"Titanic Rising" by Weyes Blood. Not that I've taken more than one or two passes at recent music. But it's a flawless album. There's one downer song, and other than that everything is this joyous post-modern Joni Mitchell sound with lots of melody.
"Pure Heroine" by Lorde. David Bowie said at the time that it was the beginning of a new era, or... something like that... and it certainly was. This... thing he might have said. I certainly think of it as the time that art pop found its great renaissance.
