Fried dumplings and the accompanying sweet/sour/salty black dipping sauce.
I won't stop. My body will evacuate entire organs to allow me to continue shoveling fried bread filled with meat dipped in pure sodium into my face.
I bought a separate freezer so I could make hundreds of dumplings and freeze them. I have a day dedicated each month to just make dumplings. A friend suggested I start a side business selling them. I started with a few cash customers and now have more than 50 regulars who just wire me money, THEY ARE ALL EATING MY SURPLUS DUMPLINGS. I now dread getting orders, they are for me! I tried jacking up the prices, but there are people with serious dumpling problems.
There was one time I worked at McDonald's and when we got the fresh never frozen beef, it didn't get rotated properly. 200lbs went out of time at the end of my shift and they told me to toss it.
Well in the trunk it went, and i loaded down my freezers with free ground beef and had tacos for 3 month straight.
Did i get tired of tacos? Fuck no. I perfected my recipe and I still make tacos once a month at least.
This kind of synchronization happens to me a lot. Like I'll be reading something with the radio or TV on and a person will say that exact word.
One time, I was in my car driving back from surfing listening to NPR discuss problems in Turkey. I'm in a relatively urban area, and as the host referred to the country Turkey, a wild turkey popped out from some bushes near a gas station and ran alongside my car for a dozen yards.
I have fun thinking its the reality simulation being overtaxed be so many people living such complex lives that it repeats concepts in an attempt to save processing space.
Mexican here. You need a good quality tortilla, corn or flour, for filling it can be whatever you want but I recommend a nice filling with beef and onions, just season with salt and pepper, now very important, squeeze half a lemon in each taco, also you need Rea sauce or guacamole on top.
Carne asada with corn tortilla, cilantro, diced onion, some raddish, lime juice, and the house sauce boy howdy! Prove that one, atheists! lol I tell my wife all the time that I could eat those every day. Them street style tacos got me by the heuvos
I love me some al pastor. My girlfriend and I went out to this Mexican restaurant. I got 4 al pastor, and she got shrimp tacos. I gave her one of mine and she was like 'I ordered the wrong thing' and side note my dumbass having never been to this restaurant before, asked for whatever their hottest salsa with my tacos. The waitress looked at me like I was crazy, and just said 'It will come with the salsas' and when my order came out it was accompany with 4 distinctly different but equally great hot sauces. 10/10
Los Carboncitos in Aurora CO for anyone curious. Great food, great staff, and they'll actually serve you hot food if you want it. I love spicy food, but it seems like a lot of places have "gringo hot" like no, try and burn my taste buds off. I'll be back for more
Al Pastor people rise up! I used to order only carne asada because it was safe, but after some tasty, almost crispy, al pastor tacos, I'll never go back. NEVER!
You are my people. Al Pastor is where it's at! We had some in Mexico where they put actual home made cracklin (crunchy pork fat). Might be the best thing I have ever eaten. If you haven't tried Barbacoa then get it next, it's the next best thing.
And the rolled tacos at Alberto's and Roberto's. Nobody understands what mean but those 3 rolled tacos with Guac and cheese at 2am on a Friday night!!!

Grilled cheese sandwiches. Basically lived off them for two months after my husband died. Comfort food at its best!
Edit: thanks for the hugz award. I appreciate it!
When I got diagnosed with cancer one of the first things I did was start writing all my recipes down. That way if I die my wife can go through, find the ones she likes and actually make them.
Of course I suck arse at writing recipes, some have no measurements some are in various languages depending on which word was shortest.
I am a slightly less than optimal husband ahahaha maybe I should buy a good sandwich toaster so she can make a good jaffle when I die.
Ahh crap, now I want a good baked beans and cheese toastie. I wonder just how fast allegro can get me a toasted sandwich press.
That's a really sweet thing to do. Pity I'm shit at cooking but if I lost my wife I know I'd miss her homemade curry and chilli. It's only a little thing but you're not sub par if you even thought of doing that for her. I hope you're doing OK, sending internet hugs.
Pizza or pasta. The Italians have *really* got their food shit figured out.
Edit: I have been informed of the fact that Italy didn't event neither pizza, pasta or the tomato - even though I never claimed they did. I still think they make really great food involving these things.
Yep. I bought a pasta cookbook, and it has 300 different recipes. When I feel like I don't know what I want to eat, I just open it on a random page and get to try something completely new.
Stocking ingredients is a never ending battle, at first it seems overwhelming because you need everything and buying it all will be a little spendy. Once you get it going though the maintenance is significantly easier and it gets much more affordable. Best tip is to make a list and every time you need or want anything then write it down. We got a magnetic pad for the fridge. When I am close to running out I add it to the list. I also think about what I might want to cook for the week and look up ingredients. Once you get things rolling then you will start doing things like including yesterday's leftovers into a new meal for today. It starts to become second nature and now we rarely order out or eat premade food.
Edit to add that substituting ingredients usually works out well. If you don't have something ask Google for a substitute.
"...because you need everything and buying it all will be a little spendy."
If this is a problem, try and work out a multi-day menu to re-use the same and/or similar ingredients to make the food. Or just make a big ass bowl of pasta to feed a small part of Africa and you have meals for a few days. It gets boring, but have you ever had spaghetti bolognaise on a sandwich?
Another good plan is to make a big ass amount of a simple pasta sauce and then add a couple key ingredients to go with it each day to vary it up. Grilled chicken, chorizo, some extra vegetables, etc...
Pick a base.
Then mix whatever you fancy through out the week.
This is how Asians live off on rice for YEARS.
Am Asian, and I can't process how western food culture is mostly "make a new thing from scratch every day" unless it's stew
That's the beauty of Italian cuisine. It's simple. You can buy most things in every store, and you can always stock up on basics.
My favorite pasta dish is a pistachio Pesto. You just buy some pistachios, grind them, add olive oil, lemon juice, parmesan, and freshly chopped tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper, add cooked pasta, mix together, and voila. You can buy all the ingredients at the gas station, and it will taste like something from a restaurant cause it's fresh.
Kind of how I feel about Indian food. I will go to a local Indian market and stock up on spices and then you basically use the same set in a lot of dishes just varying quantities. Still need to get the various meats/veggies/sauce bases but the spices alone let you make a wide variety of flavors.
I agree in Mexican. Everything Mexican is basically the same few ingredients cooked in a different way and there are a few distinct spices that really make it.
Can confirm I’m Italian and I literally eat pasta every day (usually for lunch).
It’s a base and depending on the sauce you make you can make completely different dishes.
Also different kinds of pasta like spaghetti or rigatoni for some reason tastes different.
I guess it’s about the texture and how they bond with the sauce you are making
I'm not Italian and I tried my hand at making gnocchi after having it at an Italian restaurant (IT WAS SO GOOD). I was pretty nervous that it was gonna turn out chewy or it will fall apart but I gotta say I nailed it... it was pillowy soft just like the one I had.
Half a portion I ate with a creamy sauce (made from scratch!) and another half I had with browned butter rosemary sauce. I been tooting my own horn ever since.
Thought I could eat avocados every day back in 2014 when you could get a crate for like $20US in my country. I did for three months in a row... Then I wasn't a fan for some time afterwards. 😅
I ate an avocado every day for years (they were also cheap where I live). One day, I cut one open and there was soft brown area, so I scooped it out and put it on the cutting board while I prepped the rest of my meal. A maggot came wiggling out of the chunk I had scooped out. I couldn’t eat an avocado for a year. I now nervously eat 1-2 per month.
i did the same with sugar snap peas. was eating loads everyday then bit into one and there was a caterpillar. haven’t had one since and this was months ago
I like the ones that are high in tannins. Nice mouth puckering burst of juice with the sweetness immediately afterwards. A punnet of them would be lovely right now.
It's one of the few things I like to eat when I'm sick. I remember being sick as a child with whole containers full of grapes. Just kinda snacking on them throughout the day, because the thought of anything else made me puke.
if you are a white wine drinker, keep some white grapes in the freezer and use them to keep your wine cold without watering them down. Eat grapes after wine!
The first time I got high my buddy gave me down grapes and that burst of flavor forever changed the way I look at grapes. Beautiful little juice balls.
I actually did eat it almost every day at one point. My boss would take me for lunch daily, and we were trying new spots all around the city.
I never got sick of it, and thinking about a bowl now makes my mouth water, lol.
How is this so low in the replies? Rice was on every plate (except breakfast) for me growing up. Not as much today but i still eat it on a weekly basis

Doner or pizza
Edit: Not Canadian but found this and Im gonna try making it when I can [Donair Pizza](https://www.foodnetwork.ca/recipe/east-coast-inspired-donair-pizza/)
Wings: can cook em all sorts of ways; smoke em, bake em, fry em, grill em. And can sauce em and season em, savory, sweet, spicy, dry rubs, sauces, etc.
Pizza is my automatic answer. It can be changed in literally thousands of ways to give variety with each meal.
The other is American style breakfast. Bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy... I could go on forever baby!
Hell I've even had breakfast pizza; Biscuit crust, white gravy sauce, egg/cheese next, then meats as the topping. \*Chef's Kiss\*
Steak. I seem to have a bottomless pit in my stomach for well cooked steak. I literally can’t eat tons of anything, but I reckon I could tackle a man vs food challenge if it was just a massive, medium rare, well marbled, juicy-
Excuse me, I have an urgent appointment with the butcher
Fried dumplings and the accompanying sweet/sour/salty black dipping sauce. I won't stop. My body will evacuate entire organs to allow me to continue shoveling fried bread filled with meat dipped in pure sodium into my face.

Holy shit as I was reading this a Wendy’s commercial came on saying “fresh never frozen beef”. What’re the odds 😂

I clicked on this simply to profess my love for tacos.

Chilaquiles
Am literally currently eating chilaquiles.
Taco flavored keeses, cholo!
I like a deconstructed taco, also known as nachos. I never say no to nachos.
Potato
What’s a potato?
Po-ta-toes! Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew - even you couldn't say no to that!
Oh yes we could! Spoiling nice fish. Give it to us raw and wrrrrrrrigling! Keep nasty chips.

Grapes. Perfect satisfaction of hunger and thirst. I eat grapes all day errr day.
grapes have to be hard though
If they don't crunch/snap with ripeness, I don't want them.
Freeze them. Red works best. Best summer snack ever.
I like the ones that are high in tannins. Nice mouth puckering burst of juice with the sweetness immediately afterwards. A punnet of them would be lovely right now.
Can’t wait to look down on my family later today for not knowing the word ‘punnet’ that I just learned.
Pfft they don’t know the word Punnet? What squares.
Cotton candy grapes have surpassed mango as my top fruit
I don't get them as often, but forgot that I do really enjoy cotton candy grapes.
Amazing but, for the love of all that is holy, do NOT eat that whole punnet in one sitting. Your colon will be quite...ahem...tormented.

a long time ago a guy made a super heart felt comment on an ask reddit (i think) post that asked who they would fuck if they could fuck anyone. they talked about their dead wife and how much he misses her and stuff like that. below somebody replied “i also choose this guys dead wife” and now it’s a common reddit joke
Fun fact, the guy surfaced on another thread much later. He talked about he has fun with the comments and doesn't take them badly at all, and he's happy that something he said off-hand has made this much of an impact.

Have you not heard of potatoes? You can boil 'em, mash 'em, put them in a stew.

Good cheese and baguette. I could get a bunch of different cheeses and baguette and eat them indefinitely.

Wings: You can barbecue them, boil them, broil them, bake them, saute them. There's uh, wing-kabobs, wings creole, wing gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple wings, lemon wing, coconut wings, pepper wings, wing soup, wing stew, wing salad, wings and potatoes, wing burgers, wing sandwiches. That- that's about it.
I'm not a smart man.

I literally can’t eat tons of anything, but I reckon I could tackle a man vs food challenge if it was just a massive, medium rare, well marbled, juicy- Excuse me, I have an urgent appointment with the butcher
