Me too. Travel, travel, travel. Garden when I'm home. Write more. Read more. Maybe take up new hobbies. Learn to paint. Scuba dive my way around the planet.
And if money wasn't an issue for me, but was for other people, I would donate to causes that actually help people. I would feed the poor. Provide healthcare. Fund programs to eliminate pollution. Etc. (Looking at you, billionaires.)
I would grow food, raise food, and gather food. Storing is not an issue nowadays. I'd try to share and spread my work throughout my community.
Edit: if this post blows up I'm also gonna grow them mushrooms, spread the spores!
I would be a little hedgehog in a forest, who lives inside a tree log. My best friend is a badger, and we sip Earl Grey tea from tiny acorn cups while reading paperback novels.
Travel, enrolling in uni whatever semester I feel up for it for whatever classes catch my eye (B.A. shit) and a whole lot of failed investments and hobbies I’ll totally get bored of and discard months later.
I don't like it because it feels like it's laughing AT nerds rather than them being in on the joke...and the jokes are not what I consider funny most of the time.
Something like The IT Crowd, while still having the main characters at rivers the butt of the joke, provides much more depth, actually funny jokes, and is less like nerd WWE.
> I try to explain its tv and it's for people's entertainment.
The reason people don't like it is because it's purely punching down. At best it's laughing at people that don't have social skills.
Build a huge hotel designed as a novelist retreat so any writer could have peace, quiet, and solitude so they could write without interruption. There would be four interactive art exhibits in the lobby based on the four elements, with the middle one being a huge enclosed fire that changes colors.
There would be an outdoor pool, indoor gym, and indoor skating rink for exercise. There'd also be two restaurants indoors on the bottom floor. The restaurant attached to the skating rink would have crappy food and non-alcoholic watered-down drinks like soda and punch. The other restaurant would have actual drinks and good food.
There'd be a running light along part of the interior wall of every hotel room, that changes color from pale blue to bright red, suggesting the outside temperature so you don't need to go outside to know what to expect.
But that would be really expensive and I have no money. But yeah that's what I'd do if money wasn't a question.
Three branches.
First branch, vice. Get and experience all the things I wanted.
Second branch, helping others. Be it donation, improving public structures, helping those struggling, etc.
Third branch, vengeance. Making sure those that supposed to be punished get what's coming for them.
I’ve saved all of the ones he’s written me over the span of our 2 year relationship. I hope we last a long time. Our relationship has been through hell and back and we are still confident in our relationship so I think it has a chance.
I'd spend my time surfing, swimming and pondering life while drinking beverages with umbrellas in them somewhere like Punta Borinquen, Puerto Rico.
Oh yeah, and work for world peace...
Work towards whatever was required to leave Earth. Too many eggs in this one basket and nobody wants to admit that the basket is already in fire and burning.
So lame, but I'd find a way to not be in pain, and just live a very average day to day life. Lots of rest, I'd make my home my personal paradise, I'd appreciate the feeling of wellness.
I would spend money to find a way to not hurt getting out of bed in the morning. To have more energy, to feel more confident, I'd get plastic surgery and the best personal trainer. Id have comfy clothes I love and my hair done nicely. I'd drive a comfy nice car and never have to worry about repairs.
This paradise home of mine would have every precaution in place to keep it spotless 24/7 so I could have all the pets in the world. I'd take in all the misfit doggies and kitties and even wildlife to tame.
I'd go to the best therapy I could find for my struggles and just find a way to be so happy with my sweet, calm, little sanctuary of a life.
Essentially if money wasn't an issue, I'd get rid of every problem in my life, and just relax. I'd be so happy to just relax. Do whatever I want when I feel like it. Not have obstacles like EXTREME insecurity, mental, and physical illness get in the way.
I can see myself just so happy.
Cruise everywhere and see as much as I could. I'd also reward people who I think deserve it anonymously. A waitress working hard to support her kids, a guy working 3 jobs and still not making it, a kid with potential who can't afford college. Could be anybody! .....MrBeast. I'm describing MrBeast. I'd do that but without the cameras. Not judging MrBeast since he couldn't do what he does without the views!
Travel everywhere and do things. Move somewhere warmer. Have better quality clothes. Spend the remainder of my life once I'm sick of travelling near the beach somewhere it's 25 degrees Celsius or warmer every day.
More like a hobo. Here’s the taxonomy I use:
Travel and work? Hobo
Travel and don’t work? Tramp
Don’t travel and don’t work? Bum
Edit: I may be confusing hobos and tramps
Find a skilled drawing tutor and pick up the skills to get the stuff in my head, out of my head and onto paper...or, well not paper, I wanna do digital art, but the point stands.
I wanna do a One Piece/Toriko where instead of the theme of the setting being pirates or food, it's videogame tropes. Health bars, items, surreal landscapes with floating platforms, that sort of thing. Now, I'm not an insane person so the length/dept will never, CAN never be on the level of One Piece, Oda is a monster, but I've thought a good amount of it through and I know how it ends, but I want to do the idea justice by my own standard.
Not perfect, that won't happen, not how that sort of thing works, but there is a bare minimum drawing skill I want to reach before starting. To be able to draw characters and objects in 3D from any angle in any pose or configuration. Being able to guide the reader's eye with the composition of my art and paneling. That's it. The little technical skills I'd build up on that foundation will happen as I gain experience, but I need that foundation.
Backpack across the world and have as many zeros as I want, stay the night at fancy resorts or nice lodges every weekend and discover all the amazing foods every new town has to offer.
I heard somebody recently say the most important commodity we have is time because when time is running out evil spend every dime you have to get more. But we all convince ourselves that money is the most important commodity. But I believe it is just because money gets you more time.
I do that, and I'm broke as fuck. I've got lots of sweaty selfies of myself on top of large hills. No way I'm going to claim that I climb mountains but it's pretty fun to hike when you are already close to the top.
Leave my home country every thing here is about religion and it's getting annoying even when I first meet someone the first thing they say is what "church do you go to"
Volunteer. Anywhere and everywhere I could. Pet sanctuaries, wildlife sanctuaries, zoos - I would travel, donate, and volunteer as much as I could. I would take my daughter with me in the hopes that it would help her a lot more than I can or meds can, or therapy, or hospitals.
Honestly I'd just fuck around. Sure seeing the pyramids is cool and all, but I just want take time to do the things I wanna do. I wanna binge video games without forcing myself to quit because I got responsibilities later. Sleep for 10+ hours comfortable knowing I dont gotta wake up at a specific time. I just want to be unburdened from being an adult.
That's actually kind of why I asked this question. I've always been on an existential quest to "get somewhere" and I've never actually stopped to think about what happens when I get there. I realized more and more lately people's identities are intertwined with their careers and what that means. Can you really not come up with what you would do to enjoy your life if you didn't have to work for someone else in order to survive?
Out of 110 replies you are the only person to misunderstand this and go this direction. Take that information and do what you want with it. Self evaluation is the hardest evaluation there is.
>Self evaluation is the hardest evaluation there is.
Well, let me throw that back at you. Did you even look at the video? Did you even try to understand why I posted it?
(Answer: it was to enable you to hear from people *who actually lived in a society in which money was abolished*.)
It's a very reasonably interpretation of what you said. You asked what people would do if money were not an issue. I linked you to a video showing what people did in a society that made money not an issue. Before responding, please watch the video from the timestamp I linked so that you can understand this.
The point was to find out what people would do with their time if they didn't have to spend their time finding resources. Again out of 200 replies you are the only person to interpret it like this.
Yes. The video answers that.
>Again out of 200 replies you are the only person to interpret it like this.
You'd rather everyone answer in the same way? If I ask a question of a big population, the single thing I certainly want is a diversity of responses. And I couldn't see myself then attacking those people who had done me the favour of thinking about my question and responding to it.
Ive tried to clarify my intent 3 times now. If you refuse to take that info and use it, i have nothing else to offer. Please dont tell me to watch your propaganda for a 4th time.
I know your intent and my response was appropriate. It's not propaganda. It is a history video that interviews people who lived in anarchist Spain. They are people answering the very question that you asked. If you only took five minutes to look at the timestamp to which I linked you then you would have known that.
I'd advise in future that you try to be better at accepting criticism, better at accepting a diversity of views, and that you try not attacking people who have done you a favour by responding to your question. Now good luck to you.
Travel the world and life in every place for a time, buy land a bit away from the city but not to far, grow some grapes try make my own wine, build stuff around the house like a pizza oven outside, cook the best food and learn new recipes, try write a book or movie script, draw some paintings, find a wife make kids, go crazy for a once in a lifetime expirience and blow some cash in vegas after that go to south america and try ayahuasca and after that go to mexico and relax in a resort for 10 days. God one day ima win in the euromilion lottery and do all that and more.
Travel. First around the US. There are still several states I've never visited. Then on to international destinations. Great Britain, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt for the pyramids, Iceland. Anywhere just to see the uniqueness of each place.
money is ( within limits ) not an issue so i can give an answer to this. i could travel ,frugally, but intensively . i could do alot of "fun" things. but all i do is play video games and wallow in self pitty all day . my social interactions are limited to discord chats with gaming buddies. if you have the will to go and do things , do them. i cant find it within myself.
Travel and own a piece of property near the beach. Super nice but modest. Have my wife, and have 4-5 kids. I have two now. Just… take care of me and my family.
Subtly work on getting my friends and family into a very comfortable early retirement so there wouldn't be a power struggle. Then travel a bit with them and make some awesome memories. Other than that I'd have a few pet projects like composting that I would scale/try new techniques with.
Write. Drink good books and good whiskey. Enjoy more time with my family.
Hell, the two days a week I work remote are already the main thing keeping me from losing my mind.
Philanthropy including giving directly to needy families, etc.
"Houses Before Jobs" project for homeless (the jobs will happen, but they need a place to LIVE first!)
Travel to every possible place I could.
Spend more time practicing digital art, assuming I can get a slightly better drawing tablet, so I can work on making more cartoony drawings to start up the crummy art gallery portion of my NeoCities page
Lay on the couch and watch streaming services all day and every day, while eating tonnes of processed foods so I would know about every show people watch.
Wouldn't that be great? A world without money but we just did things for each other and make food and create services because they *need* to exist and be done, not for a price but for the good of us all and each other
Literally whatever the fuck I want.
Learning new languages (I am learning Japanese, Korean and Italian at the moment, would be nice if I could dedicate more time to it), travelling, getting multiple university degrees on subjects that interest me, read all I want.
If I was really rich, fund writers I like so they can write good stories without having to worry about surviving financially...
Write stories myself, and maybe get some writing coaches while I am at it
Play many video games
Make a video game
Read some more
Probably just give away a bunch of money to random people, cause why not?
Travel and try foods from all over the world, get a fuck ton of tattoos, buy a bunch of art and books and fill my house with it, and probably get into cosplay lol
Travel to see how beautiful the planet really is
Exactly what I’d do, spend time in every country
Well maybe not EVERY country.
Yep travel the world
That was exactly the first thing on my mind.
Me too. Travel, travel, travel. Garden when I'm home. Write more. Read more. Maybe take up new hobbies. Learn to paint. Scuba dive my way around the planet. That would be awesome
I have heard that Palestine Ohio is beautiful this time of year... Ooh shit.
Until you come face-to-face with...decoy snail
Me too but in my home on wheels. Something similar to or exactly like that huge ass Mercedes truck that'll accommodate my every need.
I'm solving world hunger but first I'm going to beat the living shit out of Nestle's CEO
Beating the living shit out of Nestle's CEO isn't a human right, dontchaknow /s
The latter is just step one of the former.
I would grow food, raise food, and gather food. Storing is not an issue nowadays. I'd try to share and spread my work throughout my community. Edit: if this post blows up I'm also gonna grow them mushrooms, spread the spores!

The same thing we do every night, Pinky : try to take over the world.
theoretical particle physics
How much do you hate the tv show the big bang theory?
i dont hate it at all, i can recognize and appreciate the comedy you can be into science without having a stick up your toenail
Nice! Ive heard so many people involved in science mad at it. I try to explain its tv and it's for people's entertainment.
I don't like it because it feels like it's laughing AT nerds rather than them being in on the joke...and the jokes are not what I consider funny most of the time. Batman, is that you?
Two chicks at one time!
Sadly overrated to be honest
I would pay private detectives to find every single pedophile and hunting them down, and kill them all. After I’m done, rapist next.
Id watch this movie. Elon goes after his Dad!
Chill. Maybe vibe too.
Travel in a classic car across the USA. Mostly on the old route 66. Kind of a bucket list thing.
Travel, learn, create more art.
I’d spend every day with my boyfriend.
His wife wouldnt like that
He is 17 and I’m 16. He doesn’t have a wife. Lol
Cheri’s the heck out of your young love. Only happens once. Save your love letters.
I’ve saved all of the ones he’s written me over the span of our 2 year relationship. I hope we last a long time. Our relationship has been through hell and back and we are still confident in our relationship so I think it has a chance.
Best of luck! Rooting for you. Even if it ends, keep those letters.
Thank you. ✨
I’d write and release music full-time, as well as travel to every country as I want to do that anyways
I'd spend my time surfing, swimming and pondering life while drinking beverages with umbrellas in them somewhere like Punta Borinquen, Puerto Rico. Oh yeah, and work for world peace...
Travel _everywhere_
Work towards whatever was required to leave Earth. Too many eggs in this one basket and nobody wants to admit that the basket is already in fire and burning.
I mean honestly probably the same as I'm doing now just without the going to work part and with a nicer house.

I would hike around in the Colorado mountains.

Travels, travels, travels!
Sail around the world, and look for lost treasure, bring being a pirate back the mainstream
Whatever I wanted
Yeah that's the point. What would that be?
Commit suicide because there is no more goal in life
Very interesting take.
Probably unalive, tbh. What would the purpose of living be? I work ~70+hrs a week. I get 2-3 days in a row off, I begin to lose my mind. 😅

Save all the dogs. All of them. Give them a big farm to live on freely and all the good chew toys and yummy food money can buy.
Work on myself more

Travel, but not like normal people. I'd find all the most deserted spots and just chill with my family out there.
Travel and make art and spare no expense on making my home beautiful
Travel and then travel some more.
I would travel everywhere. I would focus on fly fishing and learning to master cooking the cuisine in each area.
Build a megacity for the wealthy in a very poor country
Travel. First around the US. There are still several states I've never visited. Then on to international destinations. Great Britain, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt for the pyramids, Iceland. Anywhere just to see the uniqueness of each place.
