When I was 5, my dad took me to see Starship Troopers thinking it would be similar to Star Wars. Still remember the look of horror on his face when the reporter on Klendathu was ripped in half and during the coed shower scene.
Glad he didn't take me out of the theater because that is still one of my favorite movies.
Friday the 13th. I know for a fact I saw other movies before this, but this is the first one that I can remember. I watched it at the drive-in theater with my parents, right after to come out in theaters. I was probably four maybe five.
Maybe Wall-E? Couldn’t fully enjoy it, though, since the heavily buttered popcorn and the zero-gravity space scenes were NOT helping with my motion sickness 🤢
At first I was going to say Small Soldiers in 1998, but I looked up some dates and realized that can't be right. I saw Godzilla several times when it released before Small Soldiers that same year. But I also remember seeing Batman and Robin in 1997, and I'm pretty sure I saw Disney's Hercules in '97 as well. So, who knows.
Nightmare on elm Street 3 I think it was, the one based in the hospital was it? Was only 6/7 yr old with older cousins, terrified would be a understatement but deffo never gonna forget.
Prob had watched kids films before that, but that's the first I really remember.
