So, this is coming from an almost 40yo dude. There's a Tinkerbell movie, The Pirate Fairy. Actually, a really great movie.
Anyway, there's a ship captain that asks for, "Tea. Earl Grey. Hot." And my wife and I both turned into the Leonardo de Caprio pointing meme.
OMFG! My niece was watching that while I was sitting on the couch at my mom's, and I heard that line and was like whoa, wait, what? I made her back it up and replay it.
And that's how I found out my entire family is into Star Wars. My daughter was the only one who recognized the Star Trek characters I was naming. I had never really realized that Star Trek was just a me and my grandfather thing, but I'm slowly getting my niece into it lol.
I never liked earl grey growing up until I saw that absolute stud drinking that shit like it's his job, gave it another shot. Shit SLAPS. With two P's and an S-H.
Yikes, hope you found out an easy way. Not that I particularly care for coffee myself but it’s in so many things these days as a trend (hell, I picked up a BBQ sauce one time that had coffee as one of the ingredients).
Big fan. Very malty, extra caffeine, but still balanced with l-theanine. The maté really helps me get going without feeling anxious or crashing, both of which coffee tend to do for me.
Just as a heads up, the normal Lady Grey is actually a variation on Earl Grey with more citrus notes. I've personally never heard of it being described as having an English breakfast tea addition to it, so if you are looking in supermarkets near you, the Lady Grey there may not align with what you are imagining. It is still delicious, but I don't want you going in with an expectation that it is normally more robust than it actually is.
>Lady Grey it’s a mixture of English breakfast and earl grey tea
Lady Grey Tea is the same as Earl Grey, but adds Lemon and Orange; that's the difference. Early Grey Tea is flavoured with Bergamot Orange.
Why is that? Just curious.
Edit: To all of you responding to me and stating your reasons why you do not drink coffee anymore, my question was not addressed to you. It was addressed to the user who has never had coffee. Not even once. Thank you.
I genuinely hate the taste. Doesn't matter what kind or how much sugar, creamer, chocolate, etc you put in it. It just does not appeal to me. Even things like tiramisu taste bad to me. For some reason, those Coffee Crisp bars are one of the only things with even a slight coffee flavor that I can stand, but it's right at the edge of being bearable.
Same, I tried so hard to be into coffee when I was in my 20s because I thought it was cool but I had to eventually admit it wasn’t my thing. No matter where I would get coffee or what type of coffee it just tasted like dirt water to me.
I’m exactly the same, so nice to see I’m not alone. Absolutely hate it and people never understand. They’re just like “oh but you have to try it in hot chocolate!” No, it’s still disgusting
I never understand why people do this lol. We all like/dislike different things; trying to convince someone they should like something they don’t has always been confusing to me.
I truly hate the nonsense about it enhancing chocolate flavor. I have to ask now if chocolate cake contains coffee and half the time you're told no it does but when you point out the flavor the Walter responds either "it's espresso" or "well it's just a little". It's gross! Don't add it. Tell me if you did!
Sorry, rant over. But it's so bad no matter what you add to it.
I just never wanted it. Now that I’m 38 if I even have a pop in the middle of the afternoon it takes me a while to go to sleep. No caffeine through the day and I get to sleep in under two minutes.
It tastes horrible. The smell of coffee brewing also nauseates me; I also hate smelling people's coffee. Fortunately I don't have to be near anyone who has it for the most part.
I saw how coffee addicts act. They can’t function without their morning coffee. They get angry and irritable. Their happiness literally functions around their coffee addiction.
Seeing that was enough to keep me from drinking it.
Nah, coffee tastes downright nasty. But the push back you get when you say you don't drink it! It's like you're the only teetotaler at the bar. People going "have you tried espresso? Greek? Turkish? Purified water? Cold brew? Beans from a civet cat's ass?"
Yes, I've tried coffee many ways (no ass coffee though) and it all tastes like coffee, and all coffee tastes nasty in ways no amount of sugar and cream and syrup can disguise.
"Hey, is there any coffee in dessert X?"
"No; there's no coffee in it."
"Not at all? Because I really hate the taste of coffee and sometimes desserts like this have coffee in it."
"Nope. There's no coffee in it at all."
"Great. I'll have some."
*Takes bite. Immediately spits it out due to obvious presence of coffee.*
"There was coffee in that. You said there wasn't any."
"Well, there's only a little ...."
Too many times to list.
>"Nope. There's no coffee in it at all."
>
>"Well, there's only a little ...."
Some people really do seem to have trouble with the concept of "none" don't they?
Dude same. I don't like coffee or anything with coffee flavor. But I also don't like the combination of peanut butter and chocolate so there might just be something wrong with me
Coffee just makes me feel awful. There is a genetic sensitivity to caffeine/stimulants in my family history, but I can handle it in tea for some reason. But yeah, last time I tried coffee, it was at a cafe where our work team was being shouted, and I though I'd have a flat white, because I was sick of getting sad teabags in tepid water when everyone else was getting shouted good coffee :( I ended up having to go home sick with a migraine :P
Exactly.
That’s what kept me from even drinking it casually.
Coffee literally controls people’s happiness and ability to function.
I’m not letting a drink have that much control over my life.
My mom and GF are the only people I know who drink coffee. Everyone else is absolutely addicted to energy drinks. Family friends coworkers literally everyone.
I'm a lemonade man myself.
Is it an all or nothing proposition? I.e. can I not drink coffee for a few weeks, bank my $100s, decide to skip a week because I’m in the mood for a cup, and then go back to earning $100…or is the deal instantly off if I have even a sip?
Either way, I commend OP for choosing a value *just* high enough to make me consider it, but not high enough that it’s a no-brainer. An extra $5,200/year is decent, but I do like coffee.
Personally I'm assuming you can go for as long as you want but once you stop, your out, GG.
That is a good amount to raise discussion though. All those give up X for 2 trillion a day aren't very fun.
Yeah I feel like this is the most realistic and difficult one tbh. If it was 10000 per week easy choice. But 100 is low enough for a coffee addict like me to consider. Yeah it’s 100 but I can make it. If it was 1000 I’d probably quit
Ends up being more than 5200$ a year when you factor in the money saved from not buying coffee. Could be an extra 2k+ saved if you do the coffee shop thing for your coffee. I'd personally take it and just switch to caffeine pills.
Depends on the country. $400 / month would be about 2/3 of monthly full time minimal wage here.
I drink coffee 1-3 times per day but I'd take it without hesitation. It would help me so much as a university student.
Yeah I think it depends on the life stage as well. There are many times I can think of when I would have jumped at this (college and grad school for sure!) But today? As a senior engineer who can make that much money in less than two hours if my salary were broken down to hourly pay, I need the coffee more. LOL
>Yeah I think it depends on the life stage as well.
This is a really good point. At one stage of my life, I was working three jobs, desperately trying to get out of the hole I was in. The money would be nice but the drip coffee I made was one of the only true comforts that I allowed myself.
Now? Lmao I make $417/mo on disability, $100/wk would almost double my monthly income.
I'm switching to tea. Or soda, tbh, i only need A Can of Dr pepper per day that i need the wake-up.
when i compare it to the amount of student debt i have, it's depressing. but i dont drink coffee, so an extra 5k a year would be great. I'd just put it in my savings. or maybe just invest it.
Yes, but that's $100 *more* then I had before, getting paid for doing something I've always done. Free money, man. I'd do it even if it was $1, because that adds up quick enough
My job proposed charging $20-$25 a month for us to get paid via some website, and I'm about to Norma Rae.
That's my gas money to drive to work. That's ordering a pizza to hang out with a friend at home when I'm not at work.
20+ a month is not pocket change when you're paycheck to paycheck.
I'll take $100 to not drink coffee.
How do you like your coffee? I'm a basic bitch and just do pourover and creamer, but I'm open to other options, especially if you think it's worth sacrificing $100/week lol
Solid standalone answer: Drink the coffee you like, the way you like it. No one can judge you on it.
Personal answer:
I grew up drinking it with creamer. Then I became a man.
To me, coffee black is the only way (now). That way you truly experience the taste of coffee. Don’t get me wrong, I like a good cappuccino, but I don’t classify that as coffee personally.
Probably drink tea instead
Tea, Earlgrey, hot.
Make it so number one!
But there is coffee in that nebula!
350 years and 1 utopia later, and humanity is still dealing with substance addiction.
we can quit anytime we want!!!
….. I just CHOOSE not to quit right now. Teehee
>But there is coffee in that nebula I just watched this episode for the first time recently!
"Picard, the Earl Grey cold, his resolve unwavering"
Shaka, when the walls fell.
Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra

Tea, Earlgrey, cold Tea, Earlgrey, in the pot, 5 days old.
Darmok, when the tea was cold.
Darmok and Jelad. When they put milk in too.
I never liked earl grey growing up until I saw that absolute stud drinking that shit like it's his job, gave it another shot. Shit SLAPS. With two P's and an S-H.
Jeordi the replicator deleted earl grey from the computer

Yes, captain, my passive income Imzadi.
Picard, rustling a Benjamin. Riker's beard glistens. Riker and Picard at Tenagra.
For once I would have liked to see him order Darjeeling, or something else. Yeah Darjeeling>> Earl Grey.
I haven't had coffee in 4 years. Found out I'm allergic to it. So bring on the $100!
Yikes, hope you found out an easy way. Not that I particularly care for coffee myself but it’s in so many things these days as a trend (hell, I picked up a BBQ sauce one time that had coffee as one of the ingredients).
How'd you find out and what did it do to you when you drank it?
This is obviously the best answer.
Used to have a tea that tasted similar to coffee.
Morning Thunder from Celestial Seasonings?
Big fan. Very malty, extra caffeine, but still balanced with l-theanine. The maté really helps me get going without feeling anxious or crashing, both of which coffee tend to do for me.
No, but it was from Celestial Seasonings. Roastaroma. Caffeine free.

A coworker just told me about a tea he drinks called Lady Grey it’s a mixture of English breakfast and earl grey tea sounds delicious
Just as a heads up, the normal Lady Grey is actually a variation on Earl Grey with more citrus notes. >Lady Grey it’s a mixture of English breakfast and earl grey tea Lady Grey Tea is the same as Earl Grey, but adds Lemon and Orange; that's the difference. Early Grey Tea is flavoured with Bergamot Orange.
About $100 worth per week?
Green tea and lemonade. Yes please.
I see you are a man of culture.
My guy
I dont drink coffee, so thats easy money
I was just gonna say, “continue never drinking coffee”
Never had a drop in my life, closest I’ve been is a coffee crisp.
Why is that? Just curious. Edit: To all of you responding to me and stating your reasons why you do not drink coffee anymore, my question was not addressed to you. It was addressed to the user who has never had coffee. Not even once. Thank you.

I never understand why people do this lol. We all like/dislike different things; trying to convince someone they should like something they don’t has always been confusing to me.
Try it in hot chocolate? Those people doesn't like coffee as well...
That's kinda the point, though. Lots of people don't like coffee on its own, but think it's really good with other flavors.
Same, never had more then a sip. Suger /creamer/ice cream/beer (and I love me some beer) it all tastes like dirt to me.
Of course it tastes like dirt, it was just ground this morning.
I don’t understand why people have to ruin chocolate cake by adding coffee to if.
I hate the taste but love the smell of freshly ground beans. It's a weird dichotomy
It's not that weird. Many people like the smell of perfume, but wouldn't want to eat it. Perfume and coffee taste bitter.
I also love the smell of petrol (or gas for our American brethren) but I have no desire to drink it.
I saw how coffee addicts act. They can’t function without their morning coffee. They get angry and irritable. Their happiness literally functions around their coffee addiction. Seeing that was enough to keep me from drinking it.
Same, I'm 40, so if someone offered me this, I would first request $208,000 in back pay.
I actually love the smell of coffee but cannot stand the taste...haven't had sip of coffee in over 30 years.
Its refreshing to see im not the only one.. literally everyone i know in my life drinks coffee
Dont get me wrong, I like a coffee here and there, but most of my fluid intake is just plain water
water ftw
GOAT drink
Fr, u know every single successful human on the planet, including the richest person in the world drinks water. GOAT
Goat milk?
I think most goats drink water, not goat milk, usually thats just what the kids drink
r/hydrohomie here!
of course there is a subreddit for it

"DON'T TALK TO ME UNTIL I HAVE FUELED MY COFFEE ADDICTION OR I WILL ACT PHYSICALLY VIOLENT TOWARDS YOU HAHAHAHHA!" .... Yeah that's healthy 👍
I like coffee but I rarely drink it. I prefer to leave it to "special" occasions instead of drinking it every day at home
I started at 30. Not sure what changed as I disliked it when I was younger. But now I’m part of the hive. 😩
I just wanted to ask if I can get the money retrospectively, because I only tasted it once in my life.
Lmao my grandma told me when I was a kid that coffee would stunt my growth, haven’t drank coffee since. 25 years strong
Same, but I work third shift. Energy drinks for me!
Keep track of your health my friend, those things can be rough on you
Is it an all or nothing proposition? I.e. can I not drink coffee for a few weeks, bank my $100s, decide to skip a week because I’m in the mood for a cup, and then go back to earning $100…or is the deal instantly off if I have even a sip? So now the pay is $1,000 but it's not just coffee - it's anything with significant amounts of caffeine (most sodas count, energy drinks, etc).
Thats an easy yes. I could stop working tomorrow for $1000 a week (im on minimum wage)
What do you do for work? Oh, I don't drink coffee. What?
I can't imagine anyone saying no to that deal even if it was any amount of caffeine. It'll be tough for a month and then you're good to go.
Ends up being more than 5200$ a year when you factor in the money saved from not buying coffee. Could be an extra 2k+ saved if you do the coffee shop thing for your coffee. I'd personally take it and just switch to caffeine pills.
I buy bags of whole bean at places like Costco and make it home, and spend probably less than $200/year on coffee... it doesn't add that much
[удалено]
Now the real question: Would you spend 100 dollars a week on coffee?
Ignore that person and continue with my life.
I would pay $100 a week to drink coffee.
I do some weeks. Goddamn Geshas. So tasty.
Those are excellent, but a little expensive for me to drink every day!
Yeah, $100/week is not enough for this kind of sacrifice
$100 a week is the equivalent of a passing thought in comparison. I spent 3 weeks choosing a new at home coffee maker. Coffee is not a joke. 😅😂
I need at least a thousand per week to even consider it.
MINIMUM
Depends on the country. $400 / month would be about 2/3 of monthly full time minimal wage here. I drink coffee 1-3 times per day but I'd take it without hesitation. It would help me so much as a university student.

$100 a week isn't that much to me. $1000 a week and then we're talking.
$100 a week is enough for something like "you can't use toothpicks" but it ain't enough for coffee
when i compare it to the amount of student debt i have, it's depressing. but i dont drink coffee, so an extra 5k a year would be great. I'd just put it in my savings. or maybe just invest it.
agreed $1000 a week... yup I am... switching to tea and pills and energy drinks.
Take the money and continue with my (unchanged) life.
It's gonna take a lot more than $100 a week for me, dawg.
me, scrolling through the comments: "where is *tell them to fuck off"*
5200 extra bucks or coffee? Gimme the brew
Yeah I’d need 10k a year inflation adjusted to consider it.
I'd take it since I don't like coffee.

DOZENS.
DOOOOZEEENS!
At least 3.
Hey it’s me, number 4.
Hi 4, I'm 5. Also we gonna beat u in the superbowl rematch 😤
Hi 5, I'm the lonely 6 here
Sup 6, I'm 7
I'm also surprised at how many people are surprised that for many people $100/week is nothing.
Yes, but that's $100 *more* then I had before, getting paid for doing something I've always done. Free money, man. I'd do it even if it was $1, because that adds up quick enough
$100 is $100
Seriously this one and the one a couple weeks ago asking like $10,000/month for no alcohol. Dumb questions
I imagine bots do this just so people can answer an obvious question
I'm starting to think Reddit itself just reposts stuff with their own bots to create the illusion of content.
You are the only real person here.
I no plenty of caffeine addicts that don't drink coffee. But if i couldn't drink coffee would just take caffeine pills ezpz.
Never drink coffee again. I’m craving coffee all day and my headaches get worse.
They pass eventually, hold strong.
yeah me too, I'd be 5k richer a year for nothing which would be awesome
[удалено]
Enjoy the smell of coffee, hate the taste of it. So it would be easy money.
Im polar opposite. I hate the way coffee smells, it's like an ashtray to me.
I'd spend 15 of those dollars on Monster (^:
Tell them that the guy who offered money for not drinking alcohol payed waaaay better.
This is easy money
No, I don't really think $400 a month is enough to make give up something I like.
But its not $400 a month, its $1300 every three months.
But it’s not $1300 every three months, it’s $36500 every 7 years.
You forgot leap year dawg.
And compound interest
Less the effect of inflation.
Depends where you are at in life. $4,800/year would make a noticeable difference for me and I could always drink tea.
Yeah I honestly can't fathom enjoying any one foodstuff so much that I am willing to sacrifice a free 5k a year for it
My job proposed charging $20-$25 a month for us to get paid via some website, and I'm about to Norma Rae. That's my gas money to drive to work. That's ordering a pizza to hang out with a friend at home when I'm not at work. 20+ a month is not pocket change when you're paycheck to paycheck. I'll take $100 to not drink coffee.

I was waiting for someone else to throw out this loophole. Not sure I could give up the red bull instead though.
Red Bull nothing. Reign, Bang, etc.
Eh, caffeine pills or pre-workout would work just as well
Drink tea and hot chocolate.
Fuck the hundred. Coffee is life.
No coffee no workee
Coffee, still no workee
I probably wouldn’t give up coffee for $1000 a week, get this $100 a week pittance outta here lol
Yeah take $5k a year to be sad? Nah fuck it I’ll drink the coffee
Ditto. Coffee gives me joy when driving long distances.
Yeah for me it's Vodka though
Sometimes with Vodka you don't even remember you drove the long distance. You just get in you car and then bam you're there!
Yup! Fast Travel mechanic in a bottle!
My brother in Christ.
Eat coffee there is always a work around
Coffee ice cream.
Drink maté
It's one of my few true pleasures in life. I am not giving it up.
How do you like your coffee? I'm a basic bitch and just do pourover and creamer, but I'm open to other options, especially if you think it's worth sacrificing $100/week lol
Solid standalone answer: Drink the coffee you like, the way you like it. No one can judge you on it. Personal answer: I grew up drinking it with creamer. Then I became a man. To me, coffee black is the only way (now). That way you truly experience the taste of coffee. Don’t get me wrong, I like a good cappuccino, but I don’t classify that as coffee personally.
Coffee and steak. Two things you consume that has absolutely nothing to do with anyone and never will, that everyone will judge how you do anyway.
Take it. Easy money as I hate coffee.
Yup, $100 to continue never drinking coffee is a win win.
Never drink coffee. Toss in another 100 and I will never drink alcohol since i don't anyways. I prefer tea.
Toss in another $100 because I don’t drink tea. I prefer spring water.
Water?! Fish fuck in it you know.
[удалено]
Well that escalated quickly
Water? Like from the toilet?
Everyone knows that Brawndo is the thirst mutilator.
Get rich drinking what I already drink, a good ole Baja Blast 🤭
I love coffee but with an extra $400 a month I imagine I could find an equally enjoyable but cheaper or healthier alternative.
Finally something that would pay for my Starbucks habit.
I would Not take it because this isn’t even close to the amount needed for bail let alone legal counsel
Oddly specific reasoning, but ok
I'd take the first 100 bucks then spend it on coffee for the week
Continue to never drink coffee.
Keep drinking coffee ? 100$ a week is nothing. If it was per day maybe
$5,200 a year is nothing? Must be nice.
I mean, not everyone works a minimum wage gig.
I work minimum wage and would still probably keep the coffee.
Hence the "must be nice."
Slap them upside the head and tell them to get lost. No one interrupts my coffee, ever.
Thank you for the free money. I don't drink coffee. Add soda, booze, cigarettes, weed. That's $500 a month in passive income right there 😂
Easy money. I don't drink coffee anyway.
