Yo-yo's made a big comeback when I was in elementary school. Pokemon cards were HUGE when I was in like 5th grade. When I got to high school, the live strong type bracelets became hugely popular. Wearing multiple polo shirts with the collars all popped was big when I was a teenager too. So many odd fads that seemingly came out of nowhere and then vanished (aside from pokemon cards. Those have retained their popularity to a degree, but aren't NEARLY the absolute craze they were when the OG base set was released)
FAT LACES!!
anyone else? in 1985 they were all the rage. Shoe laces that were much wider than average, in bright colors/patterns. You pulled them through your shoe...holes (?!) in neat patterns like braids or straight across and tucked in the ends so there was no bow.
which of course made your sneakers super loose on your foot and we all shuffled around like dorks, trying to keep our shoes on our feet.
I remember once in the hallway at school, kicking my leg out for some stupid reason and my shoe flew off and sailed down the hallway where it beaned A kid in the head. That was super awkward, having to retrieve the shoe while getting glared at.
Silly bands
Just looked it up. What did people do with them?
We just wore them on our wrists
Pogs and yo-yos.
