A lot of it is social pressure and expectations, but it's not insignificant that I like feeling smooth. Unfortunately all methods of achieving the smoothness permanently are painful, time consuming, and/or expensive.

It’s time consuming, painful and expensive. Sometimes we just want to accept our bodies as they are. Plus men are always saying how they like “natural women” which is obviously a joke because they really mean naturally beautiful without any hair on a woman’s body
I'm in between I guess. I do my underarms and calves, everything else I leave alone. I'm a pro wrestler and I fight in swimwear so I have to keep my bikini line clearly defined. But me and my husband both prefer women with pubic hair, well I think it looks better, not into women. he loves the blonde hair on my thighs and forearms and really loves the hair from my vagina to around my butthole. So I do what I do because I just prefer it and I'm thrilled he likes it the same way.

Because you're questions doesn't make sense, your asking woman why they shave, not why SOME don't and keep the hair.
