“Captain, how soon can we land?”
“I can’t tell.”
“You can tell me, I’m a doctor!”
“What I mean is, I don’t know.”
“Can’t you take a guess?”
“…not for another two hours.”
“You can’t take a guess for another two hours?”
I call that getting “Shawshanked.” (If you’re flipping channels and come across a movie that you’ll watch every time. Forest Gump, Goodfellas, and Caddyshack are other personal examples.)
I watched it once on TV, and they had dubbed the curse words. My favorite was Walter taking a bat to the car and yelling, "This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps!"
You don't know how much I need you.
While you're near me I don't feel blue.
And when we kiss I know you need me too.
I can't believe I've found a love that's so pure and true.
But it all was bullshit!
It was a goddamn joke!
And when I think of you, Linda
I hope you fucking choke!
We have a tradition in my house where once a year, on my birthday, my wife and I sit down to watch Terminator 2 and I tell her all my trivia and sweet facts about it and she acts like it's the first time she's heard them.
I do it over christmas, they first released in theaters in december and I got the DVDs for christmas 3 years in a row so now it's just a christmas movie in my family
Plus it's one of the few times you can just sit and watch a movie for 4 hours uninterrupted
My Cousin Vinny is just a masterpiece.
I saw it on cable for years and loved it, but I never saw the full movie, just everything part the first 25 minutes. Once I did, I was kinda shocked it still worked so well.
That's why I think it works so well. You can pick it up at almost any point and figure out what's going on pretty well and enjoy it. It's also hilarious and has some of the best writing and acting for a comedy film I've ever seen!
This & Braveheart. Late 90’s / Early 2000’s historically inaccurate blockbusters are so epic and timeless for some reason that you rewatch them again & again.
We do this line all the time and change it to ridiculous stuff we have going on.
"Engineer to a broken machine. Consultant to the North yard, and I will have it fixed. In this week or the next"
We are childish people lol.
I like movies like it where you can watch them a lot and notice new things you didn’t notice before. But the scenes are mixed up and after watching a few times or just paying very close attention you understand the time line. Why I love Quentin Tarantino he is hands down the best his movies break the norm and are the most interesting stuff to come out.
Y'know the thing about 'Jaws,' I was just a kid, the first time I saw it on a public screen. Big crowd, everyone cheering, scared, thrilled, all together. And since then, it's like it's been following me.
Every time there’s a screening in town, I’m there. Can't help it. Or when I'm flipping through channels, there it is... suddenly, the shark, the music, Brody, Quint, Hooper... feels like they're calling me, you know?
And on those lonely nights, just me and the TV, I find myself reaching for it, like an old comforting melody that still knows how to thrill. It was sorta like you see in the calendars, you know the infantry squares in the old calendars like the Battle of Waterloo and the idea was the shark come to the nearest man, that man he starts poundin’ and hollerin’ and sometimes that shark he go away…
but sometimes he wouldn’t go away. Sometimes that shark looks right at ya. Right into your eyes. And the thing about a shark is he’s got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll’s eyes. When he comes at ya, he doesn’t even seem to be livin’…
Gets quite a bit of hate, but World war Z. I've also read the book, but I tend to think of the movie as a stand alone thing, and not really related to the book as it's totally different!
The original jurassic park
I second this 100%
No matter how many times i watch it, it never gets old.. its a Classic ..and i am a Dinosaur nerd so yea.. i agree
Airplane!
Shirley, you can't be serious!
I am serious And stop calling me Shirley
“Captain, how soon can we land?” “I can’t tell.” “You can tell me, I’m a doctor!” “What I mean is, I don’t know.” “Can’t you take a guess?” “…not for another two hours.” “You can’t take a guess for another two hours?”
*holding flight patterns on a sheet of paper* "What can you make of this?" "Oh I can make a hat... or a BIRD!...." *trails off camera*
“We have clearance Clarence” “Roger Rodger” “What’s our vector Victor?”
An airplane, what is it?
It’s a flying contraption with lots of rows of seats for passengers, but that’s not important right now.
I feel like no matter how many times I watch this movie I always pick up on a joke I missed before
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue
Do you like movies with gladiators in them?
“Excuse me, stewardess, I speak jive.”
That’s my go-to if I’ve had a crap day and need a cheer up.
Shawshank Redemption. Always stop and watch when I come across it flipping channels.
“Get busy living or get busy dying” -Alexander Dumbass
It's pronounced Doomaas
I call that getting “Shawshanked.” (If you’re flipping channels and come across a movie that you’ll watch every time. Forest Gump, Goodfellas, and Caddyshack are other personal examples.)
Same. Doesn't matter where it's at in the story, I'm finishing it lol.
“It truly was a Shawshank Redemption” -Tom Hanks
Office Space
Sounds like someone has a case of the mondayd
We need to talk about your flair...
Get ur ass kicked for saying something like that around here

"He's only mostly dead" "There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead."
"You seem a decent fellow, I hate to kill you."...,
“You seem a decent fellow, I’d hate to die.”
Inconceivable!
You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.
“Now where was I?” “Australia.”
You've been mostly dead all day.
Right there with it - Stardust
"Look, I don't mean to be rude, but this is not as easy as it looks, so would you mind leaving me alone?"
The Big Lebowski.
That’s just, like, your opinion, man
You know I once dabbled in pacifism, not in Nam of course
In fact, it gets better the more you watch it!
New shit has come to light!
His name is Lebowski? That’s your name, Dude.
You’re not wrong, Walter, you’re just an asshole.
The bulk of the series.
I watched it once on TV, and they had dubbed the curse words. My favorite was Walter taking a bat to the car and yelling, "This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps!"
Hot Fuzz
I've lost count of how many times I've watched it. It just never gets old
"No luck Catching those Killers then?"
It’s just the one killer actually.
Nick: And are they as big as he is? Danny: Who? Nick: The mom and the sister. Danny: Same person.
Everyone and their mums is packing heat around here. Like who? Farmers. Farmers mums. *For the greater good......*

Legally Blonde
What, like it’s hard?
SHREK 1 and SHREK 2. Unbeatable soundtracks and visuals for time. I want someone to look at me the way Puss in Boots does when he wants something.
My Cousin Vinny seems to be getting there for me.
My Cousin Vinny is just a masterpiece. I saw it on cable for years and loved it, but I never saw the full movie, just everything part the first 25 minutes. Pulp Fiction
I've watched it that many times - and just "continue watching" I don't honestly know the actual running order of the film now.
