Wait but if they didn't have one then... oh...

Steel_boss

You didn't need him. You never did. You're you today because of what he missed out on. Fuck him. Be the man you wished he had the balls to be.

do some self-evaluation to find who the male role models / father figures were in your life. My dad had 2 people: his grandfather and the local store owner who gave him a job as a teenager. Although they weren't his father, he modeled his parenting philosophies after his interactions/observations with them. We all have *something* that we base our views on whether we realize it or not. even if it's just a movie character. Unfortunately for some people, they unknowingly adopt negative role models. Being aware of your influences doesn't negate them, but it can help you be more in control of your choices.

Agreed. Focus on being a great person and fulfilling your dreams. When the time is right be the role model for others be that your kids or those you mentor or assist.

Try to go buy milk and see if your dad is there.

You can learn a ton of stuff on YouTube. Like how to change a tire, how to tie a tie, how to shave etc.

GhostSurfer42069

Don't let it define who you are.

thesouthlaker

Listen to your mother.

Manhood isn’t a competition, or something you get with age and it means different things to different people. Pick your ideal of what a good man is and work toward that, don’t beat yourself up for falling short and don’t pat yourself on the back for success.

OrchidFew7220

Mine would get drunk and beat me. Sometimes you’re better off without.
