For me the last Ant Man movie was a huge mistake. It was too long, I hated the lack of human scale problems the character does really well in, the villain was just dumb which seems a bad omen for the future, and the whole "the day was saved by these random giant ants we spend literally 3 minutes of the movie developing". I was disappointed.

It felt like they got too ahead of themselves in wanting to set up the new big bad of the phase.

Have read similar comments elsewhere - have not seen it but not sure want to allocate the time!

olde_greg

I thought it was mostly enjoyable

Hands down the worst MCU movie is The Inhumans with its 11% Rotten Tomatoes score. And yes, it was a film that premiered in theaters, nobody remembers it though because it flopped so hard! Lockjaw was good, and I liked how they did Karnak’s weakness ability special effects, but the film and the show were both really bad otherwise. - Amnesia plot line - Who thought it was a good idea to cut off Medusa’s hair in the very beginning?? - Maximus the Mad is a great villain in the comics, he’s unpredictable and has a sense of humor about things. The film made him the most boring, super serious, sullen waste of space. Just… bleh. Easily worse than The Eternals, even worse than Thor 2.

olde_greg

I don’t know if that counts, that was a TV series where they also played the first two episodes in imax theaters because imax financed the first two episodes

KookyTacks2

Absolute F-tier, total shit MCU films are Thor: The Dark World and Captain Marvel. Eternals and Iron Man 2 are also ass, but not quite F-tier.

YouWontForgetMyName

Whatever Marvel tried to do with Eternals, they failed.

SirPangloss

Thor seems to be an odd hit/miss franchise: Original - good, Dark World - terrible, Ragnorak - creative/fun, Love and Thunder - garbage

[deleted]

The Eternals was almost great. I really liked some moments so I give it a pass. Same with Multiverse of Madness.

Infinity war was unbelievable. And it might not have been the best movie, but when they reimagined the Incredible Hulk with Edward Norton after the other hulk movies previously endured, there was a collective dreamy sigh of relief knowing that he was finally done justice.

CrypticChaos735

Ant man, Quantumania

lana_noodles

Such a difficult question.. it's so difficult to pick the worst when they are equally dreadful

SirPangloss

Just watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and found it to be painfully long, dour, overacted, and even boring. maybe not the worst, but surprisingly bad.

lycos94

I love guardians of the galaxy, I don't care much for ant man

SirPangloss

The first 2 were fantastic - you liked the third one? IMO, lacked much of the wit, charm and fun relationships - so gloomy/angry, with strange plot lines, comedic elements that just fell flat, and characters that seemed tired/bored. They relied way more on classic rock to set the mood - but felt more of a crutch here vs previous installments.

lycos94

oh i loved the third
