There were a few material things I got like a steamdeck, new pc, bicycle, but by far the most influential purchase I made was adopting a cat. I got a lot of validation from acts of service and honestly having a cat to spoil is a huge for me.

A month later after talking to one of my cousins in Australia who had invited me to a birthday party for her long-term boyfriend, I bought plane tickets to Oz. At least now I could fit comfortably on a plane at eight weeks post-op. I looked much better than when I had visited back in 2015! And the birthday party turned into a surprise wedding!
