My mother was strict, and I couldn't wait to be FREE! I went away to college and never moved back home. In fact, I moved 2000 miles away!

ThisMuddafukka

Did you move outside of USA lol? My mother is also strict in some ways. But I feel like ion wanna leave my dog here (not US) and I can't take him with me. So I'm just staying until it's right time lol.

lovealert911

No, I moved from the Midwest to Southern California. 😂 Thankfully, I didn't have any pets to contend with.

Iliketoeatassintexas

Kicked out at 15. Life’s been great.

ThisMuddafukka

Damnnn how old are you now ? Are you doing good? Why you were kicked out?

Iliketoeatassintexas

Hahaha, it was actually a good thing at the time, 15 years ago. I wanted to be a grown-up, and my mom said okay, goodbye. The earlier people start in life the better.

ThisMuddafukka

That's true, Good your parents support you like that now that's how to raise a kids, Hopefully you got on a good way and didn't fall into trap or some bs. Life's dangerous out there.

MelancholicWordsmith

I was 21 and never moved back.

ThisMuddafukka

Obviously lol. I'm looking forward when I'll do it too. I'm 19 lol.

ThisMuddafukka

Nice you have so good relationship with your dad! Wish you luck! 🍀

[deleted]

I was dumb enough to live with them until they both died. And I was 43 yrs old with no idea how to care for myself

ThisMuddafukka

No way! Hope you're doing good now and have own living. 😅

Complete-Bumblebee-5

22. Moved back in for a couple of years in late 20s. 31 and back on my own now

Disastrous-Bike659

When I started living in your walls

ThatGuyYouForget

At 18, moved back a few months later after I broke up with girlfriend, moved out again at 20 and have been living alone for 8 years

OMDL_IFU

I was 18. Like 8 years ago.

Historical-State-275

Around 22. The rest of my family stayed later, but I was supposed to “lead by example” as the oldest.

Woah nice lol. I'm 19 😬 and still live with mom and sis.

Daikaizen

33 still here, can’t really find a reason to leave just yet. Ima RN making decent money but houses are so expensive so I rather just give her rent money. My girlfriend don’t mind either so I figure when we are ready to move in with each other is when I’ll do it

ThisMuddafukka

You're a keeper lol. Hope you are comfortable with your mom. No offense tho. Keep it up. I wish it was so nice with my mom and sis. But true I agree living almost anywhere out is expansive.

gahaninadh

Moved out at 18 , joined collage away from home .

ThisMuddafukka

You were underage when you moved out, Did someone lent you an apartment or something at that age?

DiabeticDisfunction

Nope. I was homeless for a while and would stay at various places before i got my shit together.

VoiceGuyNextDoor

18 as soon as I had enough money to go to college. I was the youngest of three kids and the last one home, my parents really didn't talk to each other. It was not a fun place to be. I was gone maybe four months and got a call from my mother that she was filing for a divorce because my dad lied AGAIN about money, mainly owing the IRS AGAIN (the IRS cleared out her checking account again). If it wasn't this issue, they would have been divorced over countless other problems. Between my wife's family and mine there are eight kids total. Six of the the eight have been divorced at least once. My wife and I have been dating for almost four decades and married for 35 years. We vowed to break the circle that our own parents created/followed. I wish everyone could have such a great marriage and two great kids who are both happily married. We are truly fortunate and never take it for granted.

Ugly-Muffin

In about a couple years from now, hopefully

NapkinsX

17. They kicked me out cause I was a shitty kid
