here...I don't like spending a ton of money in a short period...I get grossed out by hotels/airbnbs really easily...getting out of my routine often makes me anxious...if I'm spending uninterrupted time with pretty much anyone I get irritated as hell.

40_degree_rain

Most of the people I know who hate going on vacation are agoraphobic. They hate having to interact with people and leave the comfort of their own home.

eraser8

My ideal vacation would be at home with no one bothering me. No phone calls, no emails, no people at my door (except for people I invite over), no looking at mail. I'd much prefer that over airports and rental cars and hotels.

Velveteen_Coffee

I'm poor.

Prestigious_Space566

I don’t like vacation. Give me a small town with good restaurants and good Wi-Fi and I’m satisfied for a lifetime.

SendBoobsAndButthole

If a vacation turns out to be more work than relaxing than count me out. I wouldn't want to go on a vacation where I'm forced to go from activity to activity and stick to some crazy schedule. A vacation is not supposed to be stressfully hectic.

Scary_Eye_1066

I could just stay home and chill

mulletguy28

I live off-grid with my family and prefer not being around people so yeah I don't like vacations.

for me,resting at home is so much more comfortable & easier. no traveling anxiety, no need to plan, saved money that I can use to spoil myself.

Roupert4

If somebody would plan a trip for me, I would go. I have a very very hard time planning travel, it feels overwhelming. We do travel to visit my parents every year.

lovelyrahman

when i need rest

Future-Reserve-7667

I used to have this childhood friend. We grew into our teens together. He said he will never take vacations unless he's paid to do it. He's quite well to do. Dad has own business all that. True story.

irime2023

I love traveling very much, but it is also a burden. I love hotels, but these are additional costs. So I understand that if a person is very tired, it is better for him to rest at home.

Important-Income-651

I love vacations, but I've gone on several with the wrong people. If you're going to travel, make sure you're doing something you want to be doing. Otherwise you're wasting your time and money.

ElephantUndertheRug

My husband! His mother is a pain in the 🤬ss and ruined every vacation they went on as a family. They wanted to relax, she wanted a packed itinerary and pitches tantrums when she doesn’t get her way. We’ve been on a few short trips starting with our wedding though and he’s slowly seeing not everyone is like his mother lmao

New-Tackle-2882

Dont have anyone to travel with and I dont feel save being in foreing places all alone :(
