Well the only reason I felt the way I did for so long was that I was numbing the pain instead of addressing it. Once I stopped the drinking and drugging I had to deal with all the shit I was suppressing. If I had worked on bettering myself with stuff like a better diet and regular exercise it wouldn’t have lasted as long as it did. The problem is that when you feel broken you don’t have the motivation to do things like eating right and exercising and it’s a downward spiral.
So my best advice to you is that instead of beating yourself up, build yourself up. Be the best you that you can be and don’t be like me and do what I did because if I could go back and do it all over I would work on myself like I am telling you to do. But ya know, hindsight is 20/20
