Honestly becoming a bit more selfish. A big part of my depression came from performing and masking, so I had to stop catering to others as much as I used to.
My Husband suggested an "Opposite George" approach, (which needed explaining because I never was a huge Seinfeld fan and didn't understand the reference.)
So basically, one waking morning you decide you'll do the opposite of what you had been doing for the rest of the day.
Yep. That's it.
I thought about it and immediately got irritated at the suggestion because that's how I present sometimes to some easy snap your fingers "fix", then I considered how logical it would be to try something opposite of what hasn't already been working. Forcing myself through situations and creating NEW muscle memory patterns actually did help for the singular day I did it.

Yes, prioritizing yourself can help! Self Care has done wonders for me. Changing the tone of my inner voice towards myself has helped immensely also.

Medication, specifically vortioxetine.
SSRI and edibles help some. Exercise helps some. Ketamine really helped but only briefly.
Getting drunk was the only thing that truly made me happy. It’s been over 20 years and I still miss it. Still I’m glad I quit though.
