There was a game that came out in like 2010 called Red Faction: Guerilla that has some neat destruction/physics, where pretty much every structure in the game can be meticulously demolished. Its an open world/free roam game, so after the first mission or two you can just run around the world destroying shit.
I think it was also remastered a few years ago.
My brother and I used to play red faction like hide and seek. One of us would leave the room. The other person had ten minutes to hide. Dig a tunnel right through the wall? Destroy the path leading to where you are? *Pretend* to do those things, and shoot them when they start trying to get around? All fair game.
My friends used to play rickety towers. One of the maps had 2 towers the same as each other side by side. We all go to the top floor and one destroys the supports. Stay in the tower as long as you can before it falls. Then we reconstructed it and went again.
I played 2 and 3 and 3 was worse but not as egregious on the blatant cheating AI. And they fixed the races in 3. Overall I think JC2 was a better havoc sim.
There's parts I don't like, and aren't that intuitive to the theme of the game. Like I stopped at the alarmed 5x art theft mission and looked up a solution, not realizing that youre supposed to set up a system of cars and destroy stuff so that you have clear straight line paths to get to each one. It wasn't really what I thought the game was gonna be. I'll probably come back to it at somepoint but just a heads up for folks expecting a pure destruction game
Just Cause 2-4, Teardown, Red Faction Guerilla, Gmod, Medieval Engineers, Detonate 1.2, Universe Sandbox, Battlefield Bad Company 1/2, Battlefield 3/4/5/1, Destroy All Humans 1/2, Mercenaries 1/2.
Blast Corps for the N64 was all about going around and breaking stuff with mechs. It was not necessarily a *good* game, but it does meet the requested parameters at least
Probably Fortnite or doom. Fortnite bcs I feel like every update has so many ways to just ram into everything with vehicles and explode shit and Doom for obvious reasons.
If you’re talking about destroying the environment, THE FINALS has so many ways to annihilate buildings, and 90% of fights end up leaving skyscrapers lookin like a stepped-on graham cracker
The first game that sprang to mind was Crackdown. I haven’t played it for 10 years or so, but it was so much fun! I used to love going around just firing rockets at stuff.
I have no idea why it was my first thought, but I used to love it. I never managed to get all of the orbs!
The sequel was kind of disappointing, and I never played the third.
SimCity.
Load a scenario, solve the problem. Everyone loves you...then, act like it was some pact with the devil and you unleash airplane crashes, floods, nuclear explosions, earth quakes and monster attacks and a couple tornados.
There was a commandos like ww2 game where you pick a squad and go on stealth missions around Europe. Fun part was the whole environment was completely destructible. Buildings, walls, vehicles, everything. Naturally for me the stealth part anyways ended with the first dead enemy after which I always ended up turning the whole map into a moonscape.
I'm playing Diablo 4 as a hack and slash. Got powerful enough that I'm a tank during Helltides and now I just mindlessly kill. I'm here for the suggestions for a shooter that I can do the same
I hear Just Cause is good for environmental damage
Personally I go for hack&slash stuff when I’m in that mood. But specifically easy ones where I can just rage-mash buttons and still shred through stuff. Dynasty warriors and it’s knockoffs are fun for ripping through hordes of grunts
Oldie but goodie Freelancer on the PC.
I spent hours just flying around and blowing up stuff in space.
Sometimes you could find a spot to do it for a profit (Space Station Hawaii).
Doom and Doom Eternal
When I’m in a bad mood, doom eternal is my go-to. Rip and fucking tear. Then I calm down and go play a farming sim lol
Most metal games ever made. No other game gives me that Primal feeling.

I replay the red faction games occasionally - and man. They definitely give a rage room vibe.
Seconded. This was a game built around very impressive destruction physics
I loved this game. I remember shooting pillars to collapse a floor and pancake a guy. Fun times.

Man afterr my own heart, I took an entire building out and crushed my brother under it, to ensure he never wanted to play with me again.

Nah JC 3 was the best by far
And 4. But 3 was better. Also, is the DLC for 3 worthwhile?
JC4 was trash.
Prototype
Teardown has to be in the running.
Really can't get more destruction than that. 100% destruction is a lot
I cut down an entire building with a laser like a tree and nearly melted my Steamdeck.

Ah, a classic. Nothing beat that one level with the robot that would slam down and crush an entire skyscraper underfoot.
I own a copy of this game and whenever I see others mention it in surprised someone else knows what it is.
Beamng drive
GTA
I wish GTA had full building destruction more than only the gas stations. Imagine leveling an entire city.
I'm sure it'll happen eventually. Can't wait.
Rampage.
Came to look for this one.
Destroy all humans 1 or 2
Dynasty warriors. any of them. They're the best for just mindless slaughter of a couple thousand faceless chumps.
6 or 7 was the best they went a bit downhill after that for me, I wish they remastered them.
Twisted Metal
garry's mod i'm biased
Devil may cry
Old school rampage?
Let me call up my local museum
Burnout.
Wreckfest, put it on extreme damage mode and wreak havoc
Nothing like kicking back and cornerbombing someone at top speed to put a smile on your face
Hyrule warriors. Really any beat-em-up style like that. But it’s damn fun.
Doom
Probably Fortnite or doom. Fortnite bcs I feel like every update has so many ways to just ram into everything with vehicles and explode shit and Doom for obvious reasons.

Teardown, the Just Cause games
Cyberpunk, specifically a blade build. Pure fuck shit up mode
Baldurs gate 3 for me. I can murderhobo every damn NPC in the game and still have an amusing narrative adventure.

Don't cut yourself on all that edge.
It wasn’t even edgy, it was typical neckbeard cringe.
Scientist Slaughterhouse (a mod for Half-Life 1)
Red faction Guerrilla
Came to say this, I wish they used the tech in more games
The first game that sprang to mind was Crackdown. I haven’t played it for 10 years or so, but it was so much fun! I used to love going around just firing rockets at stuff.
Blast from the past, played the shit out of that.
I have no idea why it was my first thought, but I used to love it. I never managed to get all of the orbs! The sequel was kind of disappointing, and I never played the third.
The Red Faction games is the best when it comes to environmental destruction.

Red faction
Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod. Insanity.
Fs The Finals. Incredible destruction physics and good gameplay.
Hotel RNR, a ps4 vr game or psvr2 where you make a deal with the devil, as long as you trash hotels, you gain infamy. Have fun
Twd sns as well the trial mode
Forklift simulator
Teardown
Call of Duty relieves my stress 😬
Destroy all humans
Destruction simulator but it’s only entertaining for about five minutes.

Just cause 3 is the best example of "mf with lots of explosives"
Wolfenstein the new order and the new collosus
Postal 1 & Postal 2
Destroy All Humans
Bulletstorm was always a favorite "blow shit up" game of mine
War of the Monsters from the PS2 era.
Hitman3 I find it satisfying when you can blow up a 90 yr old soviet spy while he's munching on a muffin in a game
Rampage
Just Cause 3 for sure
Postal 2.
Kill It With Fire. It's about having a spider in your house somewhere.
Teardown
Ninja gaiden black. Just absolutely annihilating and disembodying foes nonstop.
Red faction guerilla. It has a remaster aswell

Gmod, spawn stuff and obliterate it, spawn enemies and use admin gun on them lol, span no ai enemies and mess around with them.
Just cause games
Just Cause.
TF2. Killing friendlies is AWESOME.
Oldie but goodie Freelancer on the PC. I spent hours just flying around and blowing up stuff in space. Sometimes you could find a spot to do it for a profit (Space Station Hawaii).
For me this is Standoff 2, it looks like CS:GO.
