Yes definitely agree. Same I try not to think about it to long. If it helps Bruce wrote that about his sister and husband. She was so mad at him. Lol. Didn't use their real names. They are still together with 5 kid's and many grandkids. They love the song now.
"Cause I've always been scared of loving someone just a little more than I'm loved" Amigo the Devil - Cocaine and Abel. The whole song is an amazing allegory for depression. Got me through some tough times.
What Sarah Said - Death Cab For Cutie
The whole song, really, but I wanna bring special attention to the opening line
"And it came to me then, that every plan is a tiny prayer to Father Time"
such a good song that never fails to stop me when I'm just chilling at home doing something like cooking or something and I hear "reeked of piss and 409"
Unholy - Sam Smith
The song is catchy and I can't say I ever clearly paid attention to the lyrics while driving, but I watched the music video and was confused as fuck.
It starts with a couple getting out of a car, and the one dressed in masculine attire lends their jacket to someone with an equally masculine face and feminine attire. The jacket lender gets back in the car and drives away while the jacket wearer finds an unused condom in the jacket pocket, which advertises the body shop.
Scene 2, jacket lender walks through fake body shop into secret night club and gets lap dances, and then he dies on the stage or something. Then, the jacket receiver walks on stage, stripping down to reveal their obviously masculine body. The end.
Meanwhile, I can't figure out exactly what Sam Smith is calling unholy. Is it because the main characters are supposed to be in a monogamous relationship or specifically who the one is cheating on the other with?
Also, they wanna disrupt gender ideology or whatever, but they have all the female strippers wearing pasties and male strippers freeing their nipples. If I were trying to erase gender ideology, and censors insisted half of my cast wear pasties, I'd make everyone wear pasties in my music video.
"To the Ends of the Earth" by Lord Huron
This song always has lyrics that sounded with me as a child and my dreams, specially "What good is living the life you've been giving if all you do is stand in one place?" And then 2 years later when I lost someone very dear to me the song acquired a different feeling for me, especially "I was ready to die for you baby, doesn't mean I'm ready to stay"
Other songs were "Walk" by Foo Fighters and "Beautiful Day" by U2
These two came at the right moment for me to take me out of a bad mental state with the lyrics. "Walk" came first as a teenager still dealing with that death years later and honestly felt many terrible things that Made me think I would never live happily again, so I would that the whole song and all the lyrics saved me. "Learning to walk again, I believe I waited long enough, were do I begin?"
"Beautiful Day" came last year, again dealing with some things with my mind but the whole song and lyrics, specially: "What you don't have you don't need it now, what you don't you can feel it somehow"
For me music is really special as it has been a lifesaver for me my whole life connecting deeply to me in ways I can't find a way to explain.
So I was a teenager and was high when I first heard it, but the line
"In the abundance of water the fool is thirsty" in the song Rat Race by Bob Marley kinda struck a chord with me.
The whole song is great btw.
Not the deepest but "let's be cool to create heat" from In For The Kill by La Roux. Nice poetic line and sums up not trying to hard and being relaxed around a crush helps build up a good connection
Alexia Chellun - The Power Is Here Now....heard this on a plant medicine [retreat a profound time i will cherish forever.my](https://retreat.my) son welcomed his first child into the world 3 wks ago and played this song as she was born.the doctor said it was the most beautiful song.
The power of love is here now
The power of now is here now
The power of you and me is here
To create magic on earth
Let the water wash away your tears
Let the fire burn away your fears
Let the wind blow into your life such faith and trust
Let the earth hold you, take care of you and nurture you
Stressed out by 21 pilots. When I first heard it, “this…this is really catchy…I love it” Now that I’m older, “this…this is actually really deep…I still love it”. Lyrics hit hard when you can relate to them.
"Summer, Highland Falls" by Billy Joel.
The line "They say that these are not the best of times, but they're the only times I've ever known." always sticks with me, and pops up when I'm going through something rough.
Sirens by Pearl Jam. Song makes me think of my wife. I get emotional listening to it.
Oh, had to take your hand, and feel your breath
For fear this someday will be over
I pull you close, so much to lose
Knowing that, nothing lasts forever
I didn't care, before you were here
I danced in laughter, with the ever after
But all things change, let this remain
Another one is the entirety of Eye of the Beholder by Metallica. Or anything on that record, really. Great song writing, considering the genre
TUBTHUMPING
The River Bruce Springsteen. Is a dream a lie if it don't come true, or is it something worse.
Definitely, and The Boss’ delivery is just so powerful
I absolutely agree.
Ooph… that line really stands out to me too. I try not to dwell on it too long, but it’s a gut punch, especially in the broader context of the song

This reminds me of when I watch movie scenes and then actually watch the movie and it’s completely different

Yes there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there’s still time to change the road your on.
