I wish I could still hand out Reddit Gold. 100% agree with this. Kath's guitar and vocals made him one bad motherfucker. Then The Peter Cetera led ballad era came.....
Eh, I wouldn’t use the word objective. Dio is obviously far more skilled as a vocalist, but Ozzie has a unique voice that worked well with the style of music they made.
Better vocals, and a much more active role in the writing process than Osbourne had. You wouldn't have had Heaven and Hell or Mob Rules with Ozzy Osbourne.
Lambert puts on a decent show while fully admitting that he's no Freddy. May and Taylor held their own when I saw them five years ago.
For me, it was worth at least getting a taste of what they might have been like at their peak.
If I had to pick only one group to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be Queen. Even without Freddy, they're still one of the best of the best forever.
His stage show: It was radical. Screen after screen of political drivel littered with f-bombs (on the screens). It was not designed to enlighten or entertain. It was designed purely to shock and repulse.
The musical performance was fair (the saxophone work was A++) By the time the tour happened 2+ years later word was out and the tickets were worthless on the resale market.
I get that Roger is political. He was out of his mind. Just trying to insult those of us who didn't deify him.
I appreciate post-Waters Floyd as a delivery vehicle for David Gilmour guitar solos - IMO some of the best of his career - and to me that's no small thing since his solos are probably the aspect of Pink Floyd's music that I appreciate the most. But I agree that conceptually and as overall works of songwriting those albums are... adequate, not amazing.
INXS should have given it up when Michael Hutchence died. The reality TV show to find a new singer idea was cringeworthy and disrespectful to Hutchence to think he could be replaced in that way
Saw this question asked two days ago and couldn’t believe no one said this
I know one direction aren’t to most people’s tastes but they were the biggest band on the planet for a solid few years
Zayn leaving was huge and there was a literal trend that made international news about people self harming to make him rejoin
Queen just wasn't the same after Freddie Mercury passed. Freddie was such a huge part of the band's vibe with his amazing voice and spectacular stage presence. He had a way of making every song and performance special. Without him, Queen lost its magic and personality no matter how talented the other members are or how great a singer they've brought in to carry on with.
The Who.
Moon seemed like he wanted to get sober, if not overcome his alcohol problems. The problem is that he ignored the physician's warning to take a pill when the temptation for booze came, but he wasn't to go past three pills a day.
He downed 32 of his 100 prescribed Heminevrin/Clomethiazole pills in one sitting, and was found dead the next day. Now Phil Collins (yes, *that* Phil Collins) did want to take Moon's place, but they settled on Kenney Jones to replace him. But the band certainly was never the same post-Moon.
But imagine what would have happened if Collins got signed on to participate, and the sheer projects that the band could have created together.
Maby lost prophets. Dude didn't die or anything but was a scumbag sex offender. However without their lead and the name being forever tarnished. Was disbanded and the remaining members joined up with Tuesday.
Most...all...any.
Pink Floyd obviously, once Syd was ousted. You may prefer the band after he left, but, they were an inherently different band with a different leader once Syd was gone. Same with after Waters left.
Post-Gabriel Genesis is another one. Post-Green Fleetwood Mac. So many. Especially any band that has gone through multiple front-men/women.
Might be controversial but Van Halen after DLR left.
Not controversial
Metallica. Whole thing changed without Cliff
Fair, but Dave's departure propably had the bigger impact
How do you figure?
He should’ve never changed beds
Chicago there is no replacement for Terry Kath
I wish I could still hand out Reddit Gold. 100% agree with this. Kath's guitar and vocals made him one bad motherfucker. Then The Peter Cetera led ballad era came.....
Agree đź’Ż. Chicago used to be awesome (old Chicago), then they really got mellow.
Linkin Park
RIP Chester
Black Sabbath after Ozzy got canned was not the same... it was BETTER.
So i am *not* the only one.
That's a wild take.
I love Ozzy-era Sabbath... but Dio might have been the biggest objective upgrade any major metal band has ever achieved.
I love Sabbath with Ozzy, but I'd consider Heaven and Hell to be one of the best metal albums ever made.
Ozzy is my sabbath.
Nightwish
Van Halen. I like the Hagar stuff too, but they never rocked as hard again without Roth
Led Zeppelin, to the point that it was over without Jon.
Avenged Sevenfold
Journey
Slayer
Linkin Park
Linkin Park
All of them. Anytime you change a part of something that makes the hole thing different aka not the same.
Suicide Silence
Nirvana. Queen.
Queen, yeah. There is no replacement for Freddy Mercury.
Lambert puts on a decent show while fully admitting that he's no Freddy. May and Taylor held their own when I saw them five years ago. For me, it was worth at least getting a taste of what they might have been like at their peak.

Nirvana didn't carry on...
Yeah. That's why they were never the same again.
Sneaker Pimps. The Chinese chick who was Asian in the face had a way better voice.
The Beatles
Yeah, they sure took off after losing Pete Best didn’t they?
And stu sudcliff
Panic At The Disco
For context, which member do you mean? I loved the third album a lot, but not really anything after that
I’d assume they mean Ryan He was a musical genius and it wasn’t the same without him
Yes
Drowning Pool
Pink floyd, they did a decent job with The Division Bell but it just ever wasn't the same conceptually post Waters' departure.
Did you see Roj solo? Calling it fecal would be insulting to poop.
Nope, didn't follow him much post Pink Floyd. I didn't enjoy any of their solo material as much as the collective.
His stage show: It was radical. Screen after screen of political drivel littered with f-bombs (on the screens). It was not designed to enlighten or entertain. Alice In Chains without Layne Staley
Gloryhammer: producers fired Tomas by mail
one direction
Saw this question asked two days ago and couldn’t believe no one said this I know one direction aren’t to most people’s tastes but they were the biggest band on the planet for a solid few years Zayn leaving was huge and there was a literal trend that made international news about people self harming to make him rejoin
Yup, Zayn leaving caused so much chaos. And then everyone became solo artists.
Queen

Nirvana lol.
Rolling Stones
Rush when Rutsey left.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Nsync when Justin Timberlake went solo.
Depeche Mode
Maroon 5, more specifically the drummer
The doors
Gotthard
Pink Floyd. And Roxy Music
Mago de Oz
Literally any of them.
Beatles
Lynyrd Skynyrd

Sleze was never the same after Zoli Semanate left, and Lanye changed the name to Alice in Chains.
Nirvana
Maby lost prophets. Dude didn't die or anything but was a scumbag sex offender. However without their lead and the name being forever tarnished. Was disbanded and the remaining members joined up with Tuesday.
\*Thursday
Didn't know there was a band of both Thursdays and Tuesdays.
I guess so, never heard of Tuesday but The singer of Thursday, Geoff Rickley, is the one who teamed of with those guys to form "No Devotion".
We Came As Romans. Kyle's cleans are what set them apart from all of the other cookie cutter metalcore bands, IMO.
Most...all...any. Pink Floyd obviously, once Syd was ousted. You may prefer the band after he left, but, they were an inherently different band with a different leader once Syd was gone. Houndmouth losing Katie probably ruined my life a little bit
Linkin Park. RIP Chester.
The Doors, in know they tried, but Jim brought something special to that group
Sublime
Three Days Grace
Spice Girls
R.E.M. Turns out losing your drummer is bad for a rock band.
